GIANTS ARE REAL BUT NOT GOD
Life’s greatest battles often test not just our strength, but our perception of ourselves. In such moments, our identity must not be shaped by the size of our problems, but by our faith in God. In Numbers 13:30–33, we see two contrasting perspectives. Caleb stood before the people with bold confidence and declared, “Let us go up at once and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.” Yet others, seeing the same land, responded with fear and doubt. They focused on the giants, magnified the obstacles, and diminished themselves, saying, “We were in our own sight as grasshoppers.”
The difference was not in what they saw—but in how they saw it.
Caleb and Joshua viewed the situation through the lens of faith. They recognized that God’s power far exceeded any opposition. While others saw impossibility, they saw opportunity—an opportunity for God to demonstrate His greatness.
Fear distorts vision. Faith clarifies it.
When we allow challenges to define us, we shrink in our own eyes. But when we anchor our perception in God’s promises, we rise above limitations. Faith does not deny the presence of difficulties; it declares that difficulties are not greater than God. Trusting God in times of adversity does more than bring deliverance—it reshapes us. It strengthens our character, deepens our dependence on Him, and reveals new dimensions of His faithfulness. Through faith, obstacles become stepping stones, and trials become testimonies. At this point in our lives, may we choose faith over fear. May we see ourselves not as grasshoppers, but as overcomers through God. And may every challenge we face become an opportunity for God to prove Himself mighty on our behalf.
