TODAY'S SUNDAY SERMON 02/03/2025
MINISTER: REV. MRS. FAITH OKORIE
TOPIC: THE MASTER'S VESSEL
TEXT: 2 TIMOTHY 2:19-21
INTRODUCTION
MASTER: Is a person who has control over something or someone.
VESSEL: Is a container used to hold a liquid, a system of value or substance of any kind.
The Father (GOD) has bought us all with the special blood of His only begotten son and desires that we all be of good use to Him.
Haven been delivered from the power of sin and death, our commitment determines our value before God.
Commitment is simply a wholesome involvement in a particular course.
Our commitment can be wrong when we don't channel it to the right course.
God demands our total commitment; as He is committed to caring for everything about us if only we remain steadfastly committed to Him.
Our values before God isn't determined by our beauty or size rather it is our commitment to God and His works that determines our value as individuals.
God honours our commitment and the value we place on Him.
We as vessels, are useful before God and is dependent on our nature of use. Everyone of us are important to God.
THE H-PRINCIPLE
In our disposition and attitude towards the words of the master; there is the H-PRINCIPLES.
H1- Haughtiness And Humiliation
This is the arrogant posture of our heart that is vulnerably occupied by pride.
We can become so haughty and filled with pride, and that has a propensity to making us prone to humiliation. This is not what God wants us to become, God resists the proud and supplies grace to the humble.
H2- Humility And Honour
This is another position of the heart where we are poised to humility. Having a humble heart regardless of our status makes us honour all men. This state of the heart makes us available to be used by the maker.
A humble vessel makes itself readily available for use by the maker.
God is never lacking instruments to use but it is an honor for us to be used by God, so we must be humble at heart and make ourselves available to God.
NOTE: WE can become useful and readily available for God's use when we separate ourselves from everything that takes us away from God.
We can become useful when we humbly separate ourselves from pleasures, people, associations that keep us far from where God can find us.
May God find us usable at all times in Jesus name. Amen.
