THE EVOLUTION OF ECWA's NAMES
What we have today as Evangelical Church of West Africa which later metamophosized into Evangelical Church Winning All was first coined by Rowland Bingham

As a means of indigenizing this Mission, the name was changed to Evangelical Church of West Africa in 1954. ECWA was registered with the Nigerian Government on 11th June, 1956 as Association of Evangelical Churches in West Africa but later the term association was removed. It was registered with eight districts
1. Bauchi
2. Gwari
3. Kano/Katsina
4. Nupe
5. Sokoto
6. Tangale/Waja/Gombe
7. Yoruba
8. Zaria/Plateau
In 2011 the name was changed to Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) to reflect its present global reality.
At the time of its incorporation, ECWA has the following people as her pioneer Trustees

6. Mallam Abubakar Daniya from Gusau, Sokoto DCC
7. Mallam Dangwaram from Biliri, Tangale/Waja DCC
8. Mallam Iliya Ari from Kukar Gadu, Bauchi/ Borno DCC.
Today, ECWA has grown into a global movement with more than 90 District Church Councils, over 650 Local Church Councils, and a network of more than 6,000 local churches. Its membership now exceeds 10 million believers spread across Nigeria and beyond, with vibrant congregations in Chad, Niger, Malawi, Kenya, The Gambia, Israel, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States of America.
