SOME OF THE MIRACLES PERFORMED BY OUR NOBLE PROPHET MUHAMMAD (SAW).
According to the Holy Qur'an and the authentic Hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) has granted many miracles by the permissions of Almighty Allah. Muslims believe these miracles occurred to confirm His prophethood.
Some of the most well-known miracles are as follow:
1. The Holy Qur'an: ☑️
The greatest and everlasting miracle of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is the Qur'an itself. It is unmatched in its language, guidance, and preservation. According to Qur'an 17:88 "Say, if mankind and the jinn gathered together to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like of it, even if they were helpers of one another."
2. The Splitting of the Moon: ☑️
The Prophet (SAW) pointed to the moon, and by Allah's permission it split into two parts before the people of Makkah. According to Qur'an 54:1–2 "The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has split. Yet whenever they see a sign, they turn away and say, 'Passing magic.' This event is also narrated in Sahih Al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim.
3. The Night Journey and Ascension (Isra' and Mi'raj): ☑️
Allah took the Prophet (SAW) from Makkah to Jerusalem and then raised him through the heavens in a single night. (Qur'an 17:1). During this journey, the five daily prayers were made obligatory.
4. Water Flowing from His Fingers: ☑️
On several occasions, water flowed from between the Prophet's fingers, allowing many companions to perform ablution and drink. Narrated in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim.
5. Multiplication of Food: ☑️
Small amounts of food were miraculously increased, feeding hundreds or even thousands of people. Examples include:
Feeding the people during the Battle of the Trench, and feeding large gatherings from a small quantity of food. Recorded in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim.
6. The Crying Tree Trunk: ☑️
A palm trunk that the Prophet (SAW) used to lean on while preaching cried out when he began using a pulpit, until he comforted it. Narrated in Sahih al-Bukhari.
7. Healing the Sick: ☑️
By Allah's permission, the Prophet (SAW) supplicated for people who were then healed.
Example: He restored the painful eye of Ali ibn Abi Talib (RA) before the Battle of Khaybar. He supplicated for several companions who recovered from illness. Recorded in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim.
8. Fulfilled Prophecies: ☑️
Allah informed the Prophet (SAW) of future events that later occurred, including: The conquest of Makkah,
the conquest of Jerusalem,
the defeat of the Persian Empire, and the spread of Islam across many lands. Many of these prophecies are found in authentic Hadith collections.
9. The Blessing in His Supplications: ☑️
His prayers were answered in extraordinary ways, such as:
Rain falling after he prayed for rain, rain stopping after he prayed for it to cease,
blessings increasing in food, wealth, and people.
10. Protection by Allah: ☑️
Allah protected the Prophet (SAW) from many assassination attempts until he completed his mission.
(Qur'an 5:67) "...And Allah will protect you from the people."
Other Miracles Mentioned in Authentic Hadith:
1. Stones and trees greeted him with Salam. ☑️
2. Animals complained to him and obeyed him. ☑️
3. He informed people of hidden matters revealed to him by Allah. ☑️
4. The poison in the meat at Khaybar informed him that it had been poisoned. ☑️
5. A cloud shaded him on some journeys. ☑️
In conclusion, the greatest miracle of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is the Holy Qur'an, which remains with humanity until the Day of Judgment. The other miracles such as the splitting of the moon, the Night Journey, water flowing from his fingers, multiplication of food, fulfilled prophecies, and answered supplications are established in the Qur'an and the authentic Hadith.
