DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST

TUESDAY 2ND JUNE, 2026

TEXT: ACTS 9:1-19

TOPIC: SAUL

Saul, a fierce persecutor of Christians, thought he was doing God's work (Acts 8:3). In this text, Paul extended his violent work to Damascus with approval from the highest religious authority. Behold, on his way to carry out his wicked acts against the disciples of Christ, God met him! Saul went out against Jesus violently, but Jesus went after him graciously. His dramatic encounter with Jesus on the Damascus Road is a classic demonstration of God's amazing grace. God saves his ardent opposer. What a show of love and mercy! Saul, who sought to thwart the Gospel, ultimately became one of its foremost heralds. There are many 'Sauls' (terrorists) in the world today. Do not give up on them. They are potential vessels for the master's use.

REFLECTION: No one can oppose God and win.

PRAYER: Lord, encounter those opposing us in your way. Amen.

SUB-THEME: EXAMPLES OF GOD'S AMAZING GRACE

INTRODUCTION

Praise God for His faithfulness in watching over us and bringing us to the middle of the year. Our focus for June is "Examples of God's Amazing Grace". This month, we will explore how God intervened in the lives of specific individuals, meeting them at their points of need and blessing them beyond their wildest imagination. God reaches out to men and women in love, bringing life even when not warranted. God pours His Grace on people for them to experience a personal and intimate relationship with Him in order for them to avoid eternal damnation. May we open ourselves to receive God's Grace for daily living. Amen.

Memory Verse for the Month: John 1:16
"From the fulness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another."

MONDAY 1ST JUNE, 2026

TEXT: JOHN 8:1-11

TOPIC: THE ADULTEROUS WOMAN

According to the law, both parties to adultery should be stoned to death (Lev. 20:10; Deut. 22:22). In our text, the Jewish leaders brought a woman to Jesus whom they said was caught in the act of adultery, but with an ill motive to entrap Jesus. Why did they not present the man with whom she was committing the act? Jesus asked them that the one without sin should throw the first stone. They all left one after the other since none of them was sinless. Unlike her accusers, Jesus acted graciously. He did not condemn her; instead, he forgave her, set her free, and urged her to sin no more. Are you stuck in any sin? Jesus is always gracious, offering forgiveness and deliverance to those who repent. Repent and be set free today.

REFLECTION: Jesus took the violence for you and me.

PRAYER: Thank you Lord, for identifying with me. Amen.

DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST, SUNDAY 31ST MAY, 2026

TEXT: PSALM 145:1-3

1. I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever.
2. Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever.
3. Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.

TOPIC: PRAISE

Praise is simply lifting God. It expresses admiration and thanks. Everyone who has received grace must learn to praise God daily. Today's text emphasises God's majesty, the believer's response, and the boundless nature of divine greatness. David commits himself to extol and bless God always. This expresses reverence and a lifelong devotion rooted in a relationship. God's greatness transcends human understanding, inviting perpetual awe and praise. Indeed, God is love, just, faithful, and full of mercy. Such testimonies encourage others to trust and praise God. How often do you express gratitude to God for his goodness in your life? Do not allow life challenges to deter you from giving God praise. Make praise an ethos of your life!

REFLECTION: Praise the Lord even amid trouble.

PRAYER: I praise you Lord, for your abounding grace in my life. Amen.

DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST

SATURDAY 30TH MAY, 2026

TEXT: ROMANS 14:10-13

10. You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister ? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat.
11. It is written: “ ‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’ ”
12. So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.
13. Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.

TOPIC: NOT CONDEMNING OTHERS

In this passage, Paul addresses the tendency of believers to judge or look down on one another over disputable matters - issues of personal conviction rather than core doctrine. He cautions that the strong should not despise the weak, and the weak should not judge the strong because they are all products of grace. He reminds the Christians that all shall stand before the judgement seat of God, where each person will give an account of their own life. Therefore, instead of passing judgement on fellow believers, Paul exhorts them to focus on building others up and not placing any stumbling blocks or obstacles in their way. No one is perfect. This should make us humble and prevent us from casting stones at others. Are you fond of criticising others? Stop it and learn to encourage one another.

REFLECTION: Do not condemn but encourage.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to build others and not destroy them. Amen.

DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST, FRIDAY 29TH MAY, 2026

TEXTS: 2 CORINTHIANS 10:12; PHILIPPIANS 2:3

2 CORINTHIANS 10:12

12. We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.

PHILIPPIANS 2:3

3. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,

TOPIC: SHUN COMPARISON

Comparison in the household of God affects our cordiality and impact. Paul warns believers never to compare themselves with others. Assessment of spiritual life must only be on Christ. Any attempt at comparison will breed pride and hamper growth. It is common to see believers comparing themselves with others based on gifts, services, accomplishments, contributions, and so on. Such people often fall short when they apply God's standard. The feeling that "I am better" has created selfish ambitions and arrogance that have ruined fellowships. Is this your attitude? Be warned! Use your gift with solemn reflection - to edify others and please God.

REFLECTION: Use your gift to glorify God.

PRAYER: Father, help me to shun comparison, in Jesus' name. Amen.

THURSDAY 28TH MAY, 2026.

TOPIC: GOOD WORKS.

TEXT: EPHESIANS 2:10-11.

10 For we are God’s masterpiece, created in the Messiah Jesus to perform good actions that God prepared long ago to be our way of life.

11 So then, remember that at one time you gentiles by birth were called “the uncircumcised” by those who called themselves “the circumcised.” They underwent physical circumcision done by human hands.

MESSAGE:
God saved us to fulfil his divine purposes. Our passage says, "We are created in Christ for good works. 'Good works in itself does not earn us salvation. However, faith in Christ must translate into good works (Jam. 2:26). God has a good plan for us. Interestingly, He had prepared what He wanted us to do for Him long before we were born. Therefore, you'll need to ask Him to show you where to fit into His purpose. Out of gratitude for God's gift of salvation, believers should use their skills and abilities to serve others with diligence, kindness, love, gentleness, and so on. They should not cheat or inflate bills in their place of service. Doing good works is not for our benefit; it overflows to building others, and it is pleasing to the Lord. Are your works good? Evaluate!

REFLECTION:
Christ saved you to do good works.

PRAYER:
Father, help me to be found doing good works at all times. Amen.

DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST, WEDNESDAY 27TH MAY, 2026

TEXT: 1 SAMUEL 15:22-23

22. But Samuel replied: “Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.
23. For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has rejected you as king.”

TOPIC: OBEYING GOD'S COMMANDS

God commanded King Saul to destroy everything that belonged to the Amalekites, but he did not obey. His excuse for sparing Agag and some animals was not acceptable to God. Today's text makes it clear that religious ceremonies, rituals, or activities are empty unless they are performed with an attitude of love and reverence. Disobedience to God's commands is likened to witchcraft and idol worship. These are grave sins that attract the death penalty. Disobedience to God is rampant among Christians today. Religiosity has taken over spirituality and total submission to God's instructions. The good singer, instrumentalist, or preacher may be guilty of sexual immorality or idolatry, which God forbids. Remember, Saul disobeyed God; he was rejected, and his kingdom was taken away from him. Do not be like him.

REFLECTION: Disobedience attracts God's punishment.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to always obey your commands. Amen.

TUESDAY 26TH MAY, 2026.

TOPIC: CONTENTMENT.

TEXT: 1 TIMOTHY 6:6-10.
6. But godliness with contentment is great gain.
7. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.
8. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.
9. Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.
10. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

TOPIC: CONTENTMENT.
MESSAGE:
Paul, in our reading, calls upon the Christians to be content with what they have and prioritise eternal things. He reminds the believers that God is good and will always supply all the needs of his children. He urges Christians to avoid the sin of greed and materialism because they cannot answer the deep needs of the soul. Contentment is more than focusing on what we have, but on the fact that all we have is given to us by the grace of God. Both material and spiritual blessings are by His grace. We get discontented when we feel we are not getting what we deserve or not as much as someone else. People with such an attitude easily wander from the faith, living in grief and regret. Some fall into the temptation of looting, prostitution, kidnapping, and so on. Be warned, the end is destructive.

REFLECTION:
Godliness with contentment is great gain.

PRAYER:
Lord, teach me to be content in your grace. Amen.

DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST, MONDAY 25TH MAY, 2026

TEXT: MATTHEW 5:38-39

38. “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’
39. But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.

TOPIC: LETTING GO OF OFFENSE

The Old Testament law permitted the authorities to punish offenders and prevent lawlessness (Ex. 21:23-25). In this text, Jesus prohibits humans from taking revenge. He encourages that offenders should be given a second chance. As beneficiaries of free salvation through grace, we ought to show grace by forgiving those who wrong us. Instead of retaliation, believers should show love and forgiveness. Turning the other cheek appears weak and illogical, yet it is possible to repay wickedness with love. God desires that Christians show mercy and do good to those who do evil. What do you think about wicked people who often plan and attack the innocent? Do you see letting go of offenses as a weakness? Forgiving them is giving room for God to avenge, and He will do it perfectly!

REFLECTION: It is wise to overlook offenses (Prov. 19:11).

PRAYER: Lord, give me the strength to seek redress appropriately. Amen.

DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST

SUNDAY 24TH MAY, 2026

TEXT: JEREMIAH 17:7-8

7. “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.
8. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

TOPIC: ABSOLUTE TRUST IN GOD

The Psalmist eulogises that the one who delight in the law of the Lord is like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding its fruit in its season (Ps. 1:2-3). Jeremiah adjudges that happy is the man who trusts in the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water and does not fear heat or drought. Rather its leaves remain green and never cease to bear fruit. This implies that no matter the hardships, challenges and hostilities in this life, absolute trust in the Lord gives victory. Economic hardships, unemployment, insecurity and persecution are prevalent. Yet, those who trust in the Lord will prosper. But those who rely on human strength will wither. In whom do you take confidence? Help and support from friends and relations is good. But absolute trust in God is better. Do not give up!

REFLECTION: God is dependable, so trust him completely!

PRAYER: My Lord, I place my confidence in you. Amen.
