MY APPOINTMENT AS THE CHAIRMAN, BOARD OF TRUSTEES
EKEMINI OTUNG FOUNDATION: MY ERNEST ACCEPTANCE.

Distinguished members of the Board, esteemed EXCO members, dedicated volunteers and partners, ladies and gentlemen,
It is my pleasure and a deep sense of responsibility as I humbly accept the position of Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Ekemini Otung Foundation (EKOF). I sincerely thank you for the confidence you have reposed in me.

This honour is not merely a title, but a call to serve, to lead with integrity, and to advance the noble vision upon which this Foundation was built.
EKOF has, to my personal note, distinguished itself as a beacon of hope, compassion, and service to humanity. The mission to uplift lives, support the vulnerable, and promote sustainable development is one that resonates deeply with me.

Today, I reaffirm my unwavering commitment to these ideals.
As we look ahead, it is important that we move from intention to impactful action. In the near future, the Board under my leadership will prioritize key humanitarian projects that will directly touch lives and create measurable change.

First, we shall embark on a “Community Care Initiative”, which will focus on providing basic healthcare outreach services to underserved communities. This will include free medical check-ups, health education, and distribution of essential medications, materials, especially targeting rural and hard-to-reach areas.

Secondly, we will launch a “Back-to-School Support Program”, aimed at equipping underprivileged children with school materials, uniforms, and scholarships where possible; because education remains one of the most powerful tools for breaking the cycle of poverty, and we are committed to investing in the future of our upcoming generation.

Thirdly, EKOF will introduce a “Youth Empowerment and Skills Acquisition Scheme”, designed to train young people in practical, income-generating digital skills. By doing so, we are not just giving aid, we are building capacity, restoring dignity, and fostering self-reliance.

In addition, we will strengthen partnerships with institutions, organizations, and well-meaning individuals to expand our reach and amplify our impact. Collaboration will be key to achieving sustainable results.

As Chairman, I pledge to uphold transparency, accountability, and excellence in all our operations. Together with executives and supporters of this great team, we will ensure that every resource entrusted to us translates into meaningful impact for those who need it most.

Let me also use this opportunity to call on all members, partners, and stakeholders to remain committed and actively involved. The task ahead is great, but with unity, dedication, and a shared vision, we will succeed.

As an indefatigable Rotarian, I accept this role with humility, determination, and faith in what we can achieve together. Let us rise to the challenge and continue to be a source of hope to humanity.

Thank you, and God bless all.

Ekemini Otung Foundation has been intentionally silent for barely a year now to separate the wheat 🌾 from the chaff.

Trust me, we’ve built so much capacity in silence and we’ll be kicking off soon.

To you that has been patient till date, you’ll be remembered for good. You’ve proven to be reliable and I’m super proud of you all.

Good bye to those that left. At least our elimination strategy worked wonders.

May our best times begin.
