SERMON TOPIC:

“WALK BLAMELESS BEFORE GOD IN THIS NEW YEAR 2026”

Lesson: Genesis 17:1
“When Abram was 99 years old, the Lord appeared to him and said ‘I am God Almighty; walk before me and be blameless’.”

Praise the Living God - Halleluyah !!!

Beloved, walking before God signifies living constantly in His presence, aware of His will, while “blameless” means wholehearted loyalty, not sinlessness, aligning one’s life with God’s standard.

More Explanation:

1. “I am God Almighty (El Shaddai):
A declaration of God’s supreme power and ability to fulfill His promises, emphasizing His sufficiency

2. “Walk Before Me” :
A call to live in conscious relationship and active service to God, constantly aware of His presence and guidance like a loyal servant before a king

3. “Be Blameless” :
Living with integrity, loyalty and a sincere, wholehearted devotion to God, free from notorious sins that dishonor Him.

IMPORTANCE OF THIS MESSAGE

1. REAFFIRMATION OF COVENANT
This appearance to the 99-year-old Abram re-establishes God’s covenant promises, which were previously unconditional but now involve human response

2. MUTUAL AGREEMENT
God establishes a mutual agreement: If Abraham walks faithfully, God will greatly multiply his descendants and make him great

3. FOUNDATION FOR FUTURE:
This set the stage for the covenant sign (circumcision) and the naming of Abraham, marking a pivotal moment in God’s plan for humanity.

HOW TO APPLY THIS TO YOUR LIFE IN THE YEAR 2026
- Cultivate a consistent devotional life
- ⁠Seek God’s will and strength to live right
- ⁠Trust God’s promises, even when things are hard
- ⁠Live with unburdened conscience, trusting in the blood of Jesus for cleansing.

“My Father in Heaven, grant me the grace, to always live according to your will. I cannot do it on my own without your help. Help me to always walk before you blameless, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen 🙏

SERMON TOPIC: “REMEMBER, THEY HATED ME FIRST”

Lesson: John 15:18-19
“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.”

Praise the living God - Halleluyah !!!

Beloved, this admonition from the scripture is by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ to his followers.

Jesus warns His followers they will face opposition from the world system because they belong to Him and not that world, which inherently opposes God.

This hatred is a sign of their separation from worldly values and a mark of their union with Christ, who was hated first.

It’s a call for Christians to expect hostility, find strength in their connection to Jesus, and understand that this rejection isn’t personal but a consequence of standing for righteousness in a fallen world.

MORE ELUCIDATIONS:

1. “Warning and Preparation” : Jesus prepares His disciples for persecution, assuring them that hatred is a natural outcome of following Him.

2. ⁠”The World”: Refers to the system of values and people opposed to God, not necessarily everyone on earth but those who reject Christ’s kingdom.

3. ⁠”Union with Christ” : The hatred they face is because they have been “chosen out of the world,” reflecting the world’s prior hatred for Jesus.

4. ⁠”Source of Strength”: Knowing this helps His followers find joy and strength in their Lord, as the world’s hostility binds them closer to Him.

5. ⁠”Different world perspective” : Disciples’ lives, values, and pursuits will naturally clash with worldly desires, leading to conflict.

In essence, Jesus Christ tell His followers, “Don’t be surprised when people hate you. They hated me first, and because you follow Me, you are now part of us that the world rejects. Know that your opposition proves you’re not one of them, so lean on Me for strength.”

Beloved, this is loaded.!
Know that you are serving a living God who understands the hatred and persecution you are going through. He will definitely bring His judgment to bear on these evil adversaries.

No turning back, no turning back.”

Now say this prayer:

“My Lord and my God, by your power, by your mercy, deliver me from the hands of the enemies who persecute me day and night.”

Sermon Topic: “DO NOT BE AFRAID, GOD WILL PROTECT YOU”

Lesson: Psalm 91:5-6
“Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, nor for the arrow that flieth by day.
Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness, nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.”

Praise the living God - Halleluyah !!!

Beloved, what the above scripture saying is that believers who trust in God should not be afraid of hidden dangers and open threats, as His protection is comprehensive, covering all times of day and night, both visible and invisible.

The “terror by night” and “pestilence that walks in darkness” represent unseen or secret dangers, while the “arrow that flies by day” and “destruction that wastes at noonday” symbolize open, visible threats and calamities.

More Elucidation:
1. “Terror by Night” - This can refer to hidden dangers, anxieties or spiritual attacks that feel more frightening in the darkness. It may also represent the fear of devils or evil spirits.

2. ⁠”Arrow that Flies by day” - This symbolizes direct, visible threats, such as sudden attacks or conflict, similar to how an arrow was a weapon in ancient times

3. ⁠”Pestilence that walks in Darkness” - This represents silent, invisible scourges such as disease that spread without being easily seen

4. ⁠”Destruction that wastes at noonday” - This refers to open and obvious destruction that can strike even in the brightest light of day.

Beloved, the scripture assure believers that God’s protection is total and continuous, covering all kinds of threats, whether they are hidden or visible, secret or open, at night or during the day.

The promise is not that believers will be completely free from all harm, but that they can be delivered from these dangers through their trust in God.

It is my prayer that these promises will always work for us in Jesus Name.

“My father in heaven, I put my trust in you, by your mercy, always deliver me from the arrows of kidnappings, arrows of boko haram, arrows of banditry, arrows of untimely death, arrows of accident, arrows of sickness and disease, arrows of destruction and any form of evil arrows, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen.🙏

LESSON: PSALM 41:9
“Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.”

Brethren, the above scripture describes the deep pain of betrayal by a close friend or confidant, a personal experience for the Psalmist, David.

The verse is also interpreted as prophecy fulfilled in the New Testament through Judas Iscariot’s betrayal of Jesus Christ, whom he referenced during the last supper, noting that “He who ate my bread has lifted up his heels against me”.

This passage serves as a reminder that even trusted friends can betray us, but ultimately, true security and faithfulness are found in God.

Historical and personal perspectives for David:

1. PERSONAL BETRAYAL: The verse reflects the anguish David felt when a trusted companion turned against him, highlighting the wound of treachery from someone he had a deep relationship with.

2. ⁠SYMBOL OF TRUST: “Eating his bread” symbolizes a deep bond and shared fellowship, making betrayal particularly painful because it came from unexpected quarters i. e. someone who shared intimate moments with him.

THEOLOGICAL IMPLICATIONS

1. ULTIMATE SECURITY: The verse points to the importance of finding security and faithfulness in God, rather than in human relationships that can fail.

2. ⁠CONSEQUENCES OF BETRAYAL: It serves as a poignant reminder that betrayal is one of the deepest emotional wounds people can experience, often from those closest to them.

Brothers and sisters, I don’t want to know the kind of betrayals that you have experienced/suffered in the hands of your close friends, family members, church members, colleagues etc. which has been so painful to you because God is telling you today that He is going to erase it, wipe away your tears and pay those traitors and betrayals back in their own coins.

Now Say this Prayer:
“My Lord and my God, from today, separate me from the enemies who are pretending to be my friends. The evil they are planning for me, my wife, my husband and my children, by your mighty power, let it go back to the sender, in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.🙏
