Born of the Spirit: A New Creation is Not an Accident. It is a Project.

John 3:1-12

No one drifts into holiness.
No one stumbles into the mind of Christ.
No one accidentally develops the fruit of the Spirit.

That life is not an upgrade to the old man.
It is a new birth.
A divine genesis.

A man can be religious his whole life—
like Nicodemus,a teacher in Israel—
and still not know the kingdom.

You can have doctrine without deliverance.
Morality without mystery.
Form without force.

“You must be born again.”
Not improved.
Not adjusted.
Not educated.
Born.

Of water and the Spirit.

The flesh gives birth to flesh.
The same tired patterns.
The same old reactions.
The same self-made righteousness.
The same predictable sin.

But the Spirit gives birth to spirit.
A new origin.
A new nature.
A new wind blowing where it pleases.
You hear its sound,but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going.

So stop trying to manage the wind.
Stop building theological cages for the Spirit.
Stop treating the new birth like a doctrinal footnote.

This is not a gentle correction of your habits.
This is a resurrection.

You do not “self-help” your way into eternal life.
You do not discipline yourself into the kingdom.
You areborn into it.
From above.

And what is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Not a better version of the old you.
A new creation.

So why do we still live like orphans of the flesh?
Why do we cling to the graveclothes of the old life?
Why do we insist on repairing the tomb?

You were not born again to remain spiritual infants.
You were born to grow.
To breathe the unfamiliar air of grace.
To walk in the untamable freedom of the wind of God.

Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’
Marvel instead that you have been.
And now—livelike it.

The flesh had its time.
It produced what it always produces:death.
Now let the Spirit produce what only He can:life.

You are not an upgraded Adam.
You are a child of God.
Born from above.
Born of the Spirit.

Now live like your Father.
