This sacred celebration marks the successful completion of a period of devotion, sacrifice, and unwavering faith. It is a time that reminds us of the enduring values of compassion, generosity, humility, and total submission to the will of Allah.

CHIEF JERRY GUSHOP CELEBRATES SILVER BIRD MAN OF THE YEAR; GOVERNOR CALEB MUTFWANG

Chief Jerry D. Gushop has extended a hearty congratulations to the quintessential and pragmatic governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang on his well deserved award as the Silver Bird man of the year.

Gushop stated that typical of the Plateau spirit, our land has produced some of the finest personalities who made visible impacts hence registered prominence at the national and global platform, governor Caleb Mutfwang has just made Plateau proud for becoming the latest in the league.

Plateau Gets New Commissioner of Police

Plateau State has a new Commissioner of Police, Bassey Ewah, following his recent appointment by the Inspector General of Police. The new police boss has pledged to sustain the relative peace currently enjoyed in the state while strengthening security across all communities.

Speaking shortly after assuming office, Ewah assured residents that the protection of lives and property remains his top priority, stressing that the police under his leadership will be proactive and people-oriented.

During his maiden press briefing on Thursday in Jos, the Commissioner warned that it would not be business as usual, signaling a firm and disciplined approach to policing in the state.

He emphasized the importance of synergy among security agencies, noting that effective policing requires strong collaboration and support from the public.

According to him, “We will work with the good people of Plateau State to identify and address security challenges, and we will not rest until we achieve our goals,” highlighting the role of citizens in maintaining peace.

Ewah also called for professionalism within the police force, urging officers to discharge their duties with integrity, discipline, and dedication.

He encouraged personnel to “bring their best game forward” as part of efforts to reposition the command and improve public confidence in the police.

The Commissioner further expressed commitment to restoring Plateau State’s image as the “Home of Peace and Tourism,” assuring residents of a renewed focus on safety and order.

Ewah’s appointment was announced by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, on February 3, 2026, as part of broader efforts to strengthen law enforcement and security operations in Plateau State.

CHIEF JERRY GUSHOP CELEBRATES SEN. I.D. GYANG ON THE OCCASION OF BIRTHDAY

Chief Jerry D. Gushop have joined the well meaning and peace loving people of Plateau in celebrating one of the illustrious sons of the land, the Distinguish Sen. I.D. Gyang on his attainment of new age.

Gushop described the celebrant as a blessing to humanity and an epitome of passionate community development.
In his words, Gushop said "Sen. I.D. is a man of noble heart filled with compassionate disposition. His humanitarian gestures especially to his people; and his boldness and bravery is evident in his firm representation of the people's interests as a legislator while he was serving in the National Assembly".

CHIEF JERRY GUSHOP REGISTERS LAST RESPECT TO LATE YOHANNA MARGIF

Chief (Dr) Jerry D. Gushop has said he lives with a deep sense of respect to the late Amb. Yohanna Margif, describing the deceased as one of the noble stakeholders Plateau was ever gifted.

Gushop said the late Margif lived a life wholly dedicated to serving humanity evident in his philanthropic lifestyle, empowering people into becoming economically liberated and better version of their selves.

Gushop also recounted the political ideology of the departed was totally a selfless aspiration, rather having been drawn from true passion for humanity. He extolled the enduring legacies of the deceased and prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed.

Gushop therefore consoled with the immediate family, the Mushere Nation, Bokkos and the entire Plateau people at large on this irreparable loss.
