Trusting God Makes You Steadfast

Psalm 125:1 says, “They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.”

Trusting God does more than give you comfort; it gives you stability. Life will bring circumstances that can shake your confidence, challenge your faith, and make you question what lies ahead. Yet those who place their trust in the Lord are compared to Mount Zion—firm, established, and not easily moved.

Trust does not mean that problems will never come. It means that problems do not have to determine your position. When your confidence is in God, difficult circumstances may surround you, but they do not have to control you.

Perhaps you are facing uncertainty about your finances, family, career, ministry, or future. Do not allow fear to become the foundation of your decisions. Take your concerns to God and continue to walk according to His Word.

Mount Zion did not become a symbol of stability because everything around it was peaceful. Its strength was in its foundation. In the same way, your stability depends on where you have placed your trust.

Today, choose to trust God completely. What is built on Him will not easily be moved.

Prayer: Lord, strengthen my faith and help me trust You regardless of what surrounds me. Let my life remain firmly established in You. Amen.

Saturday, 26th September

God Will Fill His House With Glory

Haggai 2:7 says, “And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of hosts.”

God spoke these words to people who were rebuilding the temple after a season of loss and discouragement. What they were building may not have looked as glorious as what had existed before, but God reminded them that the future was still in His hands.

There may be seasons when your present situation looks smaller than what you expected. Perhaps something you once had has been lost, or your progress seems insignificant compared with where you thought you would be by now. Do not conclude that your best days are behind you.

God is able to bring glory into places that appear ordinary, restore what seems broken, and give significance to what others may overlook. He can move circumstances, open unexpected doors, and accomplish His purpose in ways you could not have planned.

Therefore, do not despise your present season. Keep building, keep believing, and keep obeying God. What He has promised does not depend on how impressive the beginning looks.

Prayer: Lord, strengthen my heart to keep trusting You. Let Your glory be revealed in every area of my life and make my life useful for Your purpose. Amen.

Tuesday, 15th September

Do Not Follow the Pattern of the World

Jeremiah 10:1–2 says, “Hear ye the word which the Lord speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven.”

Every generation is exposed to beliefs, values, traditions, and practices that can gradually influence the way people think and live. What is popular is not necessarily what is right, and what many people accept is not automatically approved by God.

God instructed His people not to learn the ways of the nations around them. This was a call to remain different—to allow God’s Word, rather than surrounding culture, to determine their convictions and conduct.

Be careful about what you allow to shape your thinking. Social media, entertainment, popular opinions, and even the behaviour of people around you can influence your choices if you are not watchful. Do not allow fear or the desire to fit in to make you compromise your faith.

Today, return to God’s Word. Let Scripture guide your values, decisions, and expectations. You do not have to follow every trend to belong. You were called to follow God.

Prayer: Lord, help me to remain faithful to Your Word. Give me discernment to reject anything that draws me away from You and courage to stand for what is right. Amen.

Friday, 11th September

Choose to Do What Is Right

2 Kings 22:1–2 tells us about Josiah, who became king at a very young age. Despite the circumstances surrounding his upbringing and the failures of previous generations, Josiah “did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.”

Josiah’s life teaches us that your environment does not have to determine your destiny. You may have come from a difficult background, experienced poor examples, or witnessed people who failed to honour God. Nevertheless, you can make a different choice.

Following God requires more than knowing what is right; it requires the courage to practise it consistently. Josiah did not allow the mistakes of others to become an excuse for his own disobedience.

Today, let your decisions reflect your commitment to God. When there is pressure to compromise, choose righteousness. When doing what is right is unpopular, remain faithful. God is looking for people who will walk with Him wholeheartedly, without turning aside.

Your past does not have to define your future. You can choose to do what is right today.

Prayer: Lord, give me the courage to remain faithful to You regardless of my circumstances. Help me walk in Your ways without turning aside. Amen.

Thursday, 10th September

Choose to Forgive

Matthew 6:14–15 says, “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

Forgiveness is not always easy, especially when the offence is deep or the person who hurt you has not acknowledged what they did. Yet Jesus makes it clear that forgiveness is not merely an option for the believer; it is an essential part of walking with God.

Holding onto resentment may feel like a way of protecting yourself, but it can quietly become a burden that affects your peace, relationships, and spiritual life. Forgiving someone does not mean pretending the offence never happened or approving what was done. It means releasing the person from the debt you continue to hold against them and allowing God to deal with the matter.

Today, examine your heart. Is there someone whose offence you have continued to carry? Ask God for the grace to forgive. You may not be able to change what happened, but you can choose not to remain imprisoned by it.

Prayer: Lord, give me the grace to forgive those who have hurt me. Remove bitterness from my heart and help me extend the same mercy You have shown me. Amen.

Wednesday, 9th September

It Is of God

Romans 9:16 says, “So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.”

Human effort is important, but it is not the ultimate source of success. You can make plans, work diligently, pursue opportunities, and use your abilities, yet there are times when the outcome remains beyond your control. This is where the mercy of God becomes essential.

Perhaps you have worked hard for something and wondered why the expected result has not come. Do not allow disappointment to make you doubt God. Your effort has its place, but your confidence must remain in God, whose mercy can accomplish what human strength cannot.

God’s mercy can make a way where there appears to be no way. It can bring favour, preservation, restoration, and opportunities that human ability alone cannot produce. Therefore, continue to work faithfully, but trust God for the outcome.

Saturday, 5th September

Approved by God

There is a difference between being busy for God and being prepared for the work He has entrusted to us. 2 Timothy 2:15 says, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

This verse challenges me personally. I cannot afford to be careless with God’s Word and expect to represent Him accurately. I must give myself to study, reflection, prayer, and obedience. Knowing Scripture is not merely about having answers to give others; it is about allowing the truth to correct, shape, and transform me first.

There may be areas where I have become too comfortable with what I already know. Today, I am reminded that there is always more to learn and deeper truth to understand. I want my life and ministry to be built on God’s Word rather than assumptions, opinions, or popular teachings.

My desire should not simply be to impress people but to be approved by God.

Prayer: Lord, give me a teachable heart and the discipline to study Your Word faithfully. Help me rightly understand and faithfully live out Your truth. Amen.

Friday, 4th September

God Will Hear Me

There are moments when I pray and wonder whether God truly sees what I am going through. Sometimes the burden feels too personal to explain, and the situation seems too complicated to change. Yet Psalm 102:17 gives me confidence: “He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.”

This reminds me that my prayers are not ignored. God pays attention to the cry that comes from a sincere and broken heart. I do not need perfect words before I approach Him. I can come as I am, tell Him what hurts, share what I fear, and place before Him the desires I cannot fulfil by my own strength.

Perhaps there is something you have been praying about for a long time. Do not allow the delay to convince you that God has forgotten you. His silence is not rejection, and waiting does not mean He is absent.

Today, I choose to pray again. I choose to trust again. I choose to believe that God hears me, even when I cannot yet see the answer.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for hearing my prayer. Strengthen my heart to keep trusting You until my answer comes. Amen.

Tuesday, 1st September – Welcome to a New Month

Happy New Month!

We have entered the ninth month of the year, and today is an opportunity to renew our commitment to God. Solomon declared in 1 Kings 8:61, “Let your heart therefore be perfect with the Lord our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.”

God is not interested in receiving only a portion of our hearts. He desires wholehearted devotion—a life that trusts Him, obeys His Word, and remains faithful regardless of circumstances. As we begin September, let us not merely ask God to bless our plans; let us first surrender our plans to Him.

The new month may bring opportunities, challenges, unexpected changes, and answers to long-standing prayers. Whatever comes, determine to walk with God through it all. Let His Word guide your decisions, His wisdom influence your choices, and His presence remain your greatest priority.

This month, may your commitment to God become stronger than your circumstances. May you grow in obedience, deepen your faith, and experience the joy that comes from walking closely with Him.

As September unfolds, remember that a heart fully surrendered to God is positioned to fulfil His purpose. Enter this new month with confidence, devotion, and expectation.

May September bring you closer to God and into greater fulfilment of His purpose for your life.

Monday, 31st August, 2026

There are things in life that human strength cannot fully explain or control. Psalm 36:6 declares, “Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O Lord, thou preservest man and beast.” This verse presents a picture of God's greatness, wisdom, and sustaining power. His righteousness is as firm as the mountains, while His wisdom reaches deeper than human understanding.

As you begin this Monday, remember that the God who sustains creation is also able to sustain you. You may not know everything this week will bring, but you can trust the One who already sees the entire journey. His wisdom is deeper than your questions, and His faithfulness is stronger than your uncertainties.

Do not allow the pressure of what lies ahead to steal your peace. Commit your plans to God and walk confidently in obedience. When you face decisions, seek His wisdom. When challenges arise, depend on His strength. When circumstances become difficult to understand, rest in His sovereignty.

Your life is not being carried by chance. The Lord who preserves His creation is able to preserve you through every season.

Step into this new week with faith, humility, and confidence. Trust God's righteousness, follow His wisdom, and allow His sustaining grace to carry you throughout the days ahead.
