MONTHLY THEME: THE END TIME
SUNDAY MESSAGE: DESTROYING THE SIGNS OF THE END TIME IN OUR LIVES
WITH REV. RUTH OKORO
GALATIANS 5:19-21, II TIMOTHY 3: 1-7
For all who have accepted The LORD JESUS CHRIST, this world is not the final destination. Every Soul is immortal, and will certainly give account of Himself /Herself before GOD. Man’s Spirit (the conscience) tends to GOD, but the Soul is subject to influence, whether good or bad. The Soul is in contention, with our flesh and Spirit fighting to claim or win the Soul. If your Spirit succeeds in this task, you go to heaven, but if the flesh dominates the Soul, it will push the soul into hell.
GALATIANS 519-21
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Apart from the general signs which will herald the end of the world, there are other, more personal indications which we must be warned about.
Everyone plans to go to heaven, but the things enumerated above can stop us getting there. Many will say they do not partake in Idolatry, but if you raise anything above GOD, work or business, family, possessions, etc, then you do have an idol in your life.
The Trumpet has not sounded, so there is still opportunity for us to examine ourselves critically, in the light of GOD’s Word and the help of HOLY SPIRIT. A Holier-than-thou attitude is very dangerous. No one is without a tiny flaw in his spiritual make up.
II TIMOTHY 3: 1-7
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Selfishness leads to self centeredness, Pride will turn GOD against you, self importance is pride. In everyway you consider yourself more than the next man. Educationally, physically, in terms of money, etc, in that way you are proud. And the dangerous thing about pride is that the one with it doesn’t know he / she has it. When there is no difference between you and the world, you are unholy. When you speak, dress, eat, and live like those you know have not the HOLY SPIRIT, you are unholy.
We must love because GOD is Love. Many, if great care is not taken, will fail at the point of unforgiveness. Lying and stealing have become quite popular with sub-divisions of both. So one may tell a “white lie”, or “swap” something but not steal. We must be careful when we allow ourselves to be deceived like this. Satan is subtle and determined not to go to hell alone.
However, today we can repent, and ask for GOD’s mercy. We can be born again, or if we are already in CHRIST but have compromised along the way, we can ask GOD to revive us again. I hope that on that day, we shall all celebrate together in heaven. GOD bless us all.
