DAVID'S HUMILITY
1 Samuel 16:1-13
Many people desire the throne, but few are willing to endure the process that prepares them for it. David was anointed king, yet he returned to the wilderness, the sheepfold, and eventually years of hardship before wearing the crown.
After his anointing, David served faithfully under King Saul, even while being misunderstood, hunted, and mistreated. Instead of forcing his way to power, David chose humility, patience, and trust in God's timing. Though chosen by God, he was willing to wait for God's appointed season.
David understood a powerful truth: preparation is often hidden, painful, and slow, but it is necessary. In lonely places and difficult seasons, God was shaping David's character before giving him the kingdom.
Many believers today want quick recognition, immediate promotion, and instant success. But God's method has not changed. Before elevation comes preparation. Before honour comes humility.
David served without demanding applause. He fought battles without seeking attention. He trusted God when circumstances seemed unfair. And at the right time, God lifted him up.
Sometimes your delay is not denial; it is divine preparation.
If God has given you a promise, remain faithful in your current assignment. Serve diligently, stay humble, and trust His process. God's timing is always perfect.
“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart.” — Psalm 27:14
