Mentorship is everything

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐏𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏 (𝐃𝐈𝐆𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝐓𝐖𝐎)

𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝

Mentoring is a process whereby an individual regarded as the Mentor helps, guides and supports the Mentee otherwise called protégé to reach the place of destiny.

The process of mentorship demands a sacrificial submission to our mentors. Pity however, that, many do not want to succumb to appropriate corrections (Ex. 18:1-24).

According to what ensued between Jethro and Moses as regards the leadership in Israel, we can now understand that God would not directly teach us some things; He would rather expect that you learn some key things from the mentor He has orchestrated over you. Moreover, you will be able to properly mentor only if you have followed well or have been mentored well. The reason is simple – you cannot give what you don’t have.

Jethro had what it takes to mentor Moses. Moses therefore possessed what it takes to mentor Joshua. Respectively, they transferred stern, godly counsels. Are we not in a generation that turns deaf ears to godly counsel – a generation of ‘rising stars’ who are not ready to listen?

Fine, you might have a great anointing and wrought great miracles. But all that, without good mentorship, can fade away real quick (Exodus 18:23).

Meanwhile, Mentorship can either be helpful or destructive.
May you not have tormentors as mentors. That prayerful declaration is heavily important because some mentors will actually be the reason some youngsters will not fulfill destiny and purpose. Simply put, not everybody can be your mentor.
Again, don’t speedily assume that you are a mentor to every Tom and Jerry. Not everybody that crosses your path is your follower. Some are just baits and traps – set ups for monitoring and orchestrating your downfall.
