“A man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.”
— Luke 12:15

The emphasis is mine.
The value of a man's life is not measured by the abundance of what he possesses.
It is not merely about how much you have, but what you do with what you have.
This is consistent with Paul's instruction to Timothy concerning those who are rich:
“Charge them that are rich in this world... that they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate.”
— 1 Timothy 6:17–18

God may have entrusted you with wealth, influence, opportunities, education, business, possessions or other advantages.

But the question is:
What are you doing with them?
Are they being used only for yourself and your household?

Or are they becoming a blessing to someone else?

There is therefore something greater than merely having.
There is doing good.
There is being rich in good works.
There is being ready to distribute.
There is being willing to share.

Back to School Christ Compassion Innitiative is calling on everyone to partake in this ministry of compassion.

Perhaps there is a school bag in your house that your child has outgrown.

Perhaps there are shoes that no longer fit.
Perhaps there are unused exercise books and stationery.

Perhaps God has given you the financial capacity to provide these things for another child.

Don't underestimate what God can do through what He has placed in your hands.

Your abundance may be somebody else's provision.

See flyer for details.

When the angel appeared to Cornelius, he said:

“Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.”
— Acts 10:4

There are some things we do that may go unnoticed by men, but they do not go unnoticed by God.
Cornelius prayed.
Cornelius gave.
And God saw both.

His giving did not purchase his salvation, but God used the occasion to open a door for him and his household to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

There are people God has allowed to cross our paths who do not have the same ability, access, advantage and privileges that we have.
Some people are simply waiting for someone with the capacity to help them.

The lame man at the Beautiful Gate had people carrying him there daily.

Bartimaeus sat by the roadside, crying for mercy.

Lazarus lay at the rich man's gate, desiring to be fed.

Their conditions were different, but they all had something in common:
They needed someone who could help.
Perhaps God has blessed some of us with more than we need because someone else's need is within the reach of our abundance.

This is why the Back to School Christ Compassion Initiative is not merely about distributing school materials.

It is an opportunity for us to express the love of Christ in a practical way.

As children prepare to return to school this new academic session, there are children who will return without some of the basic things that others may take for granted.

A school bag.
A pair of shoes.
Socks.
Exercise books.
Pens and pencils.

Sometimes, what is no longer significant to one family can become a great blessing to another child.

So we are calling on you to partner with us.
Give what you can.
Support what you can.
Volunteer if you can.
Pray for the work.

Let us use this opportunity to become an answer to someone's need and to hold forth the Word of life through practical compassion.
This Saturday, 5th September, is our distribution day.

Don't forsake your Lazarus.
Perhaps your contribution is the very thing God wants to use to put a smile on the face of a child.

BACK TO SCHOOL CHRIST COMPASSION INITIATIVE

30/08/2026

Our Back to School Christ Compassion Initiative planning did not distract us from our primary assignment.

We are not trying to replace the Gospel with charity. We only desire to complement our faith with good works.

We believe the Gospel must remain at the centre of everything we do.

Today, we went out again for our monthly general evangelism outreach, tagged:

SUNDAY OF JESUS TO THE NATIONS

We went into the streets to proclaim Jesus Christ—the only hope of salvation.

And what a beautiful experience it was!

Many were eager to listen. Hearts were open to hear about Jesus, their only hope.

We may give school bags.
We may provide books and other necessities.
We may feed the hungry and care for the needy.

But none of these can save a soul.

Only Jesus saves.

Our good works may open a door, but the Gospel must be preached through that door.

Our compassion may touch a person's physical need, but the Gospel addresses the greatest need of humanity—the need for reconciliation with God.

As Scripture says:

«“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.”
— Romans 1:16»

Therefore, we will continue to do good, but we will never stop preaching Christ.

We will continue to care for people, but we will never allow humanitarian service to replace the proclamation of the Gospel.

The Gospel is still the power of God unto salvation.

We are saved to serve.
We are called to go.
We are sent to preach.

FIRST THING FIRST IN MINISTRY

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”
— Luke 4:18–19

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
— Acts 10:38

Jesus did not receive the anointing merely to display power. He was sent on an assignment.

And He said:

“As my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.” John 20:21»

The heartbeat of God is the salvation of souls.

Jesus made it clear that heaven rejoices when a sinner repents. There is joy in heaven over one sinner who repents (Luke 15:7, 10).

The primary ministerial assignment of every saved person is therefore not to build a name, promote a personality, or gather people around ourselves, but to make Christ known and win souls for His kingdom.

We are saved to serve.
We are called to go.
We are sent to preach Christ.

And we go again this Sunday!

🔥 SUNDAY OF JESUS TO THE NATIONS

Let us go about our Master's business.

Jesus must be preached.
Souls must be reached.
Christ must be made known to the nations.
