HOW OLD ARE YOU ?
“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom”. (Ps. 90/12).
Perhaps, you are already old, and ageing; or you are still young and growing. The question is - what has been the value of your life? What has your life counted for? What is your age at present?
If you are 35 and you take that from 70, what is there left? And who can tell whether you will live as long as you have spent already?
What is your age now? What fraction of it have you invested for God?
HOW MANY HOURS DO YOU SPEND FOR GOD ?
Consider the life of a woman called Mrs. B-
sleep for 8 hours a day (1/3 of her life)
spends 2hrs journeying to and fro her place of work
spends 6 hrs at her secular place of work
spends 3 hrs in the kitchen cooking
spends 2 hrs in her shop / at market
spends 2 hrs in idle talk
spends 1 hr watching television with her family before going to bed.
What do you realise? Mrs B spends a whole day (of 24 hrs) on herself and on mundane things of the world - without an hour for God. When will she serve God?
How many a man could have been a Paul but was a Pilate; or could had been a missionary but decided to be a millionaire. How many woman could had been a Deborah but ends up being a Delilah!
Many do not realise the fact that they have only one chance to live. “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” (Heb. 9/27-28)
Dear Friend, repent of the wastage you have made of your past years.
You have only one life, give it to Christ, He will give it the true meaning, and make it a glorious fulfilling life
