Muslims' Unity Let's All Forget It- Grand M***i
In the beginning, what unites us is what makes our existence known. That unity came when we attached importance to our structural value which then served as a fence that guided the garden of Muslims. But at present, most especially in Yoruba land, our garden is not fenced, and this led to its exposure to harassment, discrimination and other vices.
In history, Muslims have never united on a lifeless body. Naturally the unity comes when we begin laying a structural foundation as a fence of protection. They will be united when there is something to protect them. They would all come naturally under a shield of Islam when we give them hope to live.
But here in Yorubaland, the body of Muslim is lifeless. It is not yet breathing, and there is no structural value for it. How would Muslim look like, if their financial institutions, educational, medical institutions, engineering and other various professional institutions begin to develop in the name of Ummah? Naturally value will be added to the body of Muslim, and either we like it or not, when a front is formed through establishments, the unity will be naturally established.
So unity without Islamic structures is like a lifeless body, a bird without wing, and effort in futility.
