The Youth wing of Prison fellowship Nigeria is conceived as a platform for collaboration and synergy among youths and, a Vanguard for renaissance of virtuous and altruistic values, particularly among youths and young persons and the society in general. The Goal is to discourage youths from crime and criminality and point them rather to pro-social, constructive, productive and responsible lifestyle
s, through active involvement in Prison Fellowship Pre and post custodial and non-custodial remedial programmes: Spiritual formation, entrepreneurial and vocational empowerment, legal aid, criminal adjudication and corrections reform initiatives and interventions, in furtherance of Prison Fellowship Vision and Mission. The Objectives are to: design and implement Youth Centric activities and programmes that promote positive life styles, highlight harmful effects and consequences of anti-social behaviour and law-breaking actions and activities. Mount targeted and general social reorientation and advocacy campaigns in tertiary institutions, communities and mass/social media – electronic and print. Statistics show that youths constitute about 44-46% of total inmate population across the country, necessitating a strong involvement of the youth in addressing the issues of crime and criminality in a way that directly appeals and resonates with young, energetic and easily excitable young men and women. Advocacy activities will include debates, quiz competition, games, drama skits include skits and troupe performance that promote hard work, altruism, honesty, integrity advocacy and sensitization in schools, colleges, talk shows which will be structured along state chapter levels with national coordination. Offices will be limited to National Youth Leader, State Youth Leader, Programmes Director, General Secretary, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, PRO and Provost.
