Did you know the book of Leviticus was actually foreshadowing what Christ did for us on the cross of Calvary?

Back then, it took lambs, bulls, and constant sacrifices just to draw near to a holy God offering after offering, because sin needed covering again and again. But when Jesus died for us, He became that living sacrifice once and for all. He gave Himself up so we would never need to bring another lamb, another bull, or ask a priest to stand in the gap for us.

He didn’t just cover our sin like the blood of bulls and goats He took it away, once for all (Hebrews 9:26). He is our great High Priest, our Lamb, our Mercy Seat. What Leviticus pictured, Christ accomplished.

And when He died, the veil was torn. That means we no longer need someone else to go before God on our behalf we can come to Him ourselves, boldly, and ask for forgiveness, because Christ has given us direct access to the Father!

That’s why Leviticus is such a beautiful foreshadowing every altar, every offering, every sacrifice was pointing to what Jesus would finish on the cross. What they had to keep doing, He did once… for all of us.

So today, be encouraged you’re not distant from God. Through Christ, the veil is torn, and you have full access to the Father.

Not in fear, but in love.

Let’s be honest Leviticus is often the book believers skim past. All those instructions, all that “do this, don’t do that” can feel repetitive and hard to connect with.

But led by the Holy Spirit, we dug into a good chunk of this book, and what we found was nothing short of mind-blowing!

Here’s a recap of what we uncovered:

We studied the five major offerings Burnt, Grain, Peace, Sin, and Guilt understanding what each one meant, what was required, and what wasn’t.

We looked at dietary instructions what could be eaten and what couldn’t.

We saw the specific instructions given to priests concerning offerings and the maintenance of the altar.

Beyond the details, three truths stood out to us:

1- Approaching a holy God requires sacrifice, atonement, obedience, and reverence.
2- Those who serve Him must treat His holiness and His instructions seriously.
3- God was teaching Israel to distinguish between what is holy and common, clean and unclean.

Leviticus isn’t just a list of rules it’s a picture of a God who takes holiness seriously, and who was preparing His people to walk closely with Him.

Question for you, our reader: As a believer in Christ, do you think justification comes before sanctification, or sanctification before justification?

Drop your thoughts in the comments let’s reason together!

From slavery to sonship

It started with 70 souls in Egypt and grew into a multitude so vast, Pharaoh trembled and turned to terror, decreeing death on every Israelite baby boy.

But even in the shadow of that decree, God was already at work, keeping a promise He made to Abraham centuries earlier in Genesis 15. His timing may tarry, but His word never fails.

Exodus isn’t just a story of escape it’s the story of a relationship being born. God didn’t just deliver Israel from bo***ge; He redeemed them for Himself, to shape them into a nation that would look to Him for everything. We walked through the plagues that dismantled Egypt’s gods, economy, and pride, the Passover that whispered forward to Calvary, and the wilderness season where grumbling met grace and grace kept showing up anyway.

By the time we got to Sinai the Commandments, Jethro’s wise counsel, God’s daily provision in the desert one truth stood out above the rest: there’s nothing wrong with having a master; having the right Master is everything.

Who was that master? GOD!

That’s not just their story. That’s an invitation for ours too.
