John 1:32–34

John testifies that he saw the Spirit descend upon Jesus like a dove and remain upon Him, confirming Him as the One who baptizes with the Holy Spirit and the Son of God.

Today we understand a key dimension of baptism: Jesus Himself is the baptizer with the Holy Spirit. This is why believers can receive the Holy Spirit as part of their life in Christ, not as a separate or distant experience. The Spirit does not only come; He remains. This “remaining” speaks of continuous fellowship and indwelling, not a momentary encounter.

If you have received Him, seek His abiding presence. If not, desire Him earnestly—until He comes and rests upon your life.

WORD FOR THE WEEK

You are the sermon.

Being a believer goes beyond knowledge, church attendance, or being born into a Christian home or community. It is practical.

It is a journey of becoming just like our Master, Jesus.

Always, let our words match our actions. Let our private lives be the same as our public lives. Let our lives bear the fruits of righteousness, so that men will see our good works and glorify God in heaven.

This week, insist on Jesus, stay true to your faith, and enjoy the unforced rhythm of grace.

Have a blessed week.

With love from Kakaki.

Luke 3:21–22

“When all the people were baptized, it came to pass that Jesus also was baptized; and while He prayed, the heaven was opened. And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, ‘You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.’”

Jesus didn’t need to repent, but He stepped into the water anyway — to identify with us.
And when He came up praying, three things happened:
Heaven opened
The Spirit descended
The Father spoke: “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”
This is the foundation of our walk with God: divine affirmation precedes human activity.
Before Jesus performed a single miracle, His identity and the Father’s pleasure were already established.
Likewise, our acceptance in Christ is not based on our works, but secured by our union with Him.
Your identity isn’t based on what you do for God. It’s based on what God says about you in Christ.
God is not waiting for you to succeed before He loves you. In Christ, you are already His, already loved, already pleasing to Him.
Now go and build from that place.

Romans 6:5

“For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection.”

If we are united with Jesus in His death — meaning our old life, sin, and shame died with Him — then we are certainly united with Him in His resurrection.
That means our story doesn’t end in the grave. It ends in glory.
If He went down, we went down. If He got up, we got up.
It’s not “maybe.” It’s “certainly.” Hold onto that today.
Death is never the end of the story for people in Christ.
Whatever feels dead — hope, peace, strength — resurrection is already in motion.
He didn’t stay in the grave, and neither will we.
We are united with Him. That is settled.

2 Corinthians 5:17

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

“If anyone is in Christ…” — That’s the condition. Not if you’re perfect. Not if you have it all together. In Christ.
“He is a new creation” — That’s the promise. Not behavior modification. Creation. Something that never existed before.
“Old things have passed away… all things have become new” — That’s the timeline. Not gradual. Not maybe. Now.
So if you woke up feeling defined by yesterday, remember this: Jesus already redefined you at Calvary.
Get up and exercise your authority in Christ today.

Colossians 2:12

“Buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.”

Buried and Raised

Colossians 2:12 shows us that baptism is more than symbolism — it is participation.
This isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being made alive. Walk in the freedom Jesus already won for you.
The power that rolled the stone away is the same power working in you right now. Not later. Now.
Your baptism wasn’t just a moment. It was a merger — your story tied to His victory. Stop living like you’re still in the grave. You’ve been raised.
That means whatever feels dead in your life — hope, joy, purpose — isn’t the end of the story. God specializes in resurrection.
Your faith connects you to the same power that raised Jesus. So lift your head. You’re not stuck.
You are risen.
