DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST, THURSDAY 8TH OCTOBER, 2026

TEXTS: EPHESIANS 2:8-9; TITUS 3:5-7

EPHESIANS 2:8-9

8. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
9. not by works, so that no one can boast.

TITUS 3:5-7

5. he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,
6. whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7. so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

TOPIC: GIIFT OF SALVATION

Since the fall, man has been in dire need of salvation. There is no amount of work a man can do to gain salvation. In these texts, Paul states categorically that salvation is entirely an act of God's grace and not a result of human effort or merit. We are saved by grace through faith, not something earned through works or righteous deeds, leaving no room for boasting. God mercifully initiated our salvation through the washing of regeneration and renewal by Holy Spirit. This results in justification and the hope of eternal life. Beneficiaries of salvation must remain loyal and submissive to God. They must not boast of anything of theirs. Have you accepted the salvation Christ offers? If not, take a decisive step. Today is the day of salvation (Heb. 3:15).

REFLECTION: God is offering you salvation today; receive it.

PRAYER: Thank you, Lord, for the offer of salvation. Amen.

DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST, WEDNESDAY 7TH OCTOBER, 2026

TEXT: DEUTERONOMY 8:16-18

16. He gave you manna to eat in the wilderness, something your ancestors had never known, to humble and test you so that in the end it might go well with you.
17. You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.”
18. But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.

TOPIC: ABUNDANT WEALTH

Every good thing comes from the Lord. The text we read confirms this: "But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth ... " Apostle Paul asked, "What do you have that you did not receive?" (1 Cor. 4:7). Abundant wealth comes from God, for He owns all resources (Ps. 24:1; 50:10-12). Out of His grace and benevolence, He blesses the works of our hands and makes them fruitful. When we plant or invest, He makes it yield and increase so that we lack nothing good. We are to honour God with our wealth and be a channel of blessings to others. It is sad when people become unapproachable when God blesses them. Some have turned their backs on God and have no regard for fellow humans. Be careful! Know that God can do and undo.

REFLECTION: Wealth is from God; manage it well.

GENESIS 2:18

18. The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”

PROVERBS 18:22

22. He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord.

TOPIC: GIFT OF A LIFE PARTNER

A wife is a gift to a man for mutual help and encouragement, fostering a deep and meaningful relationship. God initiated this, knowing the importance of a woman in a man's life. Man himself was not aware of this significant need. God graciously formed the woman to be a suitable companion to the man. The second text stresses that he who finds a wife has found a good thing and obtained favour from the Lord. Couples are obliged to love, encourage, cherish, honour and protect each other in holy matrimony. This pleases the Lord, who joins them together. How do you view your spouse? It is disheartening how some couples belittle each other. Domestic violence is on the increase because couples do not have regard for one another. Are you guilty?

REFLECTION: Your spouse is a precious gift.

PRAYER: Lord, thank you for the gift of a life partner. Amen.

DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST, MONDAY 5TH OCTOBER, 2026

TEXT: GENESIS 2:8-9, 15

8. Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.
9. The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

15. The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.

TOPIC: SHELTER

Today's text presents the setting of humanity's original environment and purpose. God placed Adam in the Garden of Eden, a place of beauty, provision and divine presence. Indeed, man was not a product of chance but of divine intention. Man was given a shelter and was saddled with responsibility, not only to enjoy the Garden but to work it and keep it. Indeed, human dwelling was part of God's design, combining stewardship with reverence for divine order. Adam and Eve enjoyed a peaceful existence and relationship with God until they wilfully crossed the boundaries established. Some people are blessed with shelters but have turned them into places of atrocities such as occult practices, or**es, rituals and the like. Do not turn against God when he blesses you (Deut. 8:12-14).

REFLECTION: Let your residence be a place where God is honoured.

PRAYER: Lord, thank you for the blessing of shelter. Amen.

DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST, SUNDAY 4TH OCTOBER, 2026

TEXT: GENESIS 1:28b-30

28. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
29. Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.
30. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.

TOPIC: DOMINION

God created everything on earth and entrusted them to man to rule and have dominion over. This dominion implies a partnership between God and humanity, working together to care for the environment and its creatures. It further demonstrates the trust God has in man in saddling him with such a huge responsibility. Sadly, man has failed to keep to this responsibility by mishandling these creatures through bush burning, overhunting, indiscriminate use of herbicides and destruction of other creatures. Thus, some species of animals, insects and plants have become extinct. What can you do to conserve God's creation? Cultivate the habit of planting trees and rearing animals and desist from using harmful chemicals on the soil. Beloved, remember that you will be held accountable for the trust God has placed in you.

REFLECTION: Handle God's creation with respect.

PRAYER: Lord, forgive me for not handling your creation with integrity. Amen.

TEXT: GENESIS 1:28-29a.

28 God blessed the humans by saying to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it! Be masters over the fish in the ocean, the birds that fly, and every living thing that crawls on the earth!”

29 God also told them, “Look! I have given you every seed-bearing plant that grows throughout the earth, along with every tree that grows seed-bearing fruit.

TOPIC: PROCREATION.
MESSAGE:
Creation is the work of God. He created everything, including man. He graciously involves man in the work of creation through procreation. Man is blessed and given the mandate to "Be fruitful and increase in number..." The human ability to procreate reflects God's creative power and authority bestowed upon them. By producing offspring, man is participating in creation and fulfilling his mandate to fill the earth. This divine mandate is an immeasurable favour. However, man has abused this privilege in many ways. Deliberate termination of pregnancies, gay marriages and lesbianism are not consonant with God's plan for humanity. Wanton killing of human beings is wickedness at its highest level. It is against God's plan for multiplication. Do not thwart God's plan for procreation.

REFLECTION:
It is an honour for man to produce his kind.

PRAYER:
Thank you, oh Lord, for involving me in Your procreative work. Amen.

TEXT: GENESIS 2:7-8

7. Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
8. Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.

TOPIC: BEING A LIVING SOUL

God formed man from the dust. He then breathed the breath of life into his nostrils and man became a living soul. Having the image of God and breath of life is a demonstration of God's grace to man. The fact that you are living today is all about God. However, many people believe that being alive is a result of their efforts, and therefore, they can do whatever they want with their lives. This notion is not true. Your life is in God's hands. No matter how much you try, unless God wills, your breath can cease at any moment. Human life is sacred such that no one has the power to terminate it, whether yours or another's. Live a purposeful life to honour God and impact others, knowing that you shall account to Him what you did while in this body.

REFLECTION: Respect the sanctity of life.

PRAYER: Thank you, Lord, for giving me life. Amen.

THURSDAY 1ST OCTOBER, 2026

TEXT: GENESIS 1:26-27

26. Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
27. So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

TOPIC: MADE IN GOD'S IMAGE

Man is the only creature created in the image and likeness of God. What an honour! To be made in the image and likeness of God means humans (i) Possess spirit, reflecting God's spiritual nature (Jn. 4:24), (ii) Have the capacity for rational thinking and decision making, manifesting God's wisdom and intelligence (Ps. 8:3-5), (iii) Have the ability to make moral choices, distinguish right from wrong, as well as relate well with God. Child of God, these are the privileges God bestowed on you. Alas, some misuse these privileges to indulge in evil instead of doing what is right and good. Do not abuse God's inherent qualities in you. Cultivate a high regard and honour for him at all times.

REFLECTION: You are wonderfully made.

TEXT: PHILIPPIANS 2:3-5

3. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,
4. not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
5. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:

TOPIC: VALUE ONE ANOTHER

Christ humbly laid aside his rights to serve humanity by offering them salvation. Paul urges believers to value one another by eschewing selfish ambition, embracing humility, and considering the interests of others. Selfishness builds pride and breeds jealousy and division, which is harmful to the family. However, humility and care for others foster unity and fellowship. Couples that value each other will work in harmony to ensure the provision of food, school fees and medical bills, among other essentials. Regrettably, some couples spend their money separately, claiming it is their hard-earned money. This attitude will have an adverse effect on the family. Resolve to emulate Christ's humility, set aside selfish ambitions and serve the members of your family.

REFLECTION: Value your family members.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to seek the interests of others. Amen.

TEXT: COLOSSIANS 4:5-6

6. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

TOPIC: GRACIOUS COMMUNICATION

Paul exhorts believers to conduct themselves wisely in their interactions with non-Christians. Furthermore, he emphasises that their speech should be gracious, with kindness, wisdom and tact. Such words are tasteful and preserving, bringing truth, encouragement and spiritual nourishment. Indeed, balanced communication enables Christians to respond appropriately to everyone. Sadly, some Christians speak harshly and arrogantly, claiming it is their nature. Is this your attitude? Understand that believers are being transformed into the likeness of Christ. The old nature is dealt with and the new has come. Beloved, allow the transformative grace of God to take its cause in changing you into the image of Christ.

REFLECTION: Let your conversation be full of grace.

PRAYER: Oh Lord, help my communication to be seasoned with salt at all times. Amen.
