Lessons I Didn’t Learn Until I Became a Mother
Before motherhood, I thought patience meant waiting politely and staying calm when things were inconvenient.
But motherhood redefined patience for me. As a mother, I entered a deeper phase of patience that I wouldn't have understood before now.
🌱 Lesson 2: Patience is love in practice.
Motherhood taught me that patience isn’t passive.
It is active love—repeatedly choosing kindness and sacrifice even when you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, or stretched thin.
🌱 Patience grows when control ends.
I learned that I couldn’t rush growth, maturity, or understanding.
Children grow in seasons and times.
Patience taught me to trust God’s timing, and not by my pressure.
🌱 Patience trains the heart, teaches to forgive and let go, before it trains the child.
Many times, God was more focused on calming me than correcting my child.
Through motherhood, patience became a mirror—revealing my triggers, refining my reactions, and softening my heart.
🌱 Patience is strengthened by faith.
In moments when words failed and strength ran low, prayer carried me.
Motherhood taught me to pause, breathe, pray, and respond—rather than react. A wise woman will build and not destroy - Proverbs 14: 1.
Motherhood slowed me down.
It taught me to wait, to listen, and to love deeply—without haste.
