John 1:32–34
John testifies that he saw the Spirit descend upon Jesus like a dove and remain upon Him, confirming Him as the One who baptizes with the Holy Spirit and the Son of God.
Today we understand a key dimension of baptism: Jesus Himself is the baptizer with the Holy Spirit. This is why believers can receive the Holy Spirit as part of their life in Christ, not as a separate or distant experience. The Spirit does not only come; He remains. This “remaining” speaks of continuous fellowship and indwelling, not a momentary encounter.
If you have received Him, seek His abiding presence. If not, desire Him earnestly—until He comes and rests upon your life.
