MOTHER'S DAY
TOPIC:MY MOTHER MY MODEL.
TEXT; Samuel 25:18-31, Proverbs 31:15-27

INTRODUCTION
A potter was molding clay. His little daughter watched him daily. One day, she took some clay and began to press, roll, and shape it. Her work looked just like her father’s. Why? She copied what she saw every day.
Mothers, your children are watching. You are the first “potter” they see. They copy your words, your attitude, your faith, and your habits. The question is not _if_ you are a model. The question is: _what kind of model are you?_
Timothy became a great servant of God because he had a model in his mother Eunice and grandmother Lois *2 Timothy 1:5*. Your life is preaching a sermon to your children louder
WHO ARE YOU AS A MOTHER
1 you are mirror
*1 Corinthians 11:1* – _“Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.”_
2. *You are a Molder*
God gave you the clay of their early years. Your words, discipline, and habits shape their future.
*Proverbs 22:6* – _“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”_
3. *You are a Minister*
Your home is your first church. You teach prayer, worship, and the Word before any pastor does.
*Deuteronomy 6:6-7* – _“Thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children…”_
4. *You are a Mantle*
You carry spiritual covering over your household. Your prayer life sets the spiritual climate of your home.
*Job 1:5* – _“Job… offered burnt offerings… for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned.”_
5. *You are a Manager*
You set order, discipline, and godly values. A wise mother builds her home; a careless one destroys it.
*Proverbs 14:1* – _“Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.”_
6. *You are a Mentor*
Your counsel guides their choices in friends, career, and marriage. They should find wisdom when they open their mouth to you.
*Proverbs 31:26* – _“She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.”_
7. *You are a Model of Christ*
Above all, your life should point them to Jesus. When they see you, they should see love, forgiveness, purity, and faith.
*Proverbs 31:30* – _“A woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.”_
*2 Corinthians 3:2* – _“Ye are our epistle… known and read of all men.”_
*Ask yourself:* Are you a role model to your children? If your child becomes exactly like you, will you be proud or afraid?
*BENEFITS OF BEING A GOOD MODEL TO CHILDREN*
1. *Godly Legacy Continues* – *2 Timothy 1:5* – Faith passed from Lois to Eunice to Timothy.
2. *Children Walk in Wisdom* – *Proverbs 31:26* _“She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.”_
3. *You Gain Honor in Old Age* – *Proverbs 31:28* _“Her children arise up, and call her blessed.”_
4. *Home Becomes Peaceful* – *Proverbs 14:1* _“Every wise woman buildeth her house.”_
5. *You Raise Nation Builders* – *Exodus 2:9-10* Jochebed raised Moses, the deliverer of Israel.
6. *Divine Reward* – *1 Samuel 1:27-28* Hannah gave Samuel back to God, and God gave her more children.
7. *Your Prayers Carry Weight* – *James 5:16* _“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous availeth much.”_[mother]
*DANGER OF BEING A BAD INFLUENCE TO CHILDREN*
1. *Children Learn Sin Early* – *1 Kings 22:52* Ahaziah _“walked in the way of his mother Jezebel”_ and did evil.
2. *Generational Curses Continue* – *Exodus 20:5* Iniquity visits the third and fourth generation.
3. *Shame and Reproach* – *Proverbs 10:1* _“A foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.”_
4. *Destruction of Destiny* – *2 Chronicles 22:3* Athaliah counseled her son Ahaziah to do wickedly, and it led to his death.
5. *God’s Judgment* – *Ezekiel 16:44* _“As is the mother, so is her daughter.”_ Bad patterns repeat.
6. *Loss of Respect* – *Proverbs 30:17* _“The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out.”_
7. *Eternal Regret* – *Matthew 18:6* _“Whoso shall offend one of these little ones… it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck.”_
*GOOD MODELS AS MOTHERS IN THE BIBLE*
1. *Jochebed – The Sacrificing Mother* – Risked her life to save Moses and taught him faith. *Exodus 2:1-10; Hebrews 11:23*
2. *Hannah – The Prayerful Mother* – Dedicated Samuel to God from the womb. *1 Samuel 1:10-11, 27-28*
3. *Lois & Eunice – The Teaching Mothers* – Passed unfeigned faith to Timothy. *2 Timothy 1:5; 3:15*
4. *Mary, Mother of Jesus – The Obedient Mother* – Submitted to God’s will: _“Be it unto me according to thy word.”_ *Luke 1:38*
5. *The Proverbs 31 Woman – The Virtuous Mother* – Diligent, wise, fears the Lord. *Proverbs 31:10-31*
6. *Sarah – The Mother of Faith* – Believed God’s promise despite age. *Hebrews 11:11; 1 Peter 3:6*
7. *Elizabeth – The Spirit-filled Mother* – Raised John the Baptist in holiness. *Luke 1:5-6, 41, 60*
*CONCLUSION*
Mothers of Zion Baptist Church Eto-Baba Jos, your greatest title is not “Mrs.” or “Madam” – it is _Model_. Your children are reading your life more than they read their Bible.
If you want godly children, be a godly mother. If you want praying children, let them catch you on your knees. If you want honest children, let them never catch you in a lie.
*Challenge:* Today, decide to be the Eunice, the Hannah, the Jochebed of this generation. Let your children rise up and say, _“My mother, my model.”_
*Prayer:* Lord, make every mother here a pattern of good works. Let our lives draw our children to You, not away from You. Help us to model Christ until our children see Christ in us. In Jesus name
