Religion at Home
Religious people often prioritize traditions over God's word, even when it contradicts clear biblical teachings. True spirituality requires discernment, not just adherence to rules. As Jesus said, 'The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath' (Mark 2:27). Let's focus on heart transformation, not just outward compliance.
Religion can become legalistic, dictating every aspect of life. But God's word guides us, not to restrict, but to flourish (John 10:10). We must ensure our practices align with Scripture, not just tradition.
•••Religious people exalt people of the past more than the Word of God and what is clearly stated in Scripture. You remain religious if God's Word can't clearly point out what's wrong, evil, and right in your sight. Religion will destroy the institution of marriage; it cannot withstand time or the pressure of 'new' things. Even if you can bear it, the younger generation will rebel. Religion dictates what to wear, when to eat, and controls your time, affairs, and choices, and even your eternal reward. If your decisions are not based on accurate discernment of God's person and words, you might be making a home for religion and pretense in your home.
