CELEBRATION OF GOD'S AMAGZING GRACE AT THE RETIREMENT THANKSGIVING SERVICE OF MRS. JANET IYABO WUSA
The atmosphere of joy, gratitude, and celebration filled St. James Anglican Church, Oke-Odan, as family members, friends, church dignitaries, and well-wishers gathered to give thanks to God at the Retirement Thanksgiving Service of Mrs. Iyabo Janet Wusa, marking the successful completion of her thirty-five years of meritorious service in the Teaching Service Commission of Ogun State.
The thanksgiving service was graced by the presence of the Bishop of Yewa Diocese, The Rt. Revd Michael Adebayo Oluwarohunbi, Ph.D., accompanied by Mama Yewa, Mrs. Grace Olufunke Oluwarohunbi. Also in attendance were members of the clergy and clergy wives of the Diocese, traditional rulers including His Royal Majesty, Oba Rotimi Fagbenro, the Olรณkรจ of Oke-Odan, and His Royal Majesty, Oba Rtn. Ogungbohun, the Agbaigba of Ijaka-Oke, alongside members of St. John's Anglican Church, Ihunbo, St. Paul's Anglican Church, Owode Yewa, St. Paul's Anglican Church, Ayetoro, and numerous other guests and well-wishers.
Delivering the Diocesan sermon, the Bishop reflected on God's unfailing faithfulness throughout the celebrant's thirty-five years of dedicated service. Speaking on the theme, "Serving the Living God," with reference to Matthew 5:1โ3, he reminded Mrs. Wusa that retirement from active public service does not signify retirement from God's service. He therefore exhorted her to remain more diligent in her devotion to God and in the affairs of her home, encouraging her to continue serving faithfully, just as she had demonstrated commitment and excellence throughout her years in the educational sector.
The Bishop further emphasized the virtues of humility, dedication, and wholehearted service to God, praying that the Lord who had sustained the celebrant thus far would continue to strengthen and uphold her in the years ahead.
The occasion was indeed a joyful and memorable moment before God, characterized by heartfelt thanksgiving, praises, prayers, and warm fellowship among the people of God.
It was a befitting celebration of God's goodness and faithfulness upon the life of Mrs. Iyabo Janet Wusa, whose life and service continue to be a testimony to the glory of God.
To God be all the glory.
