“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Romans 12:1-2 NKJV
In life, there are instructions, there are advices and there are admonitions. In the scripture for today, Apostle Paul was earnestly admonishing the Christian community to fervently be chastised, copious and outrightly holy towards God. The word beseech is defined as an urgent call to ask someone to do something and that is the actual tone of the message from Apostle Paul. As I'd paraphrase, the scripture for today implores us to present our bodies a living sacrifice that must be holy and acceptable to Yahweh. Thereby ensuring we do not conform to the world but be transformed by the renewing of our minds and this will therein make us stay in the perfect will of God.
You will gain a deep understanding of the Scripture for today, Romans 12:1-2 by focusing on its significance within the broader context and full explanation of Paul's letter to the Romans (as seen in many other instances). But this passage urges believers to offer themselves as living sacrifices, emphasizing that true worship extends beyond rituals and religious regimented activities but doing the act of worship to encompass everyday life, as often as possible.
Today is the first Monday in the Month of October and it's another time to start off the week with confidence and full energy. I know many people are always thankful to God for His grace but we all, I mean everyone that can see this must ensure we are grateful to God and master the act of worship as a lifestyle. I pray for the continuation of God's mercy, grace and love. I wish you a splendid week and a prosperous rest of the year. Remain ever blessed, AMEN!
