IN YOUR COUNTRY, WHO IS REALLY ON THE THRONE???

“Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you, for HEROD IS ABOUT TO SEARCH FOR THE CHILD, TO DESTROY HIM.” (Matt 2:13)

When Herod sought to kill all those young children in Bethlehem and its environs, he had no clue about the REAL SIGNIFICANCE of what He was about to do!

In ordering the massacre of the children, Herod thought he was solving a POLITICAL PROBLEM. He thought he was eliminating a potential threat to the political dynasty that ruled the land at that time.

Herod did not know that he was being used as a mere pawn!!! Used by powers beyond the galaxies to achieve a DEEP SPIRITUAL OBJECTIVE – not the political objective that Herod thought he was pursuing.

A spiritual objective that would destroy God’s redemption plan for saving mankind from the grip of Satan. Behind the scenes, this is what was actually happening!

It is in this way that unseen, heavenly powers, at times, influence political leaders to accomplish Satan’s strategic goals in the world.

While political leaders strut around the stage, thinking they are POWERFUL men, they do not realise that, many times, they are simply MERE PAWNS in the hands of powers beyond the galaxies.

Powers that seek to RULE and DOMINATE the world according to the WILL OF SATAN.

It is for this reason that the Bible instructs believers to pray for political leaders – irrespective of the fact that we like them or not! It is ONLY our prayers that can shield them from spiritual influences from the unseen realm.

It is ONLY our prayers that can create the atmosphere that will enable us to “… lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty”. (1 Tim 2:2)

It is in this way that the Kingdom of God executes God’s agenda on earth through His people in the land.

In the real sense, politics does NOT rule the realm of men. Unseen, cosmic forces do!

HERE IS THE LESSON: In His wisdom, God knows why He commanded the followers of Jesus Christ to pray for “… kings, and for ALL that are in authority….” In ANY land that He plants us (1 Tim 2:1-2).

It is COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT if those political leaders are good or bad!!! When Paul the Apostle wrote the above passage, the leaders were majorly TYRANTS and WICKED MEN – especially to Christians! Yet, God told believers to pray for them. And that’s because this is the WAY OF THE CROSS.

It is in this WAY OF THE CROSS that the power of God is displayed on earth through His people (1 Cor 1:18). This is how His Kingdom advances on earth.

It takes UNDERSTANDING and SPIRITUAL MATURITY to know that the TRUE RULERSHIP of the nations of the world goes far beyond politics and politicians.

The angel told Daniel, “… your words have been heard, and I have come BECAUSE of your words” (Daniel 10:12). BECAUSE of Daniel’s words! BECAUSE of his prayers!

When believers understand both the NATURE and SOURCE of all political power, they’ll know where to channel their energy. They’d also realise that no nation on earth can be TRULY saved by the strength of the VOTER’S CARD.

It takes both HUMILITY and UNDERSTANDING to absorb this great truth. To realise that TRUE power does NOT flow from the ballot box!!! All over the world, God is looking for believers with this understanding today!

PRESENT YOURSELF TO GOD AS A LIVING SACRIFICE. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

In Romans chapters 1 to 11, Paul the Apostle wrote extensively on how the GRACE OF GOD saved mankind in Christ Jesus, turning sinners into beloved children of God. Hallelujah!

Immediately after this, from chapter 12 onward, Paul began to teach on HOW believers must respond to that amazing message of grace. Until a believer studies and thoroughly understands Romans 1 – 11, there’s no way he can ever TRULY practice what Paul wrote in Romans 12 onward! When was the last time you studied Romans 1 – 11?

Here’s the first line of Romans 12, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies A LIVING SACRIFICE, holy, acceptable unto God….” Paul ended the sentence by describing this as our “… REASONABLE SERVICE…” to God.

So, in essence, what does it mean to present our bodies as A LIVING SACRIFICE to God?

The answer is straight-forward. It means the life that we had, before coming to Christ, EXPIRED as we came to Him for salvation! At that point, that life became INVALID, UNTENABLE, and UNUSABLE. Instead of that previous life, we got a BRAND NEW LIFE in Christ Jesus. A NEW CREATION that did not exist previously. (2 Cor 5:17)

Thus, presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice to God entails walking DAILY in the FULL KNOWLEDGE that the old life is TRULY GONE!!! Gone forever! Gone with its desires, its passions, its ambition, its intellect, its possessions, its status, its connections, its opinion, and so on. ALL gone! Forever.

Instead, we now have a BRAND-NEW LIFE - with a new identity, new purpose, new priorities, new passion, and a new destiny. The Bible describes the out-going life and the new, in-coming life in these words: “I have been CRUCIFIED with Christ, nevertheless, I LIVE…. (Gal 2:20)

A believer that does not see this truth clearly can never, ever present his body to God as a living sacrifice. For he has nothing to present! Until we recognise and accept that our old life has expired, we cannot embrace our new life in Christ; or walk in its spiritual reality.

This is the A-B-C of following Jesus, as He Himself said in Luke 14:33, “So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.” The meaning is clear. As we seek to follow Jesus, all that WE ARE and all that WE HAVE would have to go. Without this, we have no body to present as a living sacrifice to God.

When we TRULY and FULLY embrace this truth, the stage is set for us to move forward in presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice. For, at that time, we’ll begin to co-operate with heaven in ‘ENFORCING THE MANDATE’ of our crucifixion with Christ.

Heaven enforces this mandate by DAILY using THE CROSS to weaken both the power and the influence of our expired life – so that the NEW LIFE of Christ within us may blossom and flourish (2 Cor 4:11). This process is usually painful, often attracting shame, as heaven works to deliver us from the power of the SELF life.

The believer that submits to this gruesome process, looking forward to its sanctifying work, is the believer that is TRULY presenting himself to God as a living sacrifice. That gruesome process will involve all kinds of suffering, persecution, affliction, deprivation, ostracization, and so on. That is the work of THE CROSS.

It is when we cooperate with this process that the words of this exhortation are fulfilled in our lives - “And he died for all, that those who live MIGHT NO LONGER LIVE FOR THEMSELVES but for him who for their sake died and was raised”. (2 Cor 5:15)

A believer that is still under the influence and power of the old life can never, ever TRULY live for Christ as that verse says! At best, he will live partly for Christ, and partly for SELF. This is a recipe for lukewarmness in the Spirit. A condition that will cause the Lord to vomit such a believer from his mouth.

It is for this reason that Jesus often emphasised that a believer that does not HATE/LOSE his life in this world will NOT find it in eternity (Matt 10:39, Mark 8:35, John 12:25, etc). That is, the believer that wants to present his body as a living sacrifice must thoroughly HATE his life in this world.

This is how a believer grows in the Spirit. In His mercy, God will supply the necessary grace for us to do this, but unless we engage with that grace in submission, nothing will happen! This is what Paul described as receiving the grace of God IN VAIN. (2 Cor 6:1)

Today, MOST believers are NOT engaging with this grace for this important work of the Spirit. They are receiving the grace of God IN VAIN by focussing on their old life - how to SECURE that life, how to IMPROVE that life, how to PROSPER that life.

This is why our churches are today filled with lukewarm and spiritually dead believers that do not know what it means to live for Christ. Or, what it means to SEEK and LIVE for His Kingdom on earth - Matt 6:33. (Although they can quote the Bible from cover-to-cover, and argue on doctrinal matters on social media from dawn to dusk!!!).

However, when a believer engages with the grace of God to present his body as a living sacrifice, it is easy to know. Such believers have an IDENTIFYING MARK on their lives. This mark is the SPIRIT OF GRATITUDE. Gratitude to God for ALL things that He allows to come their way – good or bad.

They are grateful in persecution, in distress, in plenty, in lack, in health, in sickness, in pain, in joy, in affliction. For they know that their lives are FIRMLY in the hands of a loving, caring Father that neither slumbers nor sleeps.

They know that, with God as a Father, ALL THINGS work together for good for them – because they love the Lord and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). It is to this faithful Father that they have presented their bodies as a living sacrifice, to be used as HE deems fit and for His glory.

Brethren, this is the calibre of believers that the Lord seeks in this end-time. Men and women that are losing their lives DAILY – because they had already lost the lives FULLY in Christ on the Cross of Calvary.

The churches of today do NOT harp on this message – because they are more focussed on membership numbers and offerings. Instead of focussing on the truth ALONE. This is why MOST believers of today are more connected to their churches/denominations than to Jesus Christ!

This is NOT a minor error. It is an error with eternal consequences. Jesus will tell lots and lots of believers, “… I NEVER KNEW YOU, depart from me….” (Matt 7:23). He NEVER knew them because they NEVER truly possessed His life. Rather, they had their own lives, and simply put His name on their lips.

Today, however, repentance is still possible. There are three things we can begin to do from today to enhance our capacity to present our bodies to God as a living sacrifice.

First, let’s go back to study Romans 1 – 11 again and again. And then, again and again, if necessary! We need to understand what Jesus has already accomplished for us at Calvary. What Jesus did for us is the ENGINE of what we are called to do in response. Without this ENGINE, we are going nowhere in the Christian faith.

Second, we must agree with God that no good thing dwells in our old life (Rom 7:18). It is ONLY Christ in us that is the hope of glory (Col 1:27). Therefore, we must be hungry to be rid of the old life – along with all its ‘glories’ and ‘achievements’. Paul considered his as DUNG – just so
that he may win Christ (Col 3:3-10).

The believers of today no longer think in this sacrificial way of THE CROSS. We need to repent. We need to go back to the words of Jesus on ‘HATING’ our lives in this world (John 12:25). We must be hungry for THE CROSS to do its work of weakening the influence of our old life on us – even rejoicing in its gruesome work, as Paul did in 2 Cor 12:10.

Third, we must take all these issues to God CONSTANTLY in the place of prayer! Only God Himself can work out these matters in our lives. No man can weaken his flesh by himself. The Bible makes it clear that it is God that works in our lives to do His good pleasure (Phil 2:13).

So, in the place of prayer, we must display our hunger for the fulness of Christ. The fulness of the Holy Spirit. The Bible tells us that it is only THE HUNGRY that shall be filled (Matt 5:6).

As we do all these in earnest, we can trust the faithfulness of God to perfect the work of salvation that He started in our lives (Phil 1:6). Moreso as the day of the Lord approaches rapidly.

To those that are willing, the grace of God is available to help. Available to transform us into zealous believers that present their bodies as A LIVING SACRIFICE to God. Holy and acceptable in His sight. Amen.

NO! NO!! NO!!! NIGERIA HAS NOT REALLY BEEN PRAYING TO GOD….

There is a widespread belief among believers in Nigeria that we have been PRAYING MASSIVELY for the nation in the last few decades. This assumption is COMPLETELY WRONG!

It is very easy to see how this assumption is false. If Nigeria has been praying to God for this long, without tangible fruits to show for the prayers, does it mean God does not answer prayers?

For till today, Nigeria remains one of the poorest, backward, and MOST CORRUPT nations on earth. This is not the worst problem. The REAL PROBLEM is that the nation shows absolutely no sign of MOVING FORWARD meaningfully. Rather, her motion is on a clear and steady DOWNWARD trajectory. Poverty, insecurity, and gnawing hopelessness roam freely around the nation’s landscape. And men live in fear.

Yet, we know that, till today, the God of heaven answers prayers. For He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Ready to save. Ready to heal. Ready to deliver.

Therefore, if the problem of our unanswered prayers is not with God, then we ought to look again at our prayers. And look again at ourselves. Could it be that we have been praying amiss? Praying according to OUR WILL, rather than according to HIS WILL? James 4:3 makes it clear that if we pray according to our will, God will NOT answer!

Please, let’s ask ourselves this important question: “What has been at THE HEART of our prayer for Nigeria all this while”? Has it not been that God should build our nation? That God should give us good governments that will make Nigeria rise to her place of pride as the Giant of Africa? Have we not been praying that God should bless our economy so that our nation can prosper? And so on.

Undoubtedly, all these are good prayer points. Good prayer points that will ‘bring glory’ to God as our nation flourishes in the world.

But, here’s the issue. Are these prayer points the PRIORITIES of God for the nation of Nigeria??? BEFORE we pray for Nigeria, do we ever take time to ASK GOD what we should pray for the nation?

After all, when Jesus taught us to pray, the primary element He first told us to pray is “… YOUR WILL be done on earth – as it is done in heaven”. HIS WILL! Do you see that? HIS will - not our will. What HE wants for Nigeria – not what WE want for Nigeria.

There’s another way that the Bible teaches this same, important truth. We see this in the highly relevant passage in 2 Chronicles 7:14. “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

In this verse, please note what comes BEFORE prayer – HUMILITY!

This is a very, very important matter. Ever before we attempt to pray, we must, first of all, WORK EXTENSIVELY on coming to the place of humility, by His grace! The humility that realises that prayer is NOT about what WE want for the nation. Prayer is ALL about what HE wants! It is about HIS will, HIS desires, HIS plans, HIS purpose, and so on. Not about ours. For He ALONE is God. We are not!

This is how the New Testament expresses this same truth. “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, he hears us. (1 John 5:14)

Until we come to this place of DEEP HUMILITY before God, our prayer will be on UNCERTAIN GROUND with God. The only reason that God answered ALL the prayers of Jesus was because of His life-long motto: “For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me”. (John 6:38) Also, please see Matthew 26:39.

Before moving on, let’s quickly look at a daily, practical application of this spiritual principle in our lives. As revealed in the Scriptures, it is the CLEAR WILL OF GOD that followers of Jesus Christ MUST pray for their enemies (and pray for those in government too). This is the will of God. It takes the spirit of humility for a man to pray for his enemies!

If you are not in the REGULAR HABIT of following this revealed will of God, please note that your prayers may struggle to go beyond your ceiling! For prayer is NOT about you – it is about God!

God further confirmed this truth in the verse we are looking at (2 Chr 7:14). “If my people … humble themselves and pray and SEEK MY FACE ….” Again, do you see that? ‘Seek my face’. Even AFTER praying, we are to SEEK HIS FACE!

For, it is in SEEKING HIS FACE that we will ‘SEE’ HIS HEART. This is when He will bring us to the same page with Himself. For prayer is COMMUNION WITH GOD – not just giving Him a list of what we want Him to do for us.

If our focus is on what we want God to do for us, then we are NOT praying! We are simply seeking to USE GOD to achieve our own objectives. God users! To a large extent, this is exactly what we have been doing in Nigeria, claiming to have been praying for the country.

Let’s continue with the 2 Chronicles 7:14 passage. When we truly seek the face of God for Nigeria, and He brings us into communion with Himself, He does something very important. He points us towards RIGHTEOUSNESS in the nation. He encourages us to TURN FROM OUR WICKED WAYS – as that verse says.

Why does God do this? Because SIN BRINGS REPROACH (Prov 14:34). Sin automatically attracts EVIL like a magnet. Sin attracts the WRATH OF GOD. And we cannot be attracting the wrath of God through our actions while praying for His blessings with our lips! This is confusion. And God will never, ever be a part of this foolish confusion.

This is why He told us this in Proverbs 14:34, “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” It is NOT prayers that exalt a nation, it is RIGHTEOUSNESS! It is not PVC that exalts a nation – it is RIGHTEOUSNESS.

This is why ‘REPENT! REPENT!! REPENT!!!’ has been the cry of the Lord to the nation of Nigeria for a long while now. A cry that is barely ever trending on social media!!!

Today, Nigeria has one of the greatest forms of HOLLOW CHRISTIANITY in the world. Christianity without Jesus Christ at the centre. Discipleship without THE CROSS at the centre. Religion without morality or righteousness. This is what Nigeria is well known for – as she reigns as one of the most corrupt nations on earth.

For this reason, God has been allowing DISASTERS to both threaten and visit the nation. Just to draw our attention. Just to cause us to pause and consider our ways before God. Just to lead us in the path of repentance – individually as believers, collectively as the church of God, and corporately as His ambassadors in Nigeria.

But, instead of being sensitive and heeding these warning signs, we are focussing on the FRUITS OF THE PROBLEM. Instead of looking at the ROOT OF THE PROBLEM.

On top of that, we are claiming that our prayers for Nigeria are NOT working – just so that our EVIL HEARTS can produce its CARNAL SOLUTIONS that will never, ever TRULY solve the problem. Get more PVCs. Break up Nigeria. Hate the Fulanis more intensely. Get weapons to protect ourselves and our families. And so on.

Are the Fulanis the MAIN problem of this country? Did God not make this solemn promise: “When a man's ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him” (Prov 16:7). Are the Fulanis above the constraining influence and power of God?

On the political scene, has the sovereign power of God diminished such that He cannot constrain ANY leader – young or old; Christian or Muslim, or even Pagan! – to do His will in the nation? Has the sovereign power of God in Nigeria become DEPENDENT on the outcome of the ballot box? The same God of heaven and earth that we serve?

In the dire predicament that Nigeria faces today, instead of looking INWARD in humility, we are looking OUTWARD in carnality. We are pointing at everybody else – apart from ourselves! Pointing at the political process. Pointing at other tribes. Pointing at other religions. Which of these is beyond the POWER and CONTROL of our God?

Even in this CONVULSIVE, DECAYING state of this potentially great nation, God is still stretching out His hand of mercy to His people in the land. With just one message – “REPENT! And turn to me with all your spirit, soul, and body. My hand is not too short to deliver my people – even at the brink of what looks like imminent disaster! JUST REPENT in all sincerity…..”

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

We have NOT been praying for Nigeria – in the way that God really wants us to pray! But, we need to start NOW. And the first step is to HUMBLE OURSELVES THOROUGHLY before God!

Dear believers in Nigeria, before pointing at anybody/anything, please let’s look at ourselves in the mirror. In this PLACE OF HUMILITY, God will start His great work of healing our land.

AS YOU SERVE GOD, HE DOES NOT WANT THESE SEVEN THINGS FROM YOU….

Every believer is SAVED TO SERVE God in one capacity or the other. However, in this end-time, there will be a SIGNIFICANT SHIFT in the way that God wants us to serve Him. And we must pay attention to this shift.

God will take us right back to the TRUE biblical basis for serving Him. A basis that had become neglected as the church went into lukewarmness in the last few centuries.

In that lukewarmness, believers sought to work for God through a GOD-MAN partnership. That is, God gives an assignment. And then, working with God, the believer deploys his personal resources to carry out the assignment.

Such resources include man’s intellect, his initiatives, his strategies, his perspectives, his opinions, his strength, his wisdom, and so on.

All these elements are invested in the work of God until it is accomplished. Some believers will even leave the pursuit of a secular career to focus on the work of God full-time! That is an indication of how dedicated they are to the work of God.

(Here’s something that many believers may not know. When we bring our personal resources to work for God, it is inevitable that we’ll share in His glory!)

However, the days of using our personal resources to serve God, and sharing His glory are over. In this end-time, God is returning His TRUE church back to the biblical model of serving Him.

In this model, it is ONLY God that does ALL the work Himself. All as in ALL! Man becomes only A VESSEL through which God Himself does ALL HIS WORK.

But, before God will work with a believer on this basis, He would have to, FIRST OF ALL, break that believer down and strip him of the POWER OF SELF. It is only when this POWER OF SELF has been dealt a CRUSHING, divine blow that the believer can become a carrier/container of the POWER OF THE SPIRIT that will do the work of God.

In the life of a believer, this CRUSHING, DIVINE BLOW is not a one-time event. It is a blow that will keep falling day after day – until the believer dies. And this is so that the POWER OF SELF will no longer return to gain ascendancy in that life.

The crushing, divine blow will come in various forms of trials, tribulations, and suffering that God will allow the believer to pass through. It is for this reason that the pain, suffering, and shame that genuine believers will experience in these days will be COMPLETELY UNPRECEDENTED in the modern history of the Church of God.

This will be God’s way of preparing His TRUE church to serve Him in the WORK OF PREPARATION that will precede the return of Jesus. For this reason, God will work in our lives, again and again, and with greater intensity, to break the POWER OF SELF in our lives.

For it is from this POWER OF SELF that man derives his strength, wisdom, intellect, initiative, opinion, methodology, and power.

Friends, these are the SEVEN ELEMENTS that God does NOT want in His glorious work in this end-time!!! And that is because the delicate WORK OF PREPARATION must never, ever be contaminated by the energy of SELF. For SELF cannot prepare the way for THE SPIRIT. Let’s repeat this line - SELF cannot prepare the way for THE SPIRIT!

Therefore, in these days, all that God wants are EMPTY VESSELS into which He will pour Himself. Pour Himself to do His own work, by Himself ALONE.

When God works by Himself in this way, His work becomes ENDURING. A perfect example of this is God’s work of salvation through Jesus Christ. In this respect, here are the words of Jesus: “… the Father who dwells in me DOES HIS WORKS” (John 14:10). Please, think about this.

Jesus emptied Himself to become THE VESSEL into which the Father could pour Himself to do His work. “I can of mine own self do nothing….”, He repeated again and again (John 5:19, 30; 8:28, etc). It is on this basis that Jesus served God to bring salvation to mankind.

When that message of salvation would come to us - the Gentiles - God chose a man, called Saul at that time. He struck him down on his way to Damascus (Acts 9:3-4), sent him to the deserts of Arabia (Gal 1:15-18), and sustained the crushing blows on him all the days of his life (2 Cor 11:24-27, etc). This is why the ministry of Apostle Paul bore so much power and effectiveness for God.

Power and effectiveness. Just like the ministries of the other Apostles of Christ, who lived under the CRUSHING BLOW of suffering all their lives. Forsaking THEIR ALL when they met Christ (Luke 18:28), and living as strangers and pilgrims all their days on earth (1 Pet 2:11).

Just so that they could be EMPTIED of the POWER OF SELF. Just so that they could become MERE VESSELS in which God could pour Himself to do His own work – by Himself ALONE.

All these happened at the beginning of the Church Age. In these closing days of the Church Age, God is reverting to this tested and trusted pattern of serving Him. This is why He is casting aside the OLD ORDER, raising NEW VESSELS to serve Him in this end-time. EMPTY vessels that He’ll use – so that the excellency of the power may belong to Him ALONE (2 Cor 4:7).

Brethren, this is the way that God has chosen to prepare His church for the imminent return of His Son to rule the world in glory.

Do YOU want to be a part of this glorious company of EMPTY VESSELS? Then, get ready!

Get ready to be ‘CRUSHED’ by God – as He takes away all your power and confidence in your SELF. Get ready for the painful and shameful work of THE CROSS, as God uses this ‘crude tool’ to crucify you to the world and crucify the world to you (Gal 6:14). Get ready to FORSAKE EVERYTHING that you possess (Luke 14:33), and to HATE your life in this world (John 12:25) – so that you can gain it in eternity.

But, please note that all these will NOT happen unless you, by God’s grace, PRESENT YOURSELF to Him as a living sacrifice (Rom 12:1). God will NOT force this end-time agenda on any believer. He will work in, and work with, ONLY those that hear His knock on the door of their hearts and open the door to Him in intimacy (Rev 3:20).

That is, believers that are ready to be PATIENT in tribulation (Rom 12:12), ready to REJOICE in persecution (Matt 5:11-12), ready to give thanks to God in ALL things, both good and bad (1 Thess 5:18). Men and women of faith whose entire lives revolve around God ALONE.

Let’s be candid. Jesus made it clear that He’ll barely find such faith on earth when He returns (Luke 18:8). For, abounding iniquities in this end-time will cause the love of many for Him to wax cold (Matt 24:12). With many believers turning their back on God’s sound doctrines, preferring to listen to fables (2 Tim 4:3-4).

That will be the state of Christianity when Jesus returns – according to Bible prophecies. May He not find YOU among the lukewarm group that would be cast away in that day!

Rather, may He find you ready with extra oil, watching and waiting, so that you can open to Him IMMEDIATELY when He arrives (Luke 12:35-36).

If this is your heartfelt desire, please turn to God in earnest prayer and TOTAL surrender now. His grace is waiting to help the willing soul. Souls that are ready to be ‘CRUSHED’ and rendered COMPLETELY EMPTY for God to fill for His work in this end-time.

“… for IT IS GOD who works in you, both TO WILL and TO WORK for his good pleasure.” (Phil 2:13)

THIS IS WHY A BELIEVER’S LIFE IS CONSTANTLY HARD!!!

It is because we are constantly living TWO LIVES on earth!

On one hand, we live in this physical world. Living in the world without being a part of THE WORLD.

At the same time, we also live in the Kingdom of God. We live in this INVISIBLE, YET REAL realm of existence. The realm that (is supposed) to shape EVERYTHING that we think, say, or do, in this world.

Living these TWO LIVES is what makes the life of a TRUE believer very hard in this world. This is why we walk A VERY NARROW, DIFFICULT WAY in this world! (Matt 7:14)

Living here in the world and NOT really living here. Living there with God in His Kingdom, and somehow, NOT fully living there in our physical bodies.

This is why a believer’s life can NEVER, EVER be lived in the energy of the flesh. Nor in its wisdom! (1 Cor 3:19)

And this is why a believer’s life can NEVER, EVER be truly lived apart from the LIFE OF CHRIST. Only the life of Christ can survive in the glorious realm of the Kingdom of God – where we truly belong.

So, we desperately NEED this LIFE OF CHRIST!!! Every. Single. Moment.

But, if we cling to ANY aspect of this world (or its thinking and ways), we can NEVER, EVER survive in the Kingdom of God – to which we truly belong!

To survive in these days, this is why it is extremely important to start UPROOTING and BURNING all the stakes we have in this crooked world!!! This is what Jesus was talking about when He said this:

“So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.” (Luke 14:33)

He added this in Luke 9:24: “For whoever would save his life (in this world) will lose it, but whoever loses his life (in this world) for my sake will save it.” (Emphasis added)

Do you believe this? Are you TRULY ready to LOSE YOUR LIFE in this world? That is, with ALL the attendant suffering? The shame? The pain? The deprivation? And so on?

Without settling these difficult issues in your mind – and embracing them – it will be TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE to follow Jesus! Totally impossible to live in the Kingdom of God, either NOW or in ETERNITY. Just impossible!

Therefore, we need to SIT DOWN and confront those difficult questions above. Because those questions will CERTAINLY confront us on a DAILY basis! This is the point Jesus was making in this verse:

“For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not FIRST SIT DOWN and COUNT THE COST, whether he has enough to complete it?” (Luke 14:28)

In this respect, here are the words of the Apostles of Christ:

“… Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must THROUGH MUCH TRIBULATION enter into the kingdom of God.”

This is worth really thinking about….
