*No Distraction, My God!*
Peter was distracted twice, and the results of his distractions were very serious. The day he walked on the water at the ordinance of Christ, he succeeded as long as he depended on the word spoken by Christ. But, as soon as he turned his gaze to the movements of the waves, he was distracted! The second time was after he had just borne great witness to the divinity of Jesus Christ. A brilliant testimony at that. When Jesus begins to talk about the implication of his testimony, Peter again falls into the trap of distraction by taking the subject out of context...
We must always keep our eyes fixed on Christ so that neither hardship nor success, neither hunger nor abundance, neither sadness nor joy can distract us from focusing on our goal of becoming like Christ and doing His will!
