LAST FRIDAY ON CHESCA…
Laying the right foundation
“All scripture is given by the inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”
-2 Timothy3:16
The word is for doctrine-learning /teaching, reproof-evidence/conviction. The word is the final authority of a believer. Jesus speaking in Matthew 7:24-26, He talked about two sets of people- Those who built their house on the rock and those who did on the sand. Those who build theirs on the rock are those that HEAR and DO the sayings of Christ. What matters is the foundation on which the house is built. Your foundation is a product of your conviction. For a man to do something, it is a product of what he has believed.
The question is; what is your conviction?
The Bible is not the word of God. The bible points us to the word. The word is a person (John 1:1-5). That person is Christ. The bible points us to Christ. Without a conviction, one can’t do anything worthwhile. A short story in Matthew 15:25-28 shows us how a woman had a strong conviction that the Christ will heal her daughter and He did.
How far you will go in life is built on the foundation of God’s word. The word tells your position and your person in Christ. James 1:18 tells us that God birthed us of his own will. You are what the word says you are. You are born of God (1 John 4:4, 1 John 5:4-5). In Christ, you prosper in all. This is our conviction in Christ. You must come into the revelation of what God has done for you and that is only possible through the word. Nobody can define your life. Only Christ can! In Him we live, move and have our being. Your life is hid in Christ so it is untouchable. You are not determined by the things around you. What determines you is from within-- The greater one in you (1 John 4:4).
The word is a mirror. It reveals your perfect image. We are renewed and transformed by the word (2 Corinthians 3:18, Romans 12:2). Whatever God has not said, you don’t accept.
Our conviction is Christ, the word. Glory to God!

FOLLOWING GOD’S PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE
God has a plan for everybody; it is the responsibility of every person to fulfil God’s plan for his life. I Corinthians 9:27; here, Paul elucidated that HE did put his body under subjection (not God). Hebrews 12:1: …and let US run with patience the race that is set before us. The race is our personal duty, not God’s. It is our responsibility to fulfil our ministries.
God’s plan for every man is in Christ. His ultimate plan is to put everything under Christ i.e. to bring all men to Christ (2 Peter 2:9, 1 Timothy 2:4). Everything about you in Christ is to make that plan progress.
KNOWING GOD’S PLAN
John 8:12, Romans 8:14.
A believer does not seek to be led; his nature is to be led. He is led because he is a son. It is a birth right. A believer does not seek direction; he has direction. A sheep does not try to recognise its shepherd’ voice so also we believers do not try to recognise the master’s voice. We know it because he is our shepherd.
1. 2 Timothy 3:16- We are primarily led by the written word of God.
2. 1 john 2:20, Romans 8:14- We are led by the inward witness
3. Don’t be led by opportunities, but by the Spirit of God.
4. Don’t be too desperate in making decisions.
SHARPENING DISCERNMENT
1. Hebrews 10:25-Supernatural relationships/influence
2. Constant study of God’s word
3. Pray regularly
4. Wait on God.

LAST FRIDAY ON CHESCA…
Walking in Love (3):1 Corinthians 13 v 4-8
Taking offences impedes our love walk with God; Un-forgiveness is like taking poison and expecting someone else to die. Forgetting is choosing not to remember. It is a conscious decision we take. It isn’t a feeling/emotion. Naturally, man wills not to forgive after being offended but in Christ, we let love keep our will on its kneels.
Walking in love does not mean we won’t get hurt, but it is our decision to forget and keep walking in love. We are love beings but we decide to live our nature, that is, we decide to walk in love. Love is a decision not in the natural.
In Christ, we have the ability to love, but the question is, “Are we growing in that love?” The heart is to be brought under subjection by the spirit of love and this happens when we keep renewing our minds. We grow in love by renewing our minds with the word. When we constantly feed our minds with the word, the Holy Spirit makes those words available when we are about to go contrary to love.
Rom 8 v 8-10: Finally, we are spirit beings that dwell in a body. We have the mind of the flesh and the spirit, but we choose to submit to that of the spirit because that is of love, the mind of God.
Pray: Lord, I choose by your Spirit to constantly walk in your love. Amen!

LAST FRIDAY ON CHESCA…
Walking in Love (2): Man’ response to God’ love
Rom 5 v 5: “…because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy ghost…” When you come into the family of Christ, God’s love is shed abroad in our hearts; Love becomes our nature. But, why do some still find it hard to love?
Deu 6v4-5 lets us understand that loving God back with all our heart, soul and might is man’s response to his love and we do this by fellowshipping with the father in worship, prayer and meditation (John 4 v 24). Fellowship is a love walk. In the beginning, God wanted a family to interact with, a family that will serve him and reciprocate his love, so he created Adam and eve. God loved fellowship right from the outset that even when man fell, he gave his only begotten son to restore man.
Back to the question asked, “Why is it difficult to show love today”. Here lies the answer. Matt 11 v 1-6: “…6And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me”. Loving is difficult when we decide to take offences. Some are just angry at everything around even, sometimes with themselves also. Taking offences limits our fellowship with God because the devil will hold it against. The prince of this world is always looking for our faults. He also searched Jesus but found nothing in him (John 14v30).
Offences bring stagnation and frustration. Matt 18 v 7: “Woe unto the world because of offences! For it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!” Offences will come but it is our duty not to accept. In the time of Job, offences came, but he never spoke against God even though the devil looked for ways for him to be offended against God.
Refuse to be offended today for the sake of your fellowship with God.

LAST FRIDAY ON CHESCA…
Walking in Love (1)
John 7 v 37-38: “…out of his belly shall flow rivers of living waters”
Matt 12 v 34: “…for out of the abundance of the heart…”
As a being, you can’t give what you don’t have. It is important for it to be in you for you to bring it forth. God is not just interested in us walking in love but in us BEING love. God is love (1 john 4 v 8) and we are born of God so therefore, we are LOVE BEINGS. The life of God is the life from the inside out. We do not try to be; we are!
Anything God wants us to be, He is. For example, be ye holy as He is; be ye perfect as He is. Do you know what God told Moses when he asked for the reply to give to the Israelites if they asked the name of the God that sent him? God replied, I AM THAT I AM (Exodus 3 v 14). We must believe that GOD IS (Heb 11 v 6).
It is not enough to have the mental concordance that God is love; the understanding has to saturate our spirit. Walking in love is not but actions; it is more of Being (a continuous state of existence). God does not want us to define ourselves by our actions but by who we are; we are love beings.
Isaiah 55 v 8-9 lets us understand that the ways of God are far greater than ours. The things to seek about God are not his acts but his ways. Love is not in the realm of the natural so you don’t seek it there. Love is neither an emotion nor a feeling. It is a fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5 v22-23). Love is of a recreated Spirit (1 Corinthians 13). We all grow in Love; no one is perfect in it.
Pray: Lord, help me understand what love truly is.

Happy New Year everyone!!!
LAST FRIDAY ON CHESCA…
Isaiah 48 v 17: Thus saith the lord, thy redeemer, the holy one of Israel; I am the Lord thy God who teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.
“Thus saith the lord” is an expression of the prophetic. There is a way God wants you to go this year and that way is purposed for profit. Have you ever wondered what His thoughts are towards you; It is thoughts of peace and not of evil,to give you an expected end..Glory!!
There are ways, even though some of them seem right, the end thereof are ways of death(Proverbs 16v25). This year, you can’t go without the confidence that God is with you, to show you the path to follow. This year, God has promised not only to teach us to profit but to lead us also. Wow!...In Exodus 13v17, we were made to understand that to be led of God is for God’ presence to be with one.
Pray: God,I submit myself to you, lead me by the way.
Isaiah 43 v 18: Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. When God leads us by the way, we are to forget the things of the past; the disappointments, the successes, the snafus, losses amongst others. When you dwell on the things of the past, you are tied to a spot and progression is stymied because, what you continually behold, you become.
1 peter 5 v 7: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. This year, you(yes I mean you) have to move closer to God. When you fast and pray, you shut the flesh and you make alert your spirit to God’ divine signal. Remember God in the days of your youth!..fast and pray now and get set for an encounter with God.
Proverbs 3v5-6: Trust in the lord with all thine heart; and lean not on your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy path.God is the alpha and omega, He knows the end from the beginning. He knows all you don’t know. Trust in his way to walk in his will.God bless!
Pray: Lord, show me the way.

Limitations are sometimes tools for the devil to hinder us from entering into God's fulness for our life. Especially when it comes to fulfilling God's purpose for our life, it can either be Natural Limitations, Family Limitations or Limitations from Our Past Mistakes. And as God's Minister, until you shut out, Natural circumstances, the nature of things around you, it might be impossible to fulfil purpose.
