TACN: NEC Restores Order, Desolves purported Nung Udoe Field..directs agitators to return to Uyo Field

In a move to strengthen unity and uphold the established structure of the church, the National Executive Council (NEC) of The Apostolic Church Nigeria has announced the dissolution of the purported 'Nung Udoe Field,' along with its self-appointed principal officers.

The decision was taken during the National Executive Council meeting held at the National Headquarters in Lagos on February 5, 2025 and was formally communicated in a letter signed by the National Secretary, Pastor (Dr.) M. F. Olumbo, on behalf of the Council.

According to the letter, the 'Nung Udoe Field,' announced on December 16, 2024, was not authorized and, as such, has been dissolved along with its self-appointed principal officers. The NEC reaffirmed that the creation of the Field did not follow the constitutional provisions of the church and, therefore, holds no official recognition.

Additionally, the letter stated that "All Districts and Areas created by the defunct officers and those they called into the ministry are also nullified forthwith".

In line with this directive, all affected officers and members have been directed to return to Uyo Field, pending the official creation of a new Field through the appropriate constitutional process.

In furtherance of these directives, the Field Superintendents and NEC members from Akwa Ibom State Territory, in a joint meeting with the Uyo Field Council and church officers, on Friday, February 21, 2025 unanimously upheld the NEC’s decision, reaffirming the dissolution of the unauthorized structure and directed all those affected to comply accordingly.

It can be recalled that a group of people had sought to break away from Uyo Field of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, to form Nung Udoe Field, which they inappropriately pursued and upon intervention by the national leadership of the Church, have been called to order pending the formal recommendation for subsequent ratification by Uyo Field Council.

NEW NATIONAL PRESIDENT, EXCO EMERGES FOR APOSTOLIC CHURCH
.. As Pastor Oladele Becomes 4th Substantive National President

A new National President has emerged for The Apostolic Church Nigeria, following a National Council election that has produced Pastor Dr. L. O. Oladele as the fourth substantive National President to succeed Pastor Dr. S. E. Igwe.

Pastor Oladele from Lagos, Western and Northern Area (LAWNA territory) was favoured, Thursday February 6, to become the new leader of Church in Nigeria, after national council members of the Church voted him to take over from Igwe, who has completed his tenure.

The general council has also voted others to serve alongside Pastor Oladele in the National Executive Council, including the National Vice President, National Secretary and Deputy, among others.

Emerging as the new National Vice President is Pastor E. U. Johnson from Akwa Ibom State Territory, who the current Field Superintendent of Ikot Abasi and the incoming Akwa Ibom State Territorial Chairman; as Prof. B. B. Fakae has emerged as the new National Secretary; Pastor Isaac Awotanmi, Ph.D, with Deputy National Secretary and Pastor Odionka Nyong as the National Finance Chairman.

Pastor Dr S. E. Igwe, became the third National President of the Church after Pastor Dr. G. O. Olutola, and has completed his tenure in line with the new constitution of the Church nationally.

TACN AKWA IBOM TERRITORY GETS NEW CHAIRMAN, EXCO

The Akwa Ibom State Territorial Council of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, has announced the emergence of a new leadership with the Field Superintendent of Ikot Abasi, Pastor Edikan Udo Johnson, as the new Chairman who will be taking over from Pastor E. O. Uye, JP, as he is set to retire and hand over leadership to the third substantive chairman of the Church in Akwa Ibom, later in the year.

At the end of the territorial council meeting in Uyo, Tuesday January 21, 2025, Pastor Johnson was announced as the new Territorial Chairman of the Church in Akwa Ibom State, alongside others constituting the new Executive Council of the Church in Akwa Ibom awaiting to assume duty upon official handing over.

Also emerging are Pastor Benjamin Edet Okon from Eket Field as the Vice Chairman, to take over from Pastor Samuel A. Isaiah, Ph.D; Pastor Etop-Abasi Akpan, Ph.D from Ikot Ekpene Field as the Territorial Secretary, who will take over from Pastor Prof Ime George, as Pastor Godwin Udo Akpakpan from Ikono Field is to assume position as Head of Finance.

Others are the new Deputy Secretary - Pastor Effiong Edet Duke from Uyo Field, Finance Secretary - Pastor Sunday Edem James and Deputy Finance Secretary - Pastor Ubong-Abasi Ime Udoakpan.

Pastor Barr. Samuel Inyang, makes a return as Territorial Legal Adviser, while Pastor Etop-Abasi Akpan, Ph.D plays a double role also as Director of Media and Public Affairs; Pastor George Etim Akpan from Itu Field will be Territorial Welfare Officer and Pastor Ime Okon Etukudoh returns as Director of Protocol.

Akwa Ibom State Territory of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, metamorphosed from the defunct Akwa Ibom State Joint Fields Council of the Church was established in 2015 by the former National President of the Church, Apostle (Dr) G. O. Olutola, with Apostle Aniekan Udoiyak and Apostle Effiong Uye, JP serving as first and second substantive Chairmen, respectively.

The territory which began with five fields (Uyo, Ikot Ekpene, Eket, Oron and Ikot Abasi) in 2015, has grown to have eight fields including the later creations, Etinan, Ikono and Itu Fields.

Journey to Establishment of Itu Field is Mystery Revealed, says Itu Field Superintendent
…as TACN Itu Field ends her Maiden Convention..TACN National President Inaugurates Field

Itu Field Superintendent, Apostle George Akpan has described the establishment, successful inauguration of the Field and the Maiden Convention as a mystery revealed.

Apostle George Akpan stressed that the gathering on the Headquarters mount, reflects the manifestation of his hidden thoughts concerning the people - a mystery revealed.

The Field Superintendent said this at the opening ceremony of the convention, held at the Field's Headquarters, Use Ikot Oku, Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area on Wednesday, 25th December, 2024.

“The Lord through His Spirit had directed us on the theme of this Maiden Convention which is 'Who hath Believed our Report' taken from isaiah 53:1. What then is our report? That the people whose reputation were not considered, could be lifted from the dust and seated on the table with kings.

“The Lord has started a journey with us as a people; our gathering on this mount is the manifestation of His hidden thoughts concerning us. A Mystery revealed”.

Apostle Akpan thus, assured that God through his message of restoration, will confound generations with the convention serving as a point of contact to unveil his hidden mysteries.

Earlier, the National President, Apostle S. E. Igwe represented by Akwa Ibom State Territorial Chairman, Apostle Eyo Uye had inaugurated the Field and dedicated the Mission House as well.

Apostle Uye in his foundational message drawn from Ecclesiastes 3:1, said “it was in God's calendar that this Field be birthed and the name be called 'Itu Field'. This is the fulfilment of God's timing. Itu Field, it's your time to shine...". He prayed that the gates of hell shall not prevail over the Church.
