The Higher than the Highest God. He creates everything according to his pleasure. He maketh man to rule over all things including this one. See how people flee for another living creature that God created. Due to it's nature. God you are so great .

Bible Text: Deuteronomy 5:6-21

THE LAW OF JUSTICE

"You shall not covet your neighbor's wife. You shall not set your desire on your neighbor's house or land, his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor." Deuteronomy 5:21, NIV

Laws are rules by which people live their lives. They may be influenced by nature and the natural environment of the society in which people live, and may have developed out of customs over the centuries. The laws that make up the constitution guard people's basic freedoms and guard them against the tyranny of a dictator. They allow people to live in peace and security, and people have a duty to obey them in order to protect the rights of one another. These laws should be right and just, so that people will respect them.
God gave the children of Israel laws to guide their daily activities, foster good relationship and avoid unnecessary conflict. God’s laws are to be obeyed and not questioned to ensure justice in relationship among believers. As God’s children, we must understand the law of God and pray for grace to live by it. We can only live by these laws by the enablement of the Holy Spirit. Do you know the Ten Commandments by heart? Consciously go through these laws and pray for grace to live by them.

Insight: Obeying God’s law helps our relationship with God and other people.

Prayer: Lord, help me to be conscious of Your laws at all times and give me the grace to obey them.

Bible Text: Acts 10:34-47

GOD SHOWS NO PARTIALITY

“Then Peter began to speak: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism.” Acts 10:34, NIV

Webster's Dictionary defines partial as "biased to one party; inclined to favor one party in a cause, or one side of a question, more than the other; not indifferent." A second meaning emphasizes favoring something "without reason," and a third, "affecting a part only; not general or universal; not total," implies dividing or separating things apart from the whole. The action of God in this passage made Peter understand the fact that God is not in the business of favouring one tribe or nation over another. Whatever God does is for everyone that chooses to accept it. This can be seen in the gift of salvation. God made the provision available to all men, but the Jews thought it was meant for them alone. God had to re-orientate Peter to know that salvation belongs to all. Sometimes, when people around us do great things, we might think God loves them more than us. The truth is God’s love is open to all who receive Him and walk daily with Him. God’s blessings are not based on any partial ground but the level of relationship with Him. Renew your relationship with Him today and you will also testify to His goodness.

Insight: The extent of our walk with God is the depth of His love we enjoy.

Prayer: Lord, help me to accept Your love for me.

Bible Text: Acts 10:23-33

PETER ENTERS CORNELIUS’S HOUSE

“He said to them: ’You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with a Gentile or visit him. But God has shown me that I should not call any man impure or unclean. So when I was sent for, I came without raising any objection. May I ask why you sent for me?’" Acts 10:28-29, NIV

During the American civil war, Abraham Lincoln met with a group of ministers for a prayer breakfast. One of the ministers said, “Mr. President, let us pray that God is on our side”. Lincoln’s response showed far greater insight, “No, gentlemen, let us pray that we are on God’s side.” To be on God’s side is to understand His will per time and be willing to follow through. It was a crime for a Jew to associate with a Gentile in the days of Peter in this passage, yet he went ahead to minister salvation in Cornelius’ house. He was not afraid of what men may do unto him. At the Word of God, he was ready to do anything. At the end, his obedience led to the conversion of many souls to the kingdom. God never promised us that obedience to His instruction will always be easy, but promised to supply grace to follow through and a reward for everyone who obey. What instruction has God given you and you are afraid because it contradicts existing systems? Obey and trust God to see you through and give you a testimony.

Insight: Obeying God’s instruction against all odds brings great reward.

Prayer: O God, give me the grace to obey Your instruction(s) at all times.
