INTRODUCTION
There is a difference between what man can do and what the hand of God can do.
A man may have connections, education, money, influence and experience, yet there are battles that only the hand of God can settle.
When the hand of God comes upon a person's life, impossibility begins to bow.
The hand of God can take a person from obscurity to visibility.
The hand of God can lift a man whom people have rejected.
The hand of God can open a door that no human being can open.
The hand of God can also bring judgment upon stubborn enemies and destroy wicked agendas.
Ezra 7:9 says:
«“The good hand of his God was upon him.”»
That means Ezra's journey was not sustained by human strength alone. There was a divine hand behind his progress.
Somebody here needs to cry:
“O Lord, let Your hand rest upon my life!”
---
1. WHAT IS THE HAND OF GOD?
The hand of God represents God's power, presence, favour, protection, intervention and authority at work in the life of a person.
When God's hand is upon you:
- Doors can open unexpectedly.
- Helpers can locate you.
- Enemies can lose their power.
- Difficult situations can turn around.
- Your efforts can begin to produce results.
- You can survive what should have destroyed you.
There are things you cannot achieve by human strength.
That is why you need divine intervention.
Zechariah 4:6:
«“Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.”»
---
2. THE HAND OF GOD CAN LIFT A MAN
Consider Joseph.
Joseph was thrown into a pit, sold into slavery and later imprisoned.
His circumstances suggested that his destiny was finished.
But the hand of God was upon him.
Eventually, the same Joseph who was in prison became a ruler in Egypt.
Genesis 41:41:
«“And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.”»
Your present location does not determine your final destination.
The hand of God can lift you from the pit to the palace.
You may be experiencing delay today, but delay is not necessarily the end of your story.
---
3. THE HAND OF GOD CAN PROTECT YOU
There are battles you know about and battles you do not know about.
There are dangers you escaped because you saw them.
There are also dangers you escaped because God's hand protected you.
Psalm 121:7 says:
«“The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil…”»
The hand of God can become a wall around your life.
When God's hand is upon you, the enemy may plan, but God can frustrate the plan.
Isaiah 54:17:
«“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper…”»
Therefore, do not live in fear.
Your confidence should be in the God whose hand is greater than every hand of darkness.
---
4. THE HAND OF GOD CAN OPEN CLOSED DOORS
There are doors that human beings cannot open.
But when God stretches out His hand, impossible doors can open.
Revelation 3:8:
«“Behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it.”»
Some doors require qualifications.
Some require connections.
Some require money.
But there are doors that require divine intervention.
When God's hand is upon your career, business, ministry, family and destiny, doors can open in unexpected places.
Prayer:
“O Lord, stretch forth Your mighty hand and open every door that has been closed against my destiny!”
---
5. THE HAND OF GOD CAN SILENCE THE ENEMY
The Bible says in 1 Samuel 5:6 that the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines.
There is a time when God does not merely bless His people; He deals with what is fighting them.
You do not need to fight every battle by yourself.
There are battles where your prayer should be:
“O Lord, arise and fight for me!”
Psalm 68:1 says:
«“Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered…”»
When God's hand enters your battle, the battle changes.
When God's hand enters your family, strange oppression must give way.
When God's hand enters your finances, stagnation can be broken.
When God's hand enters your destiny, satanic resistance cannot have the final word.
---
6. THE HAND OF GOD CAN BRING DIVINE SPEED
Ezra 7:9 says:
«“For upon the first day of the first month began he to go up from Babylon…”»
And the Scripture emphasizes:
«“According to the good hand of his God upon him.”»
The journey was completed because the hand of God was upon him.
There are people who have been struggling for years to achieve what should have taken months.
You need the hand of divine speed.
When God's hand comes upon you, He can accelerate what has been delayed.
Prayer:
“O Lord, let Your hand bring divine speed into every delayed area of my life!”
---
7. THE HAND OF GOD CAN MAKE YOUR EFFORTS FRUITFUL
Sometimes the problem is not lack of effort.
You are working, but there is little result.
You are praying, but you need divine intervention.
You are trying, but something seems to consume the fruit of your labour.
This is why Psalm 90:17 says:
«“And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands…”»
We need God to establish the work of our hands.
The hand of God turns labour into results.
May your labour not be wasted!
May your efforts produce testimony!
May your investment produce fruit!
May your prayers produce answers!
---
8. THE HAND OF GOD IS ALSO A HAND OF CORRECTION
We should not only ask for God's hand to bless us.
We must also allow God's hand to correct and transform us.
Hebrews 12:6 says:
«“For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth…”»
Sometimes God's hand redirects a person because God sees what the person cannot see.
The hand of God may close a door because He wants to protect you from destruction.
Therefore, pray:
“Lord, let Your hand guide me into Your perfect will.”
---
9. HOW DO WE ATTRACT THE HAND OF GOD?
A. Seek God sincerely
Ezra 8:22 says:
«“The hand of our God is upon all them that seek him…”»
Seek God, not merely His blessings.
B. Walk in obedience
Deuteronomy 28:1 teaches that obedience positions a person for God's blessings.
C. Live by faith
Trust God even when circumstances contradict His promises.
D. Pray consistently
Prayer invites divine intervention into human situations.
E. Avoid deliberate sin
Do not ask God to bless what He has instructed you to abandon.

The hand of God shall open doors for you!

CONCLUSION
Beloved, your strength is not enough.
Your connections are not enough.
Your intelligence is not enough.
Your experience is not enough.
You need the hand of God.
When God's hand is upon a person, the story changes.
David had the hand of God.
Joseph had the hand of God.
Ezra had the hand of God.
The early church experienced the hand of God.
And today, God can place His hand upon your life.
May people look at your life and say:
“This is the finger of God.”
May your testimony become:
“It was not my power. It was not my connection. It was not my strength. It was the hand of God!”
PRAY THIS FINAL PRAYER:
In
“O Lord, from this day forward, let Your good hand rest upon me. Let Your hand lift me, protect me, guide me, establish me, defend me and take me into my divine destiny. Let every evil hand working against my life be broken. Let Your mighty hand turn my battles into testimonies, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen!”
