Queen Vashti of old forgot, or perhaps she didn't realize that she was queen, only because she was married to the king.

Because of this, she did anyhow and saw anyhow.

Today, this clergy wife celebrates the Man of God, whose ministry and service to God has given her a platform upon which she stands to serve God and humanity.

Happiest of birthdays, my beloved Man o' Gaad! I have grown under your careful pastoring, and i am soo grateful for the gift of God that is YOU!

Hello, my precious people😊😊

Make una nor vex for me... e joor.
I have been quite busy... life is indeed lifing... but God is faithful.

Yesterday, my favourite clergyman and i clocked 20 years in our Marriage!!!

Yaaaaaayyyyy 💃💃💃

20 years no be beans... lai lai🥵

20 years of loving
20 years of giving
20 years of making space for each other
20 years of trying to understand each other better
20 years of bearing with each other
20 years of forgiving each other
20 years of learning each other
20 years of growing with each other
20 years of serving God and His people together

Kai!!! it has been a most interesting experience.

Based on my peculiar experiences and experiences of other couples that i am privy to, by reason of ministry... I would like to share some of my thoughts on Christian marriage.

I will trust God to be as raw and sincere as i need to be.

You might like to watch this space😉

There are other new beningings... just you watch.🫡🫡🫡

Much love from me and my favourite Man o' Gaad🥰

Always on display

In many churches , Anglican inclusive - the 'Mama Church' - sits riiiiight in front of everyone.🤣🤣🤣

This can be disconcerting, and if you are not careful, may even inhibit true connection with the service and with God Himself.

The feeling of being watched... of being judged... of being a topic of discourse... of being disliked for just being where others would've liked to be or where they feel is bigger than you!

No be small somtin🤣

And then... the matter of receiving ministry. You dare not answer any altar call before members will speculate as to what sin you might be guilty of... if you wanna repent... just do it privately... God will understand 🤣🤣🤣

Because of this, several clergy wives 'abandon' the seat of prominence, preferring rather to sit among the laity, so that they can find their ease 🤭

If you feel this way... you are not alone. One scripture I use to bolster my confidence is Heb 5: 4

"... No man taketh this honour unto himself..."

My sister... you were called and chosen by God. No be you send yourself! You are not perfect, but are a work-in-progress... biko chill!

Do not let anyone make you 'behave' yourself in the presence of your Father and His people. Moreso- it will always be a case of damned if you do; damned if you don't.

Sing, dance, shout, and lose guard if you must. Eventually, your audience will get used to your originality and move on. and if they don't... toh... nothing do you😁

Enjoy God's presence always.

Happy New Year

From Fellow Pilgrim to First Lady: Surviving your friend's Episcopal Elevation

Today, i sat among the crowd of people at the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Life Camp Gwarinpa, where 15 new bishops were consecrated.

Among them were close friends of ours and former colleagues- the Ven. Dr. & Mrs. Paul and Michelle Dajur, now consecrated Bishop of Keffi-Karshi diocese.

I remember as younger clergy wives, Mimi and I would sit together during diocesan events tittering and commenting about sections of the program, much to the chagrin of our older mamas 😆😆😆

The consecration and elevation of a clergyman and his wife from the order of a priest to that of a Bishop is consequential and ushers in many changes. Many times, it creates a new dynamic in previous relationships and, if not properly managed, can sadly lead to a souring of such relationships.

How to navigate:

1. Honor!!! This is essential, especially if you had related very closely... be the quickest to give her her full regard. Draw a line of honour and step behind it- especially in public. Let others learn from you how to relate with her

2. No unnecessary familiarity, abeg! Like the parable of Jesus in Luke 14:10... 'sit at the lowest place' allow her to be the one to extend the hand of fellowship to you

3. No guilt - tripping. Okay! Realize that the elevation will surely move her in many ways - out of your usual circle. Know this and know peace

4. Remember that this is an ordination of grace, and so you need not feel envious, resentful, or inferior. Be her loudest cheerleader.

5. Support and presence: as much as you can, let her know that you are always rooting for her to succeed, and that you are there for her. The top can sometimes be a lonely place

6. Avoid the temptation to become a 'cabal' around her- feeding her with negative gist about others or filling her ears with 'dem say dem say.' Biko... mind yaseff

7. Pray for your friend!

Once again,congratulations, ndi nkem🥳

Dear clergy wife... who is your Ananias??
.. And Ananias went his way and entered the house; and laying his hands on him he said, "Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came, has sent me that you may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit."

Acts 9:17

Na, so the life of a clergy wife be... abi?

One minute, you're walking down the aisle with your pastor husband, next minute you land fiam inside the work- expected to know all the ropes and lead the women and girls in the church like a seasoned veteran!

And mind you, nobody asked if you're ready or not. The responsibility just drops on your head like hailstones from heaven.

Darris, why... every Paul needs Ananias!!!

Somebody to guide them, somebody to show them how to navigate the system.

Hmmm, my dia... it is crucial to find yourself a wise and experienced clergy wife who can mentor you, somebody who can say "my dear, be careful here, do it like this, don't do it like that". Before you make a mess of life and ministry.

Just make sure say your Ananias be somebody wey know wetin she dey talk ooo, somebody wey don do am before, and somebody wey go guide you with kindness and sincerity.

Because...Haa... aka'm adigh kwa ya (my hand no dey dia)

And on your own part, dear, be humble, make yourself available, and serve with all your heart. No think say you sabi, because trust me, you don't. But with the right mentor and a willing heart, you'll be navigating the clergy life like a pro in no time!

So, to all my fellow clergy wives out there, especially to those just stepping on that threshold... look for your Ananias.

And to those who have stood as Ananias for us... thank you for being a blessing.

THE PRESIDENTIAL PARDON (Concluding part)

If a human president has such authority to change the destiny of a murderer... how much more the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, and the President General above the Nations
🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

Lastly...

A pardon, when validly granted, effectively brings an end to the criminal history of the person who is pardoned.

Woooohooo
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

* Our sins are forgiven.
* Our guilt is removed
* The shame of our past, wiped clean
* The consequences of our sin, deleted.
* God sees us as completely innocent

Child of God...
Rise up! Do not let anything or anyone keep you in chains.

Therefore, if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17

In Christ Jesus, we have received...

THE PRESIDENTIAL PARDON (Second part)

- Restoration of Rights: A pardon restores the individual's civil rights, including the right to vote, hold public office, and engage in certain professions.

- No Further Punishment: The pardon means that the individual will not face further punishment or penalty for the offence."

So when in Col 2:14, the scriptures say that God has cancelled the record of the charges against us...It implies that a believer enjoys everything listed above and much more...

While Maryam Sanda's guilt and conviction have not been erased because "A pardon does not quash or erase the conviction itself, though it does remove the penalties and consequences that flow from it..." in Christ Jesus... our guilt and shame have been completely obliterated💃💃💃

Secondly, while the 'fairness' of her release can be questioned, that of a Believer can not! Because Someone worthy- Jesus Christ - has paid the price IN FULL. We have therefore received complete absolution- which is not contestible in any court of law by men or by spirits.

GLOOOORAYYYY
🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

Absolve/Absolution

* To set free, release or discharge (from obligations, debts, responsibility etc.)

* To pronounce not guilty; to grant a pardon for.

* To pronounce free from or give absolution for a penalty, blame, or guilt.

Kimonnn💪🏼💪🏼

Thirdly... no matter how terrible anyone feels about the pardon Mariam has received... and believe me, a lot of people feel terrible about it, and rightly so... guess what? Nobody can do a thing to upturn it! Not a single thing. Why???

1. The President is constitutionally within his rights to exercise that power
2. The exercise of that power is not subject to ANY legislative or judicial review
3. In legal terms, once the president has acted on the advice of the Council of State and issued a pardon, that pardon is generally considered final and absolute.

THE PRESIDENTIAL PARDON

You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. He cancelled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross.

Colossians 2:13-14

When the news filtered into circulation that Maryam Sanda- a woman who brutally murdered her husband, and was rightfully sentenced to death by the court of law - had received presidential pardon... like many other Nigerians, i felt aggrieved!

I couldn't help but imagine how the family of her late husband would receive the news...

That the woman, who wilfully, deliberately, cruelly snuffed life out of their precious son, brother, relativeand friend, had received a presidential pardon.

Her sentence had not been commuted, not converted to life imprisonment, not reduced to a couple of years... but PARDONED!!!

Kai!!! The Injuxtix

But as I angrily delved the depth of reprieve extended by the President to an unworthy woman... It occurred to me that believers in Christ Jesus are recipients of a similar gesture - we, too, have enjoyed an even greater Prerogative of Mercy from God through JESUS CHRIST!

I tried to look into what the full legal implication of the pardon received by Mariam Sanda entails:

"In Nigeria, a presidential pardon like the one granted to Maryam Sanda has significant legal implications. Here's what it means:

- Removal of Conviction: A presidential pardon typically removes the conviction from a person's record, effectively wiping out the criminal record associated with the offense.

- Release from Prison: The pardon results in the immediate release of the individual from prison, as was the case with Maryam Sanda, who was released from Suleja Medium Security Custodial Centre.
