THE JUDGEMENT OF GOD!
The judgment of God starting from the house of God is a biblical concept mentioned in 1 Peter 4:17, which says, "For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God." This phrase refers to God's evaluation and correction of His people, the church, before judging the world.
*Why Judgment Starts with the Church:*
- *God's Standard of Holiness*: As believers, we're called to live holy lives, and God holds us to a higher standard.
- *Purification and Refining*: Judgment is meant to purify and refine the church, removing impurities and making us more like Christ.
- *Accountability*: As God's children, we're accountable for our actions, and He disciplines us to bring us closer to Him.
- *Example to the World*: The church's integrity and holiness are essential for its witness to the world ¹ ² ³.
*What Does This Judgment Look Like?*
- *Persecution and Suffering*: The church may face persecution and suffering for Christ's sake.
- *Chastening and Discipline*: God disciplines His people to train them in righteousness.
- *Self-Examination*: Believers are urged to examine themselves, confessing sins and seeking forgiveness ⁴ ² ³.
Remember, God's judgment is not about condemnation but about purification and restoration. As believers, we're called to live holy lives, and this judgment is an opportunity for us to grow closer to Him ¹.
