SHEIKH HABIB EL-ILORY COMMISERATES WITH THE EMIR OF ILORIN AND THE ENTIRE ADABIYYAH FAMILY OVER THE DEMISE OF THE RESPECTED KHALIFAH OF ADABIYYAH
The Director of Arabic and Islamic Training Centre, Markaz, Agege, Lagos, and Founder of Markaz University College, Sheikh Muhammed Habibullah Adam Abdullah El-Ilory (OON) commiserates with the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari (CFR) and the entire Adabiyyah Family at large as well as the whole people of Ilorin over the demise of the Respected Leader and Khalifah of Adabiyyah, his eminence Sheikh Abdulqadir Muhammad Kamaludeen Al-Adaby (rahimahullaah).
In his condolence message, Sheikh Muhammed Habibullah described the late distinguished Scholar, whose death was announced on May 29th, 2026, as a charismatic visionary leader, peace lover and very hospitable personality whose love for Markaz and Sheikh Adam was not hidden.
The Mudir of Markaz reiterated that the father of the late Khalifah Sheikh Abdulqadir who happened to be the first Grand Mufty of Ilorin, Mawlana Sheikh Muhammad Kamaludeen Habibullah Al-Adaby as an iconic treasure and glory that Allah has blessed the City of Ilorin with in addition to his own father Mawlana Sheikh Adam Abdullah El-Ilory, both of whom have always been internationally recognised and referenced across the globe for their tremendous contributions to scholarship and Islam. Particularly, our great father Sheikh Muhammad Kamaludeen Al-Adaby during his lifetime showed love and affection towards the Mudir of Markaz, which will continue to make Markaz treasure the legacy of Mawlana Sheikh Kamaludeen and his household. He added that his father, Sheikh Adam, did not at any point describe the Great Sheikh Kamaludeen Al-Adaby as an enemy to Sheikh Adam or Markaz.
The Mudir of Markaz established that the death of Khalifah of Adabiyyah Sheikh Abdulqadir Al-Adaby remains a tragedy and colossal loss not to the Adabiyyah alone but the whole of Ilorin and Nigeria at large.
He clarified that his reference of the personal conversation of Sheikh Abdulqadir Al-Adaby with him years back in the presence of His Eminence Emir of Ilorin was not in any way meant to denigrate, insult, ridicule or attack the good personality of the late respected Khalifah of Adabiyyah but to show the sacrifice of Sheikh Abdulqadir Al-Adaby during the early days of Markaz, substantiating the more reason peace and harmony must be treasured between the Adaby and the Markazy.
Additionally, the statement or reference was not in any way aimed at provoking the respected People of Adabiyyah.
However, at this time of great loss, we all need to mourn and express our condolences towards the demise of this righteous soul, from a righteous background and from the City of Righteousness, as the Death of Scholar is a Great Calamity.
Furthermore, the Mudir of Markaz Mawlana Sheikh Muhammed Habibullah Adam Abdullah El-Ilory congratulates the newly appointed Khalifah of Adabiyyah Sheikh Mustafa Muhammad Kamaludeen Al-Adaby for his new appointment and wishes him success and Allah's support towards upholding the great legacy of Mawlana Sheikh Muhammed Kamaludeen Habibullah Al-Adaby.
Conclusively, we pray that may Almighty Allah be merciful to the late Khalifah Sheikh Abdulqadir Muhammad Kamaludeen Al-Adaby and give the immediate family members as well as the entire people of Ilorin fortitude to bear the great loss.
May he be admitted into the Paradise of Firdaus in the company of the righteous souls!!
