🕋👳🏽‍♂️🧕🏾 The Light of the Companions 🕌🤍
A Weekly Series on the Significance of the Ṣaḥābah (RA)

**Series 5: Their Love for the Prophet ﷺ**
**Date:** Friday, 10 Rabiʿ al-Thānī 1447 AH / 3 October 2025 CE

One of the most notable qualities of the Companions was their profound and selfless love for the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ. This love was demonstrated through both words and actions—loyalty and sacrifice. They protected him with their bodies on the battlefield, shed tears during his guidance in prayer, and were quick to obey even his smallest instructions. When he spoke, their hearts softened, and their lives transformed. Their love for the Prophet ﷺ shaped their character and fortified their faith, making them the finest generation of believers.

Allāh commands the believers:

"Say, if you truly love Allāh, then follow me, and Allāh will love you and forgive your sins.” (Qur’an 3:31)

Anas ibn Mālik (RA) reported:

"The Prophet ﷺ said: None of you will truly believe until I am more beloved to him than his father, his child, and all of mankind.” (al-Bukhārī, Muslim)

This affection was not mere blind devotion but an acknowledgment of his role as the chosen Messenger of Allāh. Their lives are a testament that love for the Prophet ﷺ is manifested in obedience to his Sunnah, in safeguarding his message, and in serving the people he cared for. Today, when we study their lives, we see how true love for the Prophet ﷺ can transform hearts, soften behaviors, and make obedience a natural response rather than a burden.

1. Reflect on Qur’an 3:31 and the Hadith mentioned above about loving the Prophet ﷺ.
2. Choose one Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ and practice it consistently this week.
3. Share a story exemplifying a Companion’s love for the Prophet ﷺ with someone close to you.

**A Short Prayer**

O Allāh, fill our hearts with sincere love for Your Messenger ﷺ, as You filled the hearts of his Companions. Enable us to live by his Sunnah and die upon his way, and gather us under his banner on the Day of Resurrection. Āmīn.
