ABIDE
One of the strongest messages of Jesus to us is to abide in him. To abide means to remain, stay, continue, or dwell. More deeply, it means to stay closely and daily connected in an ongoing, living relationship.
What many do with God is to use Him to either advance their lives from one level to another or use him to get out of their periodic troubles and afterwards continue their thing like "the deal is over for now until I'll be needing you again."
It's manageable for an unbeliever but great ignorance for a believer to live like this.
When you do not abide in him:
You lose life
You lose fruit
You lose strength
You lose clarity
You lose vitality
You lose good men
You lose protection
You lose power
You lose divine promises and privileges
You lose peace
How do you abide in Christ? You abide in Christ according to the life Christ showed us with the Father:
1. Feed on God's word daily
2. Pray multiple times daily (regular communication)
3. Obey the word of God you've been taught
4. Be in frequent fellowship in the house of God with the brethren (be present every time church meets offline and online)
5. Depend on Jesus always and not your own understanding or effort
6. Remove whatever is blocking or breaking your connection with God (sin, esteems, relationships and distractions that replace or crowd out God)
7. Yield your life a living sacrifice never out of service to God. Be actively involved in pleasing God through the good works he commanded (primarily preaching, baptising, teaching and healing- Matt.28:19-20)
When you make yourself available for Jesus privately and corporately like his first twelve, then you are abiding in him.
Mar 3:14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,
Now receive grace to abide, in Jesus name!
