Text: Ruth 4:1-6

Boaz's actions in this passage demonstrate his kindness, integrity, and commitment to following God's laws. He ensured that the nearer kinsman is given the opportunity to redeem the land and marry Ruth, showcasing his fairness and respect for tradition. As believers, we must be ready to demonstrate kindness to all, regardless of class, age or title in the society. Boaz, who was a next kinsman bought the land and married Ruth. Ruth's marriage to Boaz ultimately led to her integration into the family of King David and her inclusion in the genealogy of Jesus (Matt.1:5-6).
The passage today illustrates God's sovereignty and providence in the lives of His people. Despite the challenges and uncertainties faced by Naomi and Ruth, God worked behind the scenes to bring about redemption and restoration. Boaz's actions demonstrate the importance of faith and obedience in our lives. As we seek to follow God's laws and principles, we can trust that He will guide and direc us. The passage reminds us of God's desire to redeem and restore His people. Through the story of Ruth and Boaz, we see a powerful illustration of God's love and redemption, which ultimately points to the redemption we have. Finally, everything we lost through sin has been restored to us by the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ at the cross of Calvary which we connect to as we accept Jesus as our Lord and personal Saviour.

Prayer: Lord, I trust that you will turn things around for my redemption andrestoration. Make me an instrument to restore others. Amen.

Topic: GROWING IN THE WORD OF GOD
Text: Luke 2:41-52

In our text today, we see that Jesus' parents took Him to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover, as was customary for Jewish families. When Jesus was 12 years old, they made the journey as usual. However, on the return trip, Jesus'parents realised He was missing. They searched for Him among their relatives and friends but couldn't find Him. Eventually, they returned to Jerusalem and found Jesus in the Temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking questions. When Mary and Joseph asked Jesus why He had stayed behind, He replied,"Why were you searching for me? Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?"(Luke 2:49). From this response, we observe Jesus' quest to learn from advanced teachers. As believers, regardless of our status, we must humble ourselves to deepen our knowledge of God through intentional study and submission to those ahead of us. The time Jesus spent earning was never a waste as we see the evidence in Luke 2:52 "And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God andman."
In Isaiah 37:31 also, we see that the depth of our root will determine how fruitful wewill become. To surrender to Christ is the first step to knowing Him but to become a fruitful Christian, we must turn away from the distractions of this age and study our Bible and other Christian literature if we want to grow in God. Resolve to spend time in the place of study.

Prayer: Lord, put in me a hunger for your word and fill me with grace to live out your word at all times. Amen

Topic: A FAITHFUL STEWARD IN GOD'S PLAN
Text: Ruth 3:1-18

Our Bible text reveals a powerful story of trust, obedience, and divine providence for those who are considered faithful stewards. In our reading, we observe that Naomi advised Ruth to approach Boaz, the family's kinsman-redeemer, for marriage. It also reveals how Ruth courageously followed Naomi's guidance, and humbly presented herself at Boaz's feet. Her actions reflect deep humility, faith, and submission to God's plan. Again, we see Boaz, a man of integrity, responding with kindness and honour. He acknowledged Ruth's noble character and promised to act in her best interest while ensuring that the proper legal processes were followed. This moment emphasises God's providence in arranging events and relationships to fulfil His purposes.
Ruth's faith and obedience remind us to trust God even in uncertain times. She took a bold step, not knowing the outcome, but her trust in God and respect for Naomi's wisdom, led to blessings. Similarly, Boaz's integrity highlights the importance of being faithfl stewards of our roles in God's plans. This passage encourages Christians to seek godly wisdom, act with humility, and trust God's timing, understanding that He works through ordinary acts of faithfulness to bring about extraordinary blessings. Let us walk in obedience, knowing God's plans are always for our good and His glory.

Prayer: Heavenly father; grant me grace to walk in obedience, knowing that you areworkingfor mygood.

Text: Ruth 2:18-23

In today's text, we see a beautiful display of God's care through the seemingly ordinary acts of human kindness. Ruth, after gleaning in the fields of Boaz, returns home to Naomi with an abundance of grain, a provision that surpasses their immediate needs. This act of abundance is a reminder of God's faithful provision for His people, even in difficult circumstances. We are equally reminded of how Naomi recognised Boaz's kindness and revealed that he was a close relative, a potential redeemer. This revelation filled her with hope, signaling a turning point from despair to anticipation of God's plan unfolding. Ruth's diligence, humility, and faithfulness to Naomi are rewarded through God's guidance and Boaz's generosity.
This passage therefore challenges us to trust in God's provision and timing, even when life seems dark. It also encourages us to be instruments of His kindness, like Boaz, who acted selflessly and with integrity. God often works through the ordinary to accomplish the extraordinary, weaving our stories into His greater plan of redemption. Let us remain faithful, diligent, and hopeful, trusting that God is always at work, even in the smallest details of our lives.

Prayer: Oh God, help me in my walk with you to remain faithful, trusting that your plan for me is the best.

DATE: MONDAY, MARCH 16, 2026
TOPIC: HUMILITY AND INDUSTRY
READ: RUTH 2:1-17

THE MESSAGE:

Our text presents two persons of different backgrounds and class: Boaz, a high and wealthy man and Ruth, a lowly and poor widow. Though different, these 2 persons displayed lifestyles of great virtues. The first virtue is humility. Ruth cheerfully accepted her situation and lived within her circumstances. On his part, Boaz did not think of himself too highly to associate with the lowly in society. The second virtue was industry. Both of them engaged in honest employment.

Ruth, though unfamiliar with her new environment, stepped out for opportunities, loving pain more than the bread of idleness. Boaz was fully involved in business - supervising and encouraging his workers.
The third virtue was faith in God. Though she did not know which way to go or who to meet, Ruth trusted divine providence to raise her a helper, an act of faith that paid off for her. The fourth virtue was Boaz allowing GOD to make him a source of help - he willingly, without any negative motives, used his God-given wealth to bless the poor and needy.
From the above, we learn that looking out for the wellbeing of others, and adding humility to our industry, are rewarding godly virtues. We also learn that we do not need to be shy of honest employment because labour is not a reproach. Finally, we learn that we are blessed to be a blessing.

PRAYER: Lord, make me a person of faith, humility and industry so I can be an instrument of blessing to those around me and to my generation. Amen.

Topic: OUR TRANSFORMATION
Text: Matthew 17:1-13

Out text today begins with the time transfiguration of Jesus occurred "after six days" (v. l). What happened then, I supposed, was the discussion in Matthew 16:21 when Jesus informed His disciples of His suffering, death and resurrection. This certainly didn't go down well with them as seen in Peter's response in Matthew 16:22. To them, Christ, the Son of God, shouldn't suffer pain and death. They were discouraged, and had doubts about Jesus' true identity. To encourage them, Jesus scheduled a mountain top experience. This higher level of intimacy and communion with God in a separated place, revealed the divine nature of Jesus, as his flesh was transformed into a glorious body. The presence of Moses and Elijah aIso indicated their affirmation of Christ as the fulfilment of the law and the prophets. Having been reassured, the disciples expressed their conviction of the deity and divinity of Christ in John 1:14 and 2 Peter 1:16.
When life's complications and confusion bring doubt and uncertainty on our faith and beliefs, we, like the disciples, must remember that we are called up to a place of higher intimacy and communion with God, for our transfiguration which is accomplished by the renewal ofour minds. And by intimate fellowship with unveiled faces beholding the glory of the Lord, we are transformed into the same image, from glory to glory.

Prayer: Lord, please bring me into a higher level of intimacy and communion with you so that my life will be transformed. Amen.

Topic: Building on a Firm Foundation
Text: Luke 6:46–49

Jesus asks a powerful question:
"Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?"

Many people profess faith with their lips, yet their lives do not reflect obedience to God's word. True discipleship is not just about what we say—it is about what we do.

Jesus illustrates this truth with two builders. One digs deep and lays his foundation on rock; the other builds without a foundation. When the storms come—trials, temptations, and life’s challenges—only the house built on the solid rock stands firm.

The difference is simple but profound: obedience. When we hear God’s word and put it into practice, our lives become strong, stable, and unshakable in every season.

Today, take a moment to reflect:
Are you only hearing God’s word, or are you also living it? Are you building on shifting sand or on the solid rock of Christ?

Following God's instructions may require sacrifice and patience, but it leads to a life that can withstand every storm.

Prayer:
Lord, help me not only to hear Your word but to live by it. Teach me to build my life on the firm foundation of Your truth so that I may stand strong through every trial. Amen.

Topic: HOW IS YOUR HEART?
Text: Luke 6:38-45

Jesus'teaching in Luke 6:38-45 highlights an essential truth:The condition of our hearts determines the quality of our words, actions, and relationships. The Lord calls us to live with generosity, discernment, and integrity. He also reminds usthat what we give -whether kindness, judgment, or forgiveness-will return to us in full measure. In verses 43-45, Jesus uses the illustration of trees and their fruits to explain this. A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. Similarly, our hearts are like trees, and our words and actions are the fruit. If our hearts are filled with love, peace, and gratitude, our lives will reflect those virtues. But if envy, bitterness, or pride reside within, they will overflow into our speech and behaviour.
This passage challenges us to examine what we store in our hearts. Are we cultivating the Word of God, or are we harbouring negativity and sin? The mouth speaks what the heart treasures. To bear good fruit, we must draw close to Christ daily, allowing His Spirit to ceanse, transform, and fill us.

Prayer: Lord, help me to guard my heart and fill it with your truth. Maymy life and words reflect your goodness and love. Amen.

TOPIC: YOU ARE BLESSED AMIDST ALL ODDS
READ: LUKE 6:20-2

20 Looking at his disciples, he said:
“Blessed are you who are poor,
for yours is the kingdom of God.
21 Blessed are you who hunger now,
for you will be satisfied.
Blessed are you who weep now,
for you will laugh.
22 Blessed are you when people hate you,
when they exclude you and insult you
and reject your name as evil,
because of the Son of Man.
23 “Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets.

THE MESSAGE:

St. Luke captures the beatitudes (i. e. pronouncement of supreme blessings), in our text today. These are the blessings that follow those who put their total trust in God. For the poor in spirit, theirs is the kingdom of God. To those who now hunger, God shall fill them with good things, and for the weeping, though it endures for a night, joy and laughter shall surely come forth in the morning (Psalm 30:5).

Beloved, have you been hated? Are you till now hated, looked down on, mocked and disowned? Listen to the words of our Lord Jesus Christ for you now: “Rejoice and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven” (verse 23). As we go through this year's Lenten Season, may we be reassured of God's never-failing promises and presence. You are blessed amidst all odds.

PRAYER: Dear Lord and Father, help me to be strong in You despite the circumstance. Amen.
