ABIDE
One of the strongest messages of Jesus to us is to abide in him. To abide means to remain, stay, continue, or dwell. More deeply, it means to stay closely and daily connected in an ongoing, living relationship.

What many do with God is to use Him to either advance their lives from one level to another or use him to get out of their periodic troubles and afterwards continue their thing like "the deal is over for now until I'll be needing you again."

It's manageable for an unbeliever but great ignorance for a believer to live like this.

When you do not abide in him:

You lose life
You lose fruit
You lose strength
You lose clarity
You lose vitality
You lose good men
You lose protection
You lose power
You lose divine promises and privileges
You lose peace

How do you abide in Christ? You abide in Christ according to the life Christ showed us with the Father:
1. Feed on God's word daily
2. Pray multiple times daily (regular communication)
3. Obey the word of God you've been taught
4. Be in frequent fellowship in the house of God with the brethren (be present every time church meets offline and online)
5. Depend on Jesus always and not your own understanding or effort
6. Remove whatever is blocking or breaking your connection with God (sin, esteems, relationships and distractions that replace or crowd out God)
7. Yield your life a living sacrifice never out of service to God. Be actively involved in pleasing God through the good works he commanded (primarily preaching, baptising, teaching and healing- Matt.28:19-20)

When you make yourself available for Jesus privately and corporately like his first twelve, then you are abiding in him.

Mar 3:14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,

Now receive grace to abide, in Jesus name!

COMPELLED TO COMMIT
The pattern our Lord Jesus left us for bringing and keeping his people in the kingdom is to compel them. Compel because their imposter master the devil is usually tough on his hold on captive souls. There's no other alternative left us for an example.

This is what we see Jesus do in Mark 1:16-20 and repeat in many other portions of Scripture like his encounter with the woman by the well who eventually yielded.

Mark 1
16 Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

17 And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

18 And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.

19 And when he had gone a little further thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.

20 And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.

Jesus is the one who used the word "compel" to describe how we are able to get this assignment done and get his house and kingdom full.

To compel means to force, strongly persuade, or drive someone to do something—often because of strong pressure, necessity, or influence.

To be very fruitful in this kingdom and stop giving excuses, we first give ourselves to the highly demanding, time-consuming and rigorous soul-winning and disciple-making training that turns us into sharp threshing instruments who can make God proud anywhere and everywhere. Those too lazy to give themselves to God's training either run away unto vanity or live a pseudo Christian life, never producing fruits of righteousness.

The quality of your training is measured by your capacity to compel souls from darkness to light- and keep them in the light, knowing and serving the Lord in ever increasing measure.

Just like our Lord Jesus Christ, we compel souls by strong preaching, sound teaching, mighty power, undeniable miracles and good works. We compel souls by going beyond inviting them to bringing them like that "anagkazo servant" to the house of God.

For every soul compelled, your goal must be same goal of Jesus: to make the most willing able ministers of the new testament (apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers like Peter, Andrew, James and John above) irrespective of the occupations, professions, businesses and careers you meet them; and the less willing capable disciples bearing ministry financial burdens and more, like Joseph of Arimathaea (Matt.27:57).

Don't forget: men are compelled to commit.

Receive fresh compelling grace to fulfil your ministry, in Jesus' name!

THIS IS MANDATORY
One serious message of our Lord Jesus Christ in the gospel according to St. Matthew is what is generally referred to as the great commission.

In Matthew 28:19-20 the Lord gave a command to make disciples (students, grace interns) of every nation by taking them through three important steps:

Preaching
Baptism and
Teaching

Matthew 28:19-20
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

This command although was directly given to the apostles and disciples of Jesus who were with him then is applicable to every believer in Christ, and this includes you reading. Why? The reason is because of two scriptures that interpret this clearly to us:

Mark 13:37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

2 Corinthians 5:17-19
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. note

18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

It's important you know that whatever work God has assigned to you he will require of you to give account, like the man who gave talents to his servants expecting trading and profit before his return.

Now how can you begin fulfilling your part in this assignment and ministry in your trust?

1. Become a student under grace and start learning wholeheartedly, hungry and humble. Remember that students do not skip classes nor select the subjects, teachings or topics for their class (James 1:21, 1Pet.2:2, 3John1:3-4).

2. Get baptized in the Holy Spirit for foundational empowerment (Acts 1:8, Acts 19:1-6).

3. Be given to daily Bible study and prayers according to what our Lord Jesus prescribed. These will help you to be in alignment with the will of God, leading of the Holy Spirit and the power of God (Acts17:11, 1Thess.5:17)

4. Get trained on soul winning and disciple-making so as to be very fruitful. He that winneth souls is wise (2Tim.2:15, Prov.11:30).

5. While you learn, get actively participating in every Evangelism, outreach or MassReach in the local church. Practice makes perfect. The more you participate in reaching the lost and in soul winning the better you become in bearing and keeping fruits.

6. Always make prayers for those you minister to so as to stand perfect and complete in the will of God, and also begin saving others.

7. All those you approach to win to Christ must be taken through the same three steps, the middle step requiring that you teach them ALL that Jesus did and taught, illustrated in the Apostolic ministry.

Remember without being actively involved in disciple-making you aren't doing what you're in Christ for, your salvation is useless, and you aren't preparing to meet the Lord. This command is mandatory.

I pray the Lord will help you to wake up and fulfil the assignment and ministry you have received in Him to His pleasure, in Jesus' name!

STORMED BUT STANDING
Many fall after a strong storm. What you become after an attack on your house depends on the strength of your building. The Bible emphatically says that a wise man is strong and a man of knowledge increases strength (Prov.24:5).

In the teaching and illustration of Jesus, believers who aren't doers of the word grow old but never grow up spiritually enough to be able to ride and rise through the storms of life. Let's read:

Matthew 7
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

You see, we may give titles and responsibilities people based on their frequency in church like Apostle Judas but the real growth status of a believer is revealed when there is trouble and fire on the mountain, especially prolonged trials.

The falls of this house described by Jesus is when a believer breaks down demoralised in despondency or backslides, abandoning purpose for vanity or returning back to old ways.

On the contrary, a believer who hears and does the word, ever committed to truth is firmly trusting and ever rising through the exact same storms of life. Glory to God!

Jesus says none doers of the word are fools whose lives continue to cycle in pains, losses and tears building houses, investments, businesses, careers, relationships and their world in vain.

Receive wisdom and discipline to commit to God's word, in Jesus' name!

THE BLESSING THROUGH THE TESTAMENTS
The book of Malachi is a prophetic burden specially to God's people who do not have respect unto the covenant ("do not" because it's still applicable to God's people today with similar nonchalance).

Malachi 1
7 Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the LORD is contemptible.

8 And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts.

From Abraham down to the new testament, we see that the blessing finds evident expression in the lives of those who have respect to the covenant.

Those who despise or ignore it never look blessed. It's for this reason we have many scriptural and life examples of Abraham's seed who look like strangers to the covenants of promise.

Before we plunge into this, is "covenant" still applicable or relevant in the new testament to the new creation in Christ under grace? We will find the answer in two portions of the new testament:

Eph 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

Gal.3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

What do you think? The answer is YES; we are still covenant people who must have respect unto the covenant.

Psa 74:20 Have respect unto the covenant...

Abraham was blessed in all things because he demonstrated his faith and works in respect to the covenant.

James 2
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

Faith, in believing God.
Works, in offering to God required and pleasing sacrifices.

The people and nations before us who honoured God by committing to the covenants were the greatest of all people. Glory to God!

The people and nations before us who abandoned this ancient pathway to walk in their vain imagination and intelligence became ordinary, reduced, small, stagnated, despised and destroyed by enemies.

We must learn from these and walk in wisdom early.

Righteousness, tithing, firstfruiting, offering, and the likes are established truths for showing respect to the covenant.

You need to understand today that it's not the economy of your country that's making life harder for you. It's your attitude and commitment to the covenant. Didn't you read in the scriptures that people have prospered in famine and hardship like they were in another realm (Gen.26 and more)?

The book of Malachi shows us a people offering God corrupted worship and suffering the consequences from hearts corrupted by assumptions, grudges, murmuring, and doctrines of devils such as we have even in today's church.

May God help our recovery and revival, in Jesus' name!

NOT BY MIGHT
"Not by might" is divine invitation to let go and let God.

After returning from exile, the Jews were trying to rebuild the temple under Zerubbabel. But they faced:
-Opposition from enemies
-Limited resources
-Weak manpower
-Discouragement and fear
The project had stalled.

"Not by might" is a prophetic and timely message to let God take over in the face of effort and labour without result, yet without suggesting or promoting irresponsibility. It's a call to stop making undependable flesh your arm. It's a message to stop trusting in yourself (in your ability, qualification and connection) but in God. It's a revelation to save you from a life of continuous disappointments and frustration that unavoidably accompany self-reliance. It's a message to remind you that there's nothing much you can do or accomplish by yourself in a world controlled by superior spirits and supernatural beings with extra intelligence and might. It's a call to early acknowledge, submit to and partner with the Spirit of the Almighty God and fulfil with ease your dominion mandate.

Zec.4:6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

How do you really allow the Spirit of God take over to enjoy life's ease that follows His power and wisdom?

1. Surrender your life and your situation to God in prayer.

2. Acknowledge that you're weak and tell Him to carry you like you can do nothing.

3. Familiarise yourself with the word and ways of God by feeding regularly on God's word.

4. Renew your mind to understand the will of God and become spiritually minded.

5. When dealing with any case, seek for what God's written word says (through scriptural people and events) and what the Holy Spirit is saying or leading to do.

6. Give thanks to God for intervention that can be trusted.

7. Confirm the word and respond by action.

Wherever you're facing difficulty and resistance today, I pray the Lord will take over even as you surrender to Him right now, in Jesus' name!

RESPONSIBILITY AND IRRESPONSIBILITY IN THE HOUSE OF GOD

Amazing! The people's hardship was a result of neglecting the responsibilities in the house of God. This was the central prophecy of Haggai, who brought God's word to Israel. Read it for yourself...

Haggai 2:1-8
2 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD'S house should be built.

3 Then came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying,

4 Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste?

5 Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.

6 Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.

7 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.

8 Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD.

The expressway to enrol for a hard life as a believer is irresponsibility in the house of God despite increasing in the knowledge of God.

Has this changed in our days, in the new testament? Not at all. Paul the Apostle taught his people and the church that the saints are perfected not just to know God and prosper but primarily for the work of the ministry; and that those who sow sparingly reap sparingly; and finally that those who sow to their flesh (who pursue self) reap corruption but those who who sow to the spirit reap things eternal (Eph.4:12, 2Cor.9:6 and Gal.6:8).

Our Lord Jesus said in Mat 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." And in John 12:26 "If any man serve me him will my father honour."

Once you start neglectng the house of God, you start reducing your value and lot with God.

I pray you will recover yourself today, right now, and take up every responsibility you have abandoned in the house of God, in Jesus' name!

ATTENTION TO WARNINGS

One habit of God found across scriptures is warnings before judgement.

Read the following scriptures carefully, especially verse 6 which you should read twice...

Zephaniah 1
4 I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place...

5 And them that worship the host of heaven...

6 And them that are turned back from the LORD; and those that have not sought the LORD, nor enquired for him. (Referring to backslidden believers and people who have never come to Him in spite of repeated preachings to their hearing).

We find God's warnings repeated in the prophetic books of the Bible where God warned every nation he later bought judgement upon.

When you hear God's voice, harden not your heart like many do to their detriment. God is not a man who says what he can't do. He's a promise keeper both in the positive and in the negative.

Pro 29:1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

Ignore Him, His word, or His prophets to your detriment.

The following are the reasons why God warns before judgement:

1. To Give People Opportunity to Repent

2. To Demonstrate God’s Mercy

3. To Show That His Judgment Is Just

4. To Separate the faithful accidentally in error from the Wicked intentionally in error.

5. To Reveal and Remind of God’s Authority and Holiness

How does God warn His people today? Whenever a message in the Bible, in church or in the street during morning cry is addressing where you're in error, God is warning and expecting your change. Whenever you stumble into a post on Social media addressing where you've gone astray, God is warning. When you hear His voice harden not your heart (Heb.3:15).

Receive grace for quick repentance and urgent turnaround whenever you hear God's warning, in Jesus' name!

LIVE BY FAITH

Habakkuk prophesied during a time of violence, corruption, unrest and looming invasion (late 7th century BC). He questioned God about injustice in Judah. God replied that He would use Babylon to judge Judah—but Babylon would also be judged. In that setting of fear and uncertainty comes this key statement:

Hab 2:4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

This means that not every confidence is faith.

This means that God frowns at self confidence which manifests as pride but is pleased by confidence in him which is faith.

When life feels unstable → live by faith.
When prayers seem unanswered → live by faith.
When injustice persists → live by faith.
When outcomes are uncertain → live by faith.
When everyone around you seems to be tired of waiting on God and are now doing things their way, compromising on His word→ live by faith.

Faith means trusting the end result when you can't see God's hand involved, once you’ve prayed.

I pray God will find you in faith no matter what you face, in Jesus' name!

MERCY AND JUDGEMENT
Nineveh is Scriptural illustration for God's mercy and judgement. Mercy, where there's genuine and sustained repentance, and judgement when men revert; or when God, His word, His prophet, is ignored.

Nahum 1
1 The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkosh*te.
3 The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked...

What were the sins of Nineveh for which God's attention was drawn with prophetic warnings following?

According to Book of Nahum, Nineveh was destroyed for persistent wickedness, especially:

Violence and bloodshed – Called a “city of blood” (Nahum 3:1), known for brutality in war.

Cruelty and oppression – The Assyrian Empire was infamous for harsh treatment of conquered peoples.

Lies and treachery – Described as full of deceit and plunder (Nahum 3:1).

Idolatry and sorcery – Accused of witchcraft and spiritual corruption (Nahum 3:4).

Pride and arrogance – Boasted in power and trusted in military strength rather than justice.

Two prophets were sent to warn and prophesy against Nineveh: Jonah and Nahum.

Nineveh repented at Johah's warning, and God spared it at that time. Nearly as soon as Nineveh was spared, the people returned back to their old vomit and ways, like many believers do especially under grace.

Again God sent Nahum to prophesy against the city God's coming destruction. This time, Nineveh had become familiar with God, God's prophet, His word, His long-suffering and His mercy- and thus did not see anything serious in Nahum's message, except an old "empty threat" and familiar message line and prophetic utterance that wouldn't come to pass like Jonah's. Therefore, this time, Nineveh did not repent (like many new creation believers play with God's word and servants), and the city was eventually destroyed in 612 BCE.

Nineveh's destruction, permitted by God, was a coalition of the Babylonia (led by Nabopolassar) and the Medes (under Cyaxares) who besieged and captured the city. The fall of Nineveh, the capital of Assyria, marked the collapse of the Assyrian Empire as a dominant power in the ancient Near East.

Eccl. 8:11
Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

I pray that your case will not be like Nineveh's, in Jesus' name!

DESPISED BUT CHOSEN
One habit of God is to use the despised, rejected, insignificant, and even foolish to accomplish His assignment, glorify His name and confound the wise.

Micah 5:2
But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

Guess where God chose and who God chose to use for global impact- Bethlehem and Nazareth, despised cities, and one born in a manger who didn't go to school but later became a carpenter. God's anointing on him and God with him, he excelled beyond the most educated religious people from the most privileged and respected families.

Now see what came out of Bethlehem...

Micah 5:2
But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

Joh 1:46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

Now see what came out of Nazareth...

Act 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

This character of God gives every man a chance in His programme, including you who doesn't think you're worth the attention of your family, location, territory, how much more the world. Hear me, God says to tell you that you're worth hearing; you're worth his sponsorship. Whenever you're ready He is ready.

Therefore stop looking down on yourself or the family you come from like Gideon and Saul who become some of the greatest men of all dispensations. You can shake the world for Jesus!

1Cor.1
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.

Now receive grace, faith and courage to arise and shine, in Jesus' name!
