PERFECT TIMING

August 26

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end. — Ecclesiastes 3:11

Have you ever struggled with God’s promises to you? Has it ever seemed like there was no end in sight to the storm you were facing? Sometimes when you are going through hardship, you wonder, “When am I going to get through this? When is this storm cloud going to go away? When are things going to get better?”

This brings to mind the Gospel account of Jesus and His disciples at the Sea of Galilee, when He sent them ahead by boat to the other side. But as they were making their way across, a huge storm came along. It got worse and worse. The disciples began to despair of their very lives.

Matthew’s Gospel tells us that during the fourth watch of the night, Jesus came to them. The fourth watch is that time of night just before dawn, meaning that the disciples had been at sea fighting this storm and trying to get out of it for eight long hours. Then when the storm was raging, when it seemed like it would go on forever, Jesus came to them, walking on the water. Many times He will come to us in the fourth watch. We pray, “O, Lord, come through now. Do it now.” But the Lord says, “Hang on. I will be there when the time is right.”

One of the things we must keep in mind is that along with His will, God has His timing. Sometimes we grow anxious. Sometimes we want things to happen a little more quickly than they ought to. But God has His timing. And He is never late. His timing is always perfect. Wait on the Lord.

Prayer:
I praise you Lord, for all your ways are perfect.

*THE RIGHT HELPERS*
August 25

Scripture Reading: Exodus 4

And the Lord said to Aaron, “Go into the wilderness to meet Moses.” So he met him on the mountain of God, and kissed him. So Moses told Aaron all the words of the Lord who had sent him, and all the signs He had commanded him. Exodus 4:27-28

When Moses ran away from Egypt, he was hated by both the Hebrews and the Egyptians. The Hebrews hated him for his presumption to be their liberator. The Egyptians hated him for attempting to liberate a Hebrew. He could not win with either side.

The only people who could be trusted to welcome Moses were his family members. The Lord chose Aaron to go and meet Moses. Aaron was Moses’s older brother.

The Lord spoke to Aaron at the same time that He was speaking to Moses. Both Aaron and Moses heard from the Lord and started their journeys about the same time. Each of them was headed for the wilderness – Moses from Midian, Aaron from Egypt.

Throughout the Bible, we see that on many occasions, when the Lord calls people, He raises others to stand with them. The Lord knows our insecurities. He also knows our limitations. As such when He calls us, He connects us to the right kinds of people who can help us do what He has called us to do.

Aaron was the man who welcomed Moses back to Egypt, just as Barnabas was the man who introduced Paul to the Apostles. Our Lord Jesus, Himself, was received and introduced by His cousin, John the Baptist.

When Moses met Aaron, he felt secure enough to share all that the Lord had told him. Aaron was the older brother, but he was secure enough to recognise the leadership of Moses. A wrong person would have felt insecure, but Aaron was the right person for Moses at this time in his mission.

The person God has raised to stand with you could be your spouse, a brother, a sister, a friend or a mentor. If you think you’re all alone without any help, pray. Ask the Lord to help you notice the person who understands your mission and has the rights

GOOD MORNING
24TH AUGUST 2026 CDEF DEVOTION

STAND FIRM IN THE TRUTH

Scripture:
“So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.” — 2 Thessalonians 2:15 (NIV)

Devotional Thought

The Christian life requires stability. Paul encouraged the believers in Thessalonica not to be easily moved by false teachings, confusion, or changing opinions but to stand firm and hold on to the truth they had received.

We live in a world where many voices compete for our attention. Opinions change, cultures change, and even religious teachings can be distorted. This is why believers must remain firmly rooted in the Word of God.

To stand firm means refusing to abandon your faith when circumstances become difficult. To hold fast means deliberately preserving the truth you have received and allowing it to guide your decisions, character, and conduct.

Faith that is not rooted in God's Word will easily be shaken by trials, fear, disappointment, and deception. But when God's Word becomes our foundation, we can remain steadfast even when everything around us is changing.

Do not allow hardship to make you abandon what God has taught you. Do not exchange biblical truth for popular opinions. Continue to study the Scriptures, obey God's Word, and remain faithful to Christ.

Today, make a fresh commitment to stand firm. Let God's truth determine what you believe, how you live, and how you respond to life's challenges.

Confession

I am firmly established in the truth of God's Word. I will not be easily shaken by trials, false teachings, fear, or the opinions of people. I hold firmly to the teachings of Christ and remain faithful to Him. My faith is growing stronger, my heart is established in truth, and my life reflects the Word of God. I stand firm in Jesus Christ today and always. Amen.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me Your Word as a sure foundation for my life. Help me to stand firm when I face trials, temptation.
