DEVELOPMENT OF THE BOYS’ BRIGADE, NIGERIA, KADUNA STATE COUNCIL ROMI SPORTS COMPLEX, EVENT CENTRE AND COMMERCIAL PLAZA PROJECT KICKS OFF WITH GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY
The Boys’ Brigade, Nigeria, Kaduna State Council has officially commenced the development of the Romi Sports Complex, Event Centre and Commercial Plaza Project with a colourful groundbreaking ceremony held on Saturday 25th July, 2026 under the distinguished chairmanship of Hon. Dr. Gideon Jock.
The project is envisioned as a multi-purpose legacy facility that will serve the Brigade, the Church, and the wider community through sports development, events, entrepreneurship, and job creation.
In his welcoming address, the President, Kaduna State Council of The Boys’ Brigade, Nigeria, Dr. Abraham H. Gaga, described the project as “a bold step of faith and vision.” He noted that the Sports Complex, Event Centre and Commercial Plaza will provide a hub for youth development, talent discovery, discipleship, and sustainable revenue for the State Council’s mission.
In his remarks, Hon. Dr. Gideon Jock commended the State Council for the initiative. He charged the project team to uphold excellence, accountability and timeliness, adding that the facility will become a landmark for positive youth engagement and community impact in Kaduna.
Dr. Daniel Gagah, Chairman of the State Project and Property Committee, delivered goodwill on behalf of the National Patrons from Kaduna. He applauded the vision and pledged the support of the National Patrons toward the project.
The State Chief Patron, Hon. Bulus Kajang, represented by the Assistant State Chief Patron, Flight Engr. Labari Abraham Dyaji, described the project as strategic for the growth of BB in Kaduna.
Also speaking, the Chief Patrons of Television, Barnawa and Kudansa Battalion Councils urged companies to key into the project through partnership. They prayed for God’s provision and protection over the work.
Well-wishers present expressed excitement at the job opportunities and facilities the project will bring to the community.
Speaking further, the Project Architect, Arch. Nandom Joel Gushi, represented by Engr. Samson Sabo Bako, gave highlights of the facility. The Romi Sports Complex, Event Centre and Commercial Plaza will include:
- Sports Complex: Football pitch
- Event Centre: Multipurpose hall for conferences, weddings, BB camps and rallies
- Commercial Plaza: Shops and offices to generate sustainable income for BB mission
- Supporting Facilities: Parking, security, and landscaping
The symbolic turning of the sod was performed by Hon. Dr. Gideon Jock alongside Dr. Abraham H. Gaga, Patrons, and other dignitaries.
The Kaduna State Council expressed gratitude to God, to the Chairman, all Patrons, donors, partners and members for their support.
The Council reaffirmed its commitment to delivering a world-class facility that will Inform, Impact, and Inspire for Christ for generations to come.
