Chief Imam of Ibadanland and Grand Imam of Yorubaland, Sheikh Agbotomokekere Condoles Kwara State Government, Ilorin People on Passing of Chief Imam of Ilorin Emirate

The Chief Imam of Ibadanland, The Grand Imam of Oyo State, The Grand Patron League of Imams and Alfas of Yorubaland Edo and Delta State, His Eminence, Sheikh AbdulGaniy Abubakry Agbotomokekere, has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of His Eminence Sheikh (Dr.) Muhammad Basheer Imam Soliu Al-Fulany, OON, the Chief Imam of Ilorin Emirate.

In a condolence message signed by Personal Assistant to Chief Imam, Alfa Sulaimon Idris and made available to Freshvoice Newsmedia, His Eminence described the late Sheikh Al-Fulany as a foremost Islamic scholar, an exemplary leader, and a bridge-builder whose lifetime of service greatly advanced the cause of Islam and peaceful coexistence in Kwara State and Nigeria at large.

Sheikh Agbotomokekere commiserated with the Kwara State Government, the Emir of Ilorin, the Ilorin Emirate Council, the family of the deceased, the Muslim Ummah, and the entire people of Ilorin on the irreparable loss.

According to the Grand Imam of Oyo State, the late Chief Imam of Ilorin Emirate was widely respected for his humility, scholarship, devotion to the propagation of Islam, and unwavering commitment to unity, justice, and moral uprightness.

He prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgive the shortcomings of the departed cleric, grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus, and comfort all those mourning his passing.

“Indeed, the Muslim Ummah has lost a rare gem and a pillar of faith. May Allah grant the family and the good people of Ilorin the fortitude to bear this great loss,” the statement read.
