SUBTHEME: He will arise and scatter His enemies
TEXT: Psalm 68:1
INTRODUCTION:
The theme of this convention is so significant. I want to inform you that it was Moses the Prophet of God that first prayed to God to arise and scatter the enemies of the Israelites according to Numbers 10:33-35. It was this prayer that the Israelites used during their journey in the wilderness for 40 years and this made some of them enter into the promised land.
This prayer is the prayer of any Christian who is a pilgrim going from this world to the heavenly world.
The theme of this convention is a spiritual theme.
According to the book of Numbers the Ark of Covenant was with the Israelites before they were able to shout the prayer. This implies that that if God is not with you no matter how you shout this prayer, you will not receive answers. But if you have God with you, you will shout this prayer and the Lord will arise and scatter your enemies.The Lord in this theme is giving you a new power and a new direction as a Christian.
Who is the God that should arise?
He is a great God. He is the omnipotent and omnipresent and omniscience God. He is the one that knows you. He is a merciful God who is ever ready to save His children. Don't forget He is a consuming fire. He will not spare any sinners nor condone sin.
Since He is not a respecter of persons, He told the children of Israel that He was with them when they were in bo***ge. He delivered them and they turned against Him and rebelled against Him. Hence, He arose and scatter them in the wilderness.
That was the reason so many of them died in the wilderness.This is not about your titles or position, It is about examining yourself now. Where will you end your journey is the question this theme is asking you, is God still with you?
If you say let God arise and His enemies be scattered, are you not an enemy to God.
Irrespective of who you are in the church, whether Apostle, Pastor, Elder, Deaconess and the likes, if you are an enemy of God as you are shouting let God arise, don't forget He will arise and scatter you.
Our common enemy is Satan but the tools Satan uses is sin this include sin of rebellion, idolatry, fornication, fighting and the rest,are this things not among us.
The enemies God will scatter are not witches and wizards, herbalists, the enemies He's talking about are the enemies within. Those that are in the church fighting against the perfect will and ordinances of God.
In our midst we keep malice, we fight one another, we hate one another, we have factions in the church, we have our wives and also have concubines outside, we are an enemy of God,and if the Lord arises He will scatter you too.God has not come to judge you, He is here with mercy, repent and move from the place of enemy of God to being friends with Him.
If you want this message to work for you, make the presence of God come into your life.
In the Apostolic church today, we have derailed. This is not the church of fathers left for us. We must go back to the old Apostolic where signs and wonders abound.
TOOLS YOU MUST USE TO MAKE GOD ARISE AND SCATTER YOUR ENEMIES
* You must be sure of your salvation: the soul that is not saved is an enemy of God. When you are genuinely saved, the enemies can't stand(Acts 2:28)
* You must be holy: Holiness means sinlessness.(Daniel 6)
* You must let the word of God dwell in you richly. Jesus defeated the devil with "IT WAS WRITTEN".(Matt.4)
* Fellowship of the saints: most of us we are Sunday Sunday worshippers not minding other activities of the church which are fellowship in the morning and evening meetings. By doing so the enemies will be scattered.(Heb.10:25)
* The power of unity: there is an adesh that says united we stand divided we fall. If the church is united as of old. The Lord will arise and scatter our enemies.(Acts 2)
* Powerful of obedience: this is an unfailing tool to scatter the enemies. According to Deut. 32, the Lord said "I'll be an enemy to your enemy". If we obey the precepts and ordinances of God not being recalcitrant to the authority of the church, the Lord will arise and scatter your enemies. Your enemies can't be scattered if you're a disobedience person.Remember that our oath is "Whatever He tells you, do just that".
* Forgiveness
* Power of prayer: our prayer today is a sentimental prayer.
* Rendering services to God
* Power of praises: this is applicable to what happened to Paul and Silas in the prison. They pray and praise God, and the prison gate was open and they were saved.
Conclusion: The name and blood of Jesus will fight for anyone who has these characteristics.
Repent and see the Power in the name of the Lord so that when you call Him or even when you don't, He sees your heart. If I be a Man of God, go home from this convention and receive your testimony.
