PRAY IN FAITH AND BELIEVE
Healing Is Received by Faith, Not Earned by Effort
Mark 11:24 (NKJV)
"Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them."
By Pastor Ifeoma Favour Okechukwu

INTRODUCTION
Brethren, this is where healing moves from doctrine to demonstration.
Many believers know that God heals, yet they struggle to receive healing personally. They believe healing happened in Bible days, but they find it difficult to believe it can manifest in their own bodies today. The missing link is often not God's willingness—it is understanding how to receive by faith.
Mark 11:24 is one of the greatest keys Jesus ever gave His Church concerning answered prayer, teaches us that receiving begins before seeing. Faith does not wait for visible evidence before believing. Faith accepts God's Word as the highest reality because God cannot lie.
When healing becomes a settled truth in your heart, your prayers change. You no longer beg God to do what Christ has already accomplished through His death and resurrection. Instead, you receive with confidence what grace has already provided.
This is why faith is indispensable.
Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) says:
"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."
Faith is the hand that receives what grace has freely given.
1. DEEP INSIGHT + REVELATION KNOWLEDGE
Jesus didn't say, "Pray and hope."
He said:
"Pray, believe, and receive."
The Greek word translated "believe" is pisteuĹŤ, meaning:
To trust completely
To rely upon
To be fully persuaded
To have unwavering confidence
Faith therefore is not emotional excitement.
Faith is not positive thinking.
Faith is complete confidence in the integrity of God's Word.
Abraham demonstrated this kind of faith.
Romans 4:20-21 (NKJV)
"He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform."
Notice that Abraham became persuaded before Isaac was born.
Faith always settles the matter before circumstances change.
Faith Is a Spiritual Transaction
Whenever you pray in faith, three spiritual transactions happen immediately.
1. You speak to God.
Prayer is your communication with your Heavenly Father.
God delights in hearing His children.
Jeremiah 33:3
"Call to Me, and I will answer you..."
Prayer is your address.
2. You agree with God's Word.
Faith never argues against Scripture.
It agrees with what God has already spoken. It doesn't reason it. Intellectual reasoning is not meditation or thinking to understand the truth through the help of the Holy Spirit.
Hebrews 11:1
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
Faith becomes your evidence before medical reports change.
3. You receive in the spirit before you see it in your body.
This is where many believers miss it.
Jesus said:
"Believe that you receive..."
He did not say:
"Believe after you receive."
Receiving happens first in the unseen realm.
Manifestation follows afterward.
Healing Is Already a Finished business

One of the greatest revelations in Scripture is that healing belongs to the finished work of Christ.
1 Peter 2:24
"Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree... by whose stripes you were healed."
Notice the language.
Not "you will be healed."
But
"You WERE healed."
This means God's provision already exists.
Faith simply receives what heaven has already supplied.
Imagine someone transfers money into your bank account.
The money becomes yours before you withdraw it.
Going to the ATM does not create the money.
It only accesses what already belongs to you.
Likewise, faith does not manufacture healing.
Faith receives what Jesus already purchased.

The Enemy Attacks God's Word First
The devil understands the power of faith.
That is why his first weapon is always doubt.
In Eden he asked:
"Has God indeed said..." (Genesis 3:1)
He still uses the same strategy today.
He whispers:
"If you were really healed, why do you still feel pain?"
"Why are the symptoms still there?"
"Maybe healing is not for you."
But faith answers:
"God has spoken, therefore His Word is final."
Symptoms are temporary.
God's Word is eternal.
Isaiah 40:8
"The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever."
2. RELATABLE + PRACTICAL EXAMPLES
Think of a bank transfer.
Once money is transferred, it belongs to you whether you have withdrawn it or not.
You don't call the bank every hour asking if the transfer is real.
You rest because you trust the transaction.
Faith works the same way.
The moment you receive God's Word, heaven has already completed the transaction.

Another Practical Illustration
Suppose a courier company sends you an important package.
You receive a confirmation message saying:
"Your package has arrived."
You don't panic because the package is no longer in the sender's possession.
You simply go and collect it.
Likewise, healing has already been delivered through Christ.
Faith simply receives it.
Testimony
A woman in Port Harcourt suffered from fibroid for five years.
Medical advice pointed toward surgery.
Initially fear filled her heart.
We prayed together.
Then I told her:
"Don't keep asking God to heal you.
Receive the healing Jesus already purchased."
She understood the finished work of Christ.
Every morning she slowly read healing Scriptures aloud.
She meditated on them.
She laid hands on her stomach.
She boldly declared:
"By the stripes of Jesus I am healed.
This body belongs to the Holy Spirit.
No abnormal growth has any legal right to remain here.
According to Mark 11:24 I believe I receive my healing."
She refused to speak fear.
She thanked God daily.
Three weeks later another scan was carried out.
No fibroid.
The doctor asked,
"What happened?"
She simply replied,
"I prayed in faith and believed I received."

That is not magic.
That is Mark 11:24 in operation.
God still confirms His Word today.
3. SPEAK WHAT GOD HAS SAID
One of the greatest mistakes believers make is speaking only their desires.
Desire alone does not establish faith.
Faith speaks God's Word.
If you desire healing, let your mouth agree with Scripture.
Instead of saying:
"I wish I could be healed."
Say:
"By His stripes I am healed."
Instead of saying:
"My sickness is getting worse."
Say:
"The Word of God is life to my flesh." (Proverbs 4:20-22)
Instead of saying:
"Nothing seems to be changing."
Say:
"God watches over His Word to perform it." (Jeremiah 1:12)
God's Word carries His authority.
No force of darkness can override what God has spoken.
Heaven backs every promise God has made.
4. REFLECTION QUESTIONS
Pause prayerfully and ask yourself:
• Am I praying for what Jesus already paid for, or am I receiving what He already paid for?
• When I finish praying, do I leave with thanksgiving or anxiety?
• Which report am I magnifying?
God's report or my symptoms?
• Do my words agree with God's promises?
• Am I speaking life over my body daily?
Allow these questions to examine your heart honestly.
Faith grows where God's Word is honoured.
5. PRACTICAL ASSIGNMENT
7-Day Faith Receiving Plan
Practice these steps every day for seven days.
Morning (10 Minutes)
Read Mark 11:24 aloud.
Personalize it.
"Whatever I ask concerning my body, I believe I receive it now."
Lay Hands on Your Body
Mark 16:18 says believers shall lay hands on the sick.
Your hands become a point of agreement with God's Word.
Declare Healing Scriptures
Read aloud:
• Isaiah 53:5
• Proverbs 4:20-22
• Psalm 107:20
• 1 Peter 2:24
• Romans 8:11
Meditate on each verse slowly.
Let faith arise.
Thank God
Do not keep begging.
Thanksgiving demonstrates confidence that God has heard.
Philippians 4:6
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God."
Gratitude is the language of faith.
Act Like One Who Believes
Continue living responsibly.
Go to work.
Walk.
Smile.
Serve God joyfully.
Refuse to become obsessed with checking symptoms every few minutes.
Instead, keep inspecting God's promises.
Faith looks at Jesus more than circumstances.
6. PRACTICAL WISDOM
Walking by faith does not mean rejecting responsible medical care. Continue following appropriate medical advice while trusting God. Faith and wisdom work together, not against each other. Whether healing comes instantly or progressively, keep your confidence in God's Word and continue thanking Him. Never measure God's faithfulness by how quickly symptoms disappear; measure it by the certainty of His promises.
7. PROPHETIC FAITH DECLARATION
Say this aloud with boldness and conviction:
In the name of Jesus, I pray in faith, and I believe I receive NOW!
I refuse to pray from the mindset of lack.
I pray from the place of victory.
By the stripes of Jesus, healing belongs to me.
Wholeness belongs to me.
Life belongs to me.
Every organ, every tissue, every cell, every bone, every nerve and every system of my body aligns with the Word of God.
I refuse to bow to symptoms.
I bow only to Scripture.
The same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead is giving life to my mortal body right now.
Romans 8:11
Every sickness, every pain, every infirmity and every affliction loses its hold over my body.
Jesus is Lord over every part of my life.
I have asked.
I have believed.
I have received.
I walk in divine health.
I walk in victory.
It is finished.
In Jesus' mighty name.
AMEN!

CONCLUSION
Brethren, this is the bridge between knowing and experiencing.
The Scriptures reveal that healing is God's will.
The cross reveals that healing has already been provided.
Faith is how we take delivery of what grace has already supplied.
Do not allow symptoms to become louder than Scripture.
Stand upon God's Word.
Pray with confidence.
Believe before you see.
Receive before you feel.
Keep thanking God.
Keep declaring His promises.
Keep walking in faith.
For the One who promised is faithful.
Mark 11:24 is not merely a verse to admire—it is an invitation to live every day receiving what Jesus Christ has already finished.
Hallelujah, praise God.
