Good morning/afternoon/evening, my sisters, brothers, friends, and families. Join me as we delve into this crucial topic:
CALL OUT OF DARKNESS INTO THE LIGHT OF GOD.
Scripture reveals in John 8:12 that Jesus declared, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life." This profound statement emphasizes that when we step out of darkness and into Jesus' light, we are filled with life and hope.
Many of us may feel ensnared in darkness due to sin, shame, guilt, or fear. Yet, Jesus extends an invitation for us to emerge from that darkness and into His glorious light. 1 Peter 2:9 reminds us that we are chosen, royal, and holy, called to declare the praises of Him who has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light.
Emerging from darkness to Jesus necessitates a deliberate choice to turn away from sin and turn to Him. It involves surrendering our burdens, shame, and fears to Him, allowing His light and love to illuminate our lives. Though it may be challenging, it is undoubtedly worthwhile. Jesus assures us in Matthew 11:28-30, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
As we step out of darkness into Jesus' light, let us pray for the courage to leave behind the weights that burden us. Let us pray for the strength to resist the allure of our former ways. Let us pray for the faith to trust in God's promises and walk in His light. And let us pray for the grace to forgive ourselves and others, knowing that in Christ, we are made new.
Heavenly Father, we humbly come to you, acknowledging our need for your light and love. We confess our sins, shame, and fears, seeking your forgiveness and healing. Guide us as we turn away from darkness and into your marvelous light. Fill us with your peace, joy, and hope as we walk in your ways. Thank you for calling us out of darkness and into your light. In Jesus' name, Amen.

2. I declare that I will not perish in darkness, in the name of Jesus.
3. I rebuke the spirit of sin and death, in Jesus' name.
4. Father God, empower me to overcome my fleshly desires, in Jesus' name.
5. (Confess this) I am illuminated by the light of God; Jesus is my light, and darkness has no authority over me, in Jesus' name.
