Call to Service
Text: Gospel of Mark 1:17
Jesus said, “Come after me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”
Beloved, this verse shows us that following Christ is not only about believing; it is also about serving. When Jesus called His disciples, He did not only invite them to receive salvation, He invited them into a purpose.
The first call is the call to salvation—to leave our old life and come to Christ.
The second call is the call to sanctification—allowing God to change and shape our character.
The third call is the call to service—to become instruments in God’s hands to bring others to Him.
Jesus said, “I will make you.” This means God Himself prepares and equips those who follow Him. Our responsibility is to come after Him, and His responsibility is to transform us and use us.
Therefore, every believer is called to be a soul winner. God wants us to reach people around us—our family, friends, neighbors, and communities.
Today, the question is: Have you only answered the call to salvation, or have you also answered the call to service?
May we respond to the Lord’s call and become fishers of men, bringing many souls into the Kingdom of God.
