Understanding God, Science, and the Purpose of Human Life (An Islamic Perspective)

Good day everyone,

Today, we will reflect deeply on three important questions:

1. Does God exist?

2. What is the relationship between Islam and science?

3. What is the purpose of human life?

Let us begin step by step in a simple and clear way.

1. Does God Exist? (Understanding the Creator)

Among human beings, there are different beliefs:

Some people do not believe in God.

Some strongly believe God exists.

Others accept there must be a Creator but are unsure about Him as explained in Islam.

Let us think about something simple:

Every product has a maker

Every building has a builder

Every design has a designer

Now look at the universe:

The sun rises and sets in order

The moon follows a precise pattern

Plants, animals, and humans exist in balance

The world operates through organized systems

Can all of this happen by chance?
Or does it point to a Creator, a Designer, Allah?

Some people say:
“If God exists, show Him physically.”

But let us reflect:

You cannot see air, yet you breathe it

You cannot see gravity, yet it holds everything in place

Not everything that exists must be seen.

Islam teaches that Allah exists, and His signs are everywhere in creation.
He gave us intellect (Aql) to observe, think, and understand.

2. What is Science and What is Islam?

To understand better, let us define two key concepts:

Science

Science is the study of the natural world through:

Observation

Experiment

Reasoning

It helps us understand how things work.

Islam

Islam is the complete religion revealed by Allah.
It teaches:

Belief in one God (Allah)

Seeking knowledge

Reflection and reasoning

Living a disciplined and purposeful life

Here is a very important truth:
Islam and science cannot be separated.

Why?

Because Islam encourages:

Thinking deeply

Observing the universe

Seeking knowledge

These are the same foundations of science.

3. Islam Encourages Knowledge and Reflection

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him):

Encouraged people to seek knowledge

Promoted literacy and education

Taught people to think before acting

Example: Some prisoners were freed if they taught others how to read and write.

This shows clearly that Islam values education and knowledge.

The Qur’an repeatedly calls humans to:

Observe the heavens and the earth

Reflect on creation

Use their reasoning ability

4. Islam and Science in Practice

Historically, Muslims applied these teachings.
During the Golden Age of Islam, they excelled in:

Medicine

Mathematics

Astronomy

Education

This was possible because they followed Islamic teachings:
Observe, think, learn, and apply knowledge.

5. What is the Purpose of Human Life?

This is the most important part of our discussion.

Islam teaches that humans are created for a purpose.

That purpose is to:

Worship Allah

Recognize Him through His signs

Live a life of knowledge, discipline, and good character

Serve as Khalifah (vicegerents) on Earth

This means:

You are responsible

You must act with wisdom

You must benefit others

6. How Should We Live With This Knowledge?

To fulfill our purpose, we must:

1. Observe

Study the world and reflect on it

2. Think before acting

Always consider consequences

3. Seek knowledge continuously

Learning never ends

4. Balance faith and reason

Islam and science go together

Final Reflection

When you look at the world around you, ask yourself:

Can all of this happen by chance?
Or does it point to a Creator?
What is my purpose in this life?

Remember:
Belief in Allah is not blind—it is built on thinking, observing, and understanding.

O Allah, open our hearts to recognize You, grant us knowledge to understand Your creation, and guide us to fulfill our purpose in a way that pleases You.
Make us people of wisdom, reflection, and beneficial action.
Ameen.

Hmmm! May Allah forgive his shortcomings

Daily Sallah is more than ritual—it is the soul’s alignment with Allah’s command.
Each bow and prostration reminds us that our lives are not ours but His to guide.
Delaying or neglecting Sallah weakens our connection, like a lamp losing its oil.
Total submission in prayer purifies intentions and shapes character towards righteousness.
Through consistent devotion, we learn patience, humility, and mindfulness in all acts.
Sallah is a daily testament that we live not for fleeting desires but for divine purpose.
Observe it faithfully, for in it lies the strength, peace, and guidance that none other can grant.

Delaying your daily Salah is like delaying a message from your father. Just as you would feel urgency and responsibility to deliver his words promptly, so too should you prioritize your prayers without procrastination. Every Salah carries a direct message of obedience and connection to Allah; delaying it is like postponing a vital communication from the most important person in your life.

*Challenging the Integrity of the Companions is Challenging the Integrity of Islam*

Challenging the integrity of Abū Bakr, Umar, Uthmān, Alī, Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with them all), and other esteemed companions of the Prophet (s.a.w) is a serious matter. In fact, it indirectly questions the credibility of Islam itself. Here’s why:

1. They were direct students of the Prophet (s.a.w).

The Sahābah (companions) learned about Islam directly from the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w), both through his words and actions.

To doubt their honesty and piety implies that the Prophet (s.a.w) failed in selecting and nurturing his closest followers, which contradicts Allah’s own testimony about them in the Qur’an (9:100).

2. They preserved the Qur’an and Sunnah.

The Qur’an was transmitted through these companions.

The Sunnah (the sayings and actions of the Prophet (s.a.w)) was primarily narrated by them, including Abū Hurayrah, who devoted his life to preserving Hadith.

If one questions their integrity, then it puts into doubt the very foundations of the Qur’an and Sunnah — essentially challenging Islam itself.

3. Allah praised them in the Qur’an.

Allah states:
“The first and foremost [to embrace Islam] of the Muhājirūn and the Anṣār, and those who follow them with righteousness – Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him.” (Qur’an 9:100)

This verse serves as a divine affirmation of their integrity.

4. Their role in spreading Islam.

Abū Bakr, Umar, Uthmān, and Alī were not just companions; they were rightly guided caliphs who expanded and safeguarded the religion.

To tarnish their names is to undermine the very foundation upon which Islamic civilization was built.

5. Challenging their integrity undermines Islamic unity.

If the credibility of these companions is called into question, Muslims lose a common ground based on authentic knowledge and unity.

This is why sects that attack the Sahābah often end up with distorted interpretations of Islam.

In conclusion, questioning the integrity of Abū Bakr, Umar, Uthmān, Alī, Abū Hurayrah, and other Sahābah is essentially questioning Islam itself. They are the bearers of the Qur’an and Sunnah. Allah praised them, the Prophet (s.a.w) trusted them, and all Muslims inherited their faith through them.

The most uninformed individual who praises Sahaba is unequivocally superior to the erudite scholar who exhibits disrespect towards Sahaba.
