I traveled from nearby Benue state last year where I had an experience with police at a checkpoint. The video of this police armed robber trending makes me recall my experience that fateful day. I was in the company of two colleagues.

The group of police we met at that checkpoint between Otukpo and Otukpa can best be described as armed gang rather than police force.

They asked me to stop for a search. The moment one of them saw a reasonable amount of money in my car, he corked his rifle and pointed at me. If I was traveling alone, I have been imagining what those gang would have done that day.

We have many wonderful officers. But the group I met that day are the type that can ki.ll someone, take his belongings and claim armed robbers did it.

Like I said, this is not about all the officers. It's about this kind of bandit in this picture. If the IG fails to dismiss this guy, then it will speak volumes about the entire NPF.
