"Now when all the people were baptized, and when Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, the heaven was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in bodily form, as a dove, and a voice came from heaven, "You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased." Luke 3:19-22

Gathered together before the presence of God and numbered amongst the living, let the voice of approval from heaven declare your selection for God's favour and mercy! As you step out this morning to begin the new week, may you walk in authority and conviction that for your sake, God has spoken: "You are my beloved son/daughter with whom I am well pleased!

Have a blessed week dear brethren ☦️

At that time, Jesus entered a village; and a woman called Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching. But the Lord answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things; one thing is needful. Mary has chosen the good portion, which shall not be taken away from her." As he said this, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to him, "Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts that you sucked!" But he said, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!

The Feast of the Dormition or Falling asleep of the Theotokos (Mother of God). 15th of August.
The Feast commemorates the death and glorification of Christ Mother. She was assumed by God into the Heavenly Kingdom of Christ in the fullness of her Spiritual and bodily existence. Its was believed that her body did not suffer corruption after death. On like Christ, she was raised from the dead and was taken up to Heaven in her body as well as her Soul. She has passed beyond death and Judgement, and lives wholly in the age to come.
As a hymn of the feast say;
"Neither the tomb, nor death could hold the Theotokos, who is constant in prayer and our firm hope in her intercession. For being the Mother of Life, she was translated to life, by the one who dwelt in her virginal womb"
