The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.

GIVING, LOVE AND LIGHT

Giving is purely an act of love. Giving as an act of love means to help someone or to put yourself in his shoes. To love is to feel the pain, suffering and sadness of others as if they are your own; and to make such people see that you're there for them. Giving cannot be done outside love as any form of giving outside love is not giving. Giving is meant to be done sacrificially. In the kingdom of God we give because we love; and we love because we give!

Our proof text teaches about giving as an act of love. It reveals that a giving genuinely done is an act of love and a man of love is a man of the light. Love makes a man to live, work and do things in the light, and never in the darkness. Love is light; hatred and anything outside love is darkness! According to our proof text an eye that is single or healthy simply means a generous eye or person. If you are not generous you are not a man of love, no matter how hard you argue; and if you are not a man of love you are in darkness. One of the main proofs of love is generosity and this must be done both when it is convenient and when it is not convenient. A man of love is always in the light because his eye is healthy or single; that is because he gives. Generosity makes one a man of love who lives in the light. No one can claim to be a man of love without any evidence, as the Bible recorded that every man shall be known by his fruits. If one is a man of love, then there must be a fruit to show it. You cannot claim to be a man of love and yield fruit of selfishness or self-centeredness. A man of love will not find it difficult to give, even sacrificially.

Giving is equal to love; and love is equal to light. If there is kindness in your eyes your heart will be full of light; but if your eyes are wicked your heart will be dark. You cannot not love and not be wicked. And you cannot be wicked and claim not to be in darkness. Wickedness is a family member of darkness, just as goodness is a family member of the light! It is easy for a man of giving to keep standing. Love will always light the way for a man of love/giving. You can never claim to be giving truly without having love; and you can't be having love and be a man of darkness. Giving is caring for others and that is what love is all about. And being in the light is all about fulfilling the laws of God; of which love is the fulfilling of the Law! Remember that God so loved the world that He proved it by giving the world His only begotten Son! Every true love gives; every true giving is an act of love. Therefore, every true giving and true love gives light!

PROPHETIC PRAYERS:
1. Father, make me a man of love so that I will always live in the light!
2. Lord, help me to be a giver to the core!

PROPHETIC DECLARATION:
Receive the grace to have a single/healthy eye! May you no more live in darkness! May God's light always be there for you!

WEEKS 21 – 30 - The Wealth Of The Unchanging Jesus.

WEEK TWENTY-NINE: The Place Of Knowledge And Wisdom In Manifesting The Wealth Of The Unchanging Jesus.
TEXT: Exodus 3:14, Exodus 3:21-22.

EXODUS 3:14 [KJV]
And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you.

THE I AM THAT I AM [EXODUS 3:14].
The more of God you know is the more of God you have. Knowledge precedes possession. The God that you don't know is the God that you can't show! The definition we give to God is based on what we know about Him. We limit God's power base on the level of knowledge we have about Him. The Bible reveals that we know in part, and no wonder that we show in part! To have all of God is to know all of God! No man should give the full definition of God base on the part of God he knows! Our God is simply the I AM THAT I AM.

"I AM THAT I AM" means, I have no fixed name. By that name God was telling Moses that: "I have no fixed name or definition. I can be anything I choose to be. I don't have a particular/permanent name. What happens at a given time dictates my name for that time. You can't use your yesterday's encounter with me to define me today. You can't base my full definition on the part of me that you know! I am not static, I am dynamic! For instance, if I raise my hand to some it will be a blessing, to some it will be a disaster! I am what I am to you per time!"

What a great revelation of God from God Himself! God was telling Moses in our proof text that He would be being whatsoever/whosoever He needed to be per time in His walk with Moses! He first showed Himself to Moses as the One that can do and undo. He changed his rod to a snake and changed it back to a rod. He made his hand leprous and He restored it. He performed all sorts of miracles in Egypt. He got to a time He turned Himself to a construction engineer by parting the Red Sea. At the same time He turned Himself to an electrician by giving light to the children of Israel and darkness against the Egyptians that were coming after them. He turned Himself to a warrior by killing the Egyptians in the Red Sea, He turned to a water corporation staff member by bringing out water from a rock, He turned to a scientist by turning the bitter water to sweet one, He became a doctor by making their feet not to swell up despite that they were walking for years, He became a supplier by supplying them with manna, He became a farmer by giving them fowls to kill and eat. God became almost everything to Moses! Indeed Moses knew Him as the I AM THAT I AM!

To have the best of God - His wealth inclusive - don't limit God by your knowledge; rather let your knowledge be subject to God! Knowledge is to study and know what has been in existence. But remember that it is God who brought all things into existence. So God is not subject to creations. Rather all things are subject to Him! He may choose to turn the day to a night and vice versa! Don't limit God in your life by basing Him on what you've known. God is the I AM THAT I AM. He can choose to be anything or anyone at anytime! It is not only that there is nothing God cannot do; it is also there is nothing God cannot be! The day you encounter God in the positive as the I AM THAT I AM your life will no more be the same! God has no permanent definition He is the I AM - you can only always define Him rightly by defining Him base on the present; that is, who He is in the present! To pass this message to us, He chose to create a creature called chameleon. You can't give a permanent colour of a chameleon. A chameleon changes colour at will and base on what it sees at present! Don't misquote me, God is not like a chameleon - the creator is greater than the creature!

EXODUS 3:21-22 [KJV]
And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty: But every woman shall borrow of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.

WISDOM SURPASSES POWER [EXODUS 3:21-22].
Whatever power achieves without wisdom, it will definitely achieve far more of it with wisdom! Power is good and great, but wisdom surpasses power. So to get the best of power we must apply wisdom to it. A wise but powerless man will achieve more and well than a powerful but foolish man. But the best man is a powerful and wise man! We should get wisdom at all cost and never despise power!

As powerful as God is He achieves more and with ease with wisdom than with power. In this our proof text God used wisdom. The Egyptians thought they were lending the Israelites the things (probably with interest) that was why they gave to them generously. They would not have given them that much or not have given at all if they knew that they would never be back to repay them.

God used wisdom for the Egyptians. What God did was an exercise of wisdom. They were borrowing what He knew they would never pay back! To forsake wisdom is to forsake ease and probably possibility. We struggle with so many things because we fail to apply wisdom. We miss many things because we fail to apply wisdom. We can do all things to get power, but hardly do anything to get wisdom! Power is profitable to perform; while wisdom is profitable to direct! Has power fail you in making wealth? Then apply wisdom for wealth making!

SUMMARY:
Wealth in God's kingdom is mainly a product of wisdom and knowledge! Our God is the God of wealth. But to experience Him as such we must have adequate knowledge of His wealth and also apply wisdom in our daily life!

CONCLUSION:
Wealth is inheritance in Christ Jesus to every believer that is truly ready to pay its price! To manifest the wealth of the unchanging Jesus we need knowledge and wisdom.

WISE SAYINGS FOR THE WEEK:

A wise but powerless man will achieve more and well than a powerful but foolish man!

It is not only that there is nothing God cannot do; it is also there is nothing God cannot be!

No man should give the full definition of God based on the part of God he knows!

Power is profitable to perform; while wisdom is profitable to direct!

The Bible reveals that we know in part, and no wonder that we show in part!

The definition we give to God is based on what we know about Him!

The God that you don't know is the God that you can't show!

The more of God you know is the more of God you have!

To forsake wisdom is to forsake ease and probably possibility!

To have all of God is to know all of God!

To have the best of God don't limit God by your knowledge; rather let your knowledge be subject to God!

We limit God's power base on the level of knowledge we have about Him!

And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.

JESUS AS THE SAVIOUR VERSUS JESUS AS THE LORD

A saviour refers to a person who saves someone or something from danger or difficulty. This person can also be referred to as a redeemer, a liberator or a rescuer. Having Jesus as the Saviour refers to having Him as someone who has redeemed one's soul from the destructive power of sins and hell. It is having Him as the person who has saved one from the shackles and destructive agents of sin. While having Jesus as the Lord is considered to be having Him as the one who has power and authority over you. Having Him as our Lord means that He has all it takes to order us around or order us about. This means we are ready and willing to submit to Jesus to direct our affairs and have the final say over us. Having Jesus as the Lord is allowing His rulership and given Him a free hand to work in one's life. It is accepting His domineering and superior manner over one's life.

However, it is a sad thing that a lot of Christians accept Jesus as their saviour, or as their personal saviour as commonly said, but never allow Him to be their Lord. They never allow Him to master, lead or direct the affairs of their lives. They don't accept His rulership over their lives, in their decision making and in their day-to-day activities; believing that since they have been saved from the destructive power of sin, they do not need His guidance anymore. They believe since they are now born again or saved from sin and its evil power, they have all it takes to pilot their own affairs without Jesus' interference. Relegating Jesus to be their Saviour and never their Lord!

Our proof text today depicts the fate of a man who allows Jesus to be his saviour but never his Lord. The man in our proof text got liberated from the power of sin and demons. His heart became clean and pure; but because nothing was found there thereafter, but rather his heart was empty and there was no one stirring the affairs of his life, nobody was sitting there as Lord, the spirit that was sent away from his heart came back with seven other spirits more wicked than himself to dwell therein. Had it been the man accepted the Lord Jesus who saved him from the demons as his Lord, Jesus would have been living in him and the demons would not have found him empty and suitable for their habitation.

This teaches us that it isn't just about accepting Jesus as our Saviour, we must also allow Him become our Lord; because it is dangerous for our hearts to be swept clean, garnished but left empty of Jesus. Let's consider the example of a house built but left empty. As time goes on, a lot of things will start happening to such house. Hoodlums are bound to enter such a house and make it their base; reptiles are free to creep in and out at anytime; and as they are doing this, they start informing others about such a place since it is safe and secure. But when a house is built and occupied, nothing unauthorized comes in and out at will because the house is occupied. It is a very dangerous thing for any Christian to build his/her house and left such a house empty.

We can see what happened to the man in our proof text all because he allowed Jesus to be only his saviour but never his Lord. We can see that the spirit brought seven more spirits more wicked than himself. This spirit didn't deem it fit to keep occupying the place alone as in the beginning but decided to bring in more spirits so they could abide there together. That is what happens to a Christian who only allows Jesus delivers him/her but allows Him not to master, direct, lead or guide him/her. The text ended with the state of that man being worse than the first. Just the way the spirit brought more wicked spirits to live there, so will problems invite more problems into the life of a man who allows Jesus as his Saviour but never as his Lord! Our proof text shows what will befall a man who does not allow Jesus to master him! We do not only need Jesus as our Saviour; much more than that we need Him as our Lord!

PROPHETIC PRAYERS:
1. Jesus, help me not to only accept You as my Saviour but also as my Lord.
2. Father help me to accept your lordship over my life. Help me never to find it difficult to accept your lordship and do your biddings at all time.
3. I receive the grace to make my end the best and not worse than my beginning!

PROPHETIC DECLARATION:
Receive the enablement to accept Jesus' lordship over your life. May the Lord grant you the grace not to be proud and be believing that accepting Jesus only as your saviour is sufficient enough. May your end never be worse than your beginning! May your end be the best!

When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.

SPIRITUAL DRYNESS AIDS DEMON POSSESSION

Dryness is a state of being dry. It is the degree to which something is dry. Spiritual dryness is therefore a state of being dry spiritually. It's a state of unfruitfulness. It is also a state whereby production is cancelled. Spiritual dryness attracts demons and their activities; whereas it deprives the Holy Spirit accommodation. This state of spiritual dryness is not meant for any genuine child of God. So, a child of God should do all he can never to put himself in such a state.

A state of spiritual dryness is a state that demands quick spiritual watering. Spiritual dryness should not be found in the lives of the children of God. Before there can be dryness, the feeling of being dehydrated must have first been in place. So, in the times of being dehydrated, we are supposed to run back to the Living Water, take our steps back to Him through prayer, meditation, fasting and devotion to Him. By doing this, our quest will begin to be fulfilled. Children of God should never see spiritual dryness as normal or allow it in any way. Spiritual dryness does not in any way add to us in any aspect as genuine children of God. Instead, it births all sort of evil things in our lives as children of God. A spiritually dry life becomes the habitation for all evil occurrences. God never created His own to experience even physical dryness not to talk of the spiritual which is much more dangerous.

Spiritual dryness attracts evil things. Evil spirits are always after men that are dry in the spirit. You can never see an evil spirit attempting to gain entrance into the life of a man who sees into watering himself daily. Take a look at the life of King Saul. The Bible confirms that he was being tormented by an evil spirit. Meanwhile, the evil spirit would not have been upon him suppose he wasn't spiritually dry. The Bible confirms that the Spirit of the Lord had left Saul; and God's absence automatically means a state of spiritual dryness which gave way to the evil occurrences in his life. But note, David wouldn't have been doing that task of playing for Saul successfully had it been he was not watered spiritually. It's only a state of being watered spiritually that can take away spiritual dryness and its effect.

Dry places are places lacking rivers of living water i.e. the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is what helps a man to be in God continuously. Jesus said it when He was going that He would send His Holy Spirit to us and that Holy Spirit would help us to do all things. In other words, through the help of the Holy Spirit, we will always thirst for more and more of God so as to never run dry. Even after being delivered from spiritual dryness, we are expected to make amends with God and go back to the place of watering. Never think there can never be reoccurrence of dryness. If you don't take the necessary steps you should, you will still find yourself in the state of which will be worse than the state you were before being delivered. A man delivered of demons must strive to be possessed with the Holy Spirit, that his place may no longer be a dry one!

As God's own, never take your spirit man into the place of dryness. It's not a good place for any of God's own. But the moment you discover yourself to be experiencing dryness, with speed, take the necessary steps back to God. Never stay in that position for too long. Spiritual dryness brings about an undesired life. It shatters a man's life and leaves him in a great mess. Rather than staying in that state of dryness, seek God as fast as you can. He will never deny you of another chance to be watered. A break with God is a break for dryness. In the state of spiritual dryness, our relationship with God is affected. We got denied of things which are supposed to take us up. We live a life filled with torment from the devil. We experience a life devoid of testimonies. The place of spiritual dryness is not meant for God's own. Do all in your possible best as God's own to always dwell in God continuously and to always drink from His word in order to avoid being dry.

PROPHETIC PRAYERS:
1. Oh God my Father, in every area of my life where I am experiencing spiritual dryness, please water me.
2. Oh God Almighty, I refuse to grow cold in You.
3. I decree and declare my life shall not be an abode for evil things.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION:
I see God watering you in every area of your life where you are experiencing spiritual dryness in Jesus name. Receive the grace you need not to grow cold in Jesus name. Your life shall not be an abode for evil things in Jesus name!

He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.

YOU CAN'T BE NEUTRAL

Men in their smartness like to sit on the fence over controversial cases or personalities. But the truth is that for them not to take a side for or against such a case or personality simply mean that they are benefitting from such a case or personality in one way or the other. It simply means that they don't want to lose what they are gaining from such a person neither do they want to lose favour from those that are against such a person! But the truth about life is that no man is neutral. Nobody can be truly neutral over a thing, case or person. It's either you're for something/someone or you're against such!

You can't be neutral in life. To be neutral means not taking sides. It is to be nonaligned. It means favouring neither the supporting nor opposing viewpoint of a topic of debate. It means being neither positive nor negative; being neither beneficial nor harmful. You can't have such a man like this in your life and think that you're safe in their hands. The Lord Jesus revealed it in our proof text that it's either a man is for Him or He's automatically against Him. He revealed that no man can be neutral to Him. Neutral men are men of pretence. They are dangerous men, because they are fake and unreliable men! Whosoever that cannot die for you deserves not to live by you! To the Lord Jesus if you're not for Him then you're automatically against Him. And if you're not gathering with Him then you're scattering what He is gathering or that He has gathered!

Hello? Do you expect me to be better and holier than the Lord Jesus? You must be kidding me if that's what you expect. Just in accordance with the belief and teaching of the Lord Jesus it's either you are with me or you are against me. You can't be neutral. If you don't want people to see you with me or my ministry then you are against me or my ministry. You can't be neutral. It's either you are for me or you are against me. You can't claim not to be against me while you're not supporting me! Stop playing on my intelligence! There's nothing called friend-enemy. Neither is there anything called enemy-friend. It's either you're my friend or you're my enemy!

PROPHETIC PRAYERS:
1. Father expose every fake men around me!
2. Father help me not to labour over fake men!
3. Father help me not to ignorantly despise those I should value!
4. Father I refuse to be using my own bread to feed my enemies for them to gain strength against me!

PROPHETIC DECLARATION:
May my Father expose every fake men around you in Jesus name! May my Father help you not to labour over fake men! May my Father help you not to ignorantly despise those you should value! May God be against every man that is against you; and be for only those that are for you! May you not use your own bread to feed your enemies for them to gain strength against you!

But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

GIVING GOD ATTENTION VERSUS BEING BUSY FOR GOD

Many Christians do mistake being busy for God for giving attention to God. No. The two are not the same. Being busy for God has to do with you doing things for God or because of God. Note that this may be what God demands from you or what you just think is good for God. Whenever a man is busy for God he is bound to have little or no time for God. Whereas giving attention to God is being at the service of God. It is to wait on God. It is to be doing things at the command of God; and to be attentive to God to know when He will not want the work to continue again. You can't give attention to someone you don't respect; but you may be busy for someone that you have no regards for, but that you're only being busy for due to some personal reasons.

According to our Lord Jesus in our proof text it is better and more profitable to give attention to God than to be busy for Him. As seen in our proof text Martha was busy cooking what she would use to entertain Jesus as her family guest. However, Mary was waiting on Jesus. She was at the feet of Jesus listening to Him and giving Him her undivided attention! She kept the company of Jesus for Him not to be bored; while Martha was busy to get Jesus what to eat. Jesus praised Mary and not Martha. What lesson do we learn from this? It is simply clear from this our proof text that there is nothing we can give to God or do for God that can be as important and valuable to God as when we give ourselves. Giving God your you is greater than giving God your whatever else!

Note that you can be jumping from one revival to the other and still not pleasing God. You may be using every day to preach Jesus to men and even be granting men counselling for them to be able to know God more, and God will still see you as depriving Him of yourself! You can be occupied with activities for God and God will still not be fully pleased with you. Yes. All the aforementioned are acts of being busy for God and not of giving God your attention. We give God our attention in the places of meditation, prayer and retreat - that is waiting on God! It is only when we get instruction from Him from any of these to do something that doing that thing will be being busy for God yet giving Him attention! Majority of Christians are only busy for God; God is seriously craving and crying for their attentions!

The only thing that is needful in life is to listen to God, to believe or honour Him, to lean on Him, to submit to Him. This Mary had done. Yes! That was all that Mary was doing simply by her giving of attention to the Lord Jesus! We cannot give God our attention and not be busy for Him at the same time. But we can be busy for God and as a result lose giving of attention to Him! And mind you, to give your attention to God is more profitable than to be busy for God.

PROPHETIC PRAYERS:
1. Father help me to set my priority right in life!
2. Father I receive the grace not to deprive You of my attention!

PROPHETIC DECLARATION:
Receive the grace to always set your priority right in life! May you no more deprive God of your attention! May God be fully pleased with you!
