*"Anchored in Hope "*

Text: Hebrews 6:19-20, "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf."

Beloved, we are gathered here today to remind ourselves of the unshakeable hope that we have in Christ Jesus. In a world filled with uncertainty, turmoil, and darkness, we are not left to navigate the tides of life on our own. We have an anchor, a firm and secure foundation that holds us fast, no matter what storms may come our way.

The writer of Hebrews tells us that our hope is like an anchor, deep and secure, fixed on the promises of God. Just as an anchor holds a ship in place, our hope in Christ holds us steady, even in the midst of life's fiercest storms.

My friends, we are not defined by our circumstances, our past, or our present. We are defined by the unchanging, loving, and powerful God who has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light.

In a world that often seems to be falling apart, we are called to be anchors of hope, pointing people to the One who is our Rock, our Refuge, and our Salvation.

So let us hold fast to our confession of hope, dear friends. Let us anchor ourselves in the promises of God, and let us be beacons of light in a world that desperately needs the hope that only Jesus can give.

May we be empowered to live out our faith with boldness, confidence, and compassion, knowing that we are not alone, but that God is with us, always, to the very end of the age.

Amen.

*A Sermon on Bad Leaders in the Bible and Their Ends*

*Text:* 1 Kings 12:1-20, 1 Kings 22:1-40, Proverbs 29:2

*Title:* "The Dangers of Bad Leadership: Lessons from the Bible"

*Introduction*

Brethren, today we are reminded of the significance of leadership and the impact it has on the people they serve. In the Bible, we see numerous examples of bad leaders who, despite their positions of authority, led their people astray and ultimately faced the consequences of their actions. As we reflect on these examples, we are reminded of the importance of good leadership and the dangers of bad leadership.

*Bad Leaders in the Bible*

1. *Rehoboam*: Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, was a king who refused to listen to the counsel of his elders and instead followed the advice of his peers. He was harsh and oppressive, and as a result, the kingdom of Israel was divided. (1 Kings 12:1-20)
2. *Ahab*: Ahab, the king of Israel, was a wicked king who allowed his wife, Jezebel, to lead him into idolatry and violence. He was eventually killed in battle, and his death was a fulfillment of the prophecy of Elijah. (1 Kings 22:1-40)

*The Consequences of Bad Leadership*

1. *Division and Strife*: Bad leadership can lead to division and strife among the people. Rehoboam's harsh rule led to the division of the kingdom of Israel.
2. *Idolatry and Corruption*: Bad leadership can lead to idolatry and corruption. Ahab's wicked rule led to the proliferation of idolatry and violence in Israel.
3. *Loss of Life and Property*: Bad leadership can lead to loss of life and property. Ahab's wars and Jezebel's violence led to the deaths of many innocent people.

*A Message to Nigerian Leaders*

To our leaders in Nigeria, we say: beware of the dangers of bad leadership. Remember that you are accountable to God for your actions, and that your leadership has a direct impact on the people you serve.

- *Fear God, not man*: Do not be afraid of losing your position or power, but fear God, who is the creator All

‎ "Do You Really Know Christ?":

‎*Title:* "Knowing Christ: Beyond the Surface"

‎*Text:* "Now Jesus himself was about to go to Jerusalem, and the Pharisees asked him, 'Are you the Messiah?' He answered them, 'I am the Messiah.' But he warned them, 'The secrets of the kingdom of heaven are hidden from those who think they see.'" (Matthew 16:13-17)

‎*Message:*

‎Do you think you know Christ? Do you believe you have a personal relationship with Him? The question is, do you really know Him? Knowing Christ is more than just acknowledging His existence or recognizing His name. It's about experiencing His love, His power, and His presence in your life.

‎In today's passage, Jesus warns the Pharisees about superficial knowledge. They thought they knew God, but their hearts were far from Him. We must be careful not to fall into the same trap.

‎*Three Signs You Really Know Christ:*

‎1. *You have a personal relationship with Him.* Knowing Christ is not just about head knowledge; it's about heart connection. Do you talk to Him regularly? Do you listen to His voice?

‎2. *You obey His teachings.* True knowledge of Christ leads to obedience. Are you following His commandments? Are you living a life that reflects His love and character?

‎3. *You experience His transformative power.* When you truly know Christ, His power changes you from the inside out. Are you experiencing His joy, peace, and love in your life?

‎*Application:*

‎1. *Seek a deeper relationship with Christ.* Spend quality time with Him in prayer and Bible study.
‎2. *Obey His Word.* Study His teachings and apply them to your life.
‎3. *Expect transformation.* Allow Christ to work in you, and trust His power to change you.

‎*Conclusion:*

‎Knowing Christ is a journey, not a destination. It's a relationship that requires effort, commitment, and surrender. If you feel like you're just going through the motions, take a step back and re-evaluate your relationship with Christ. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you in a deeper way.

‎*Prayer:*

‎Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus Christ to reveal Your love to us. Help us to truly know Him, beyond surface-level knowledge. Give us a deeper relationship with Your Son, and empower us to obey His teachings. May we experience Your transformative power in our lives. Amen.

‎*Call to Action:*

‎1. Reflect on your relationship with Christ. Is it real or superficial?
‎2. Seek a deeper connection with Him through prayer and Bible study.
‎3. Obey His teachings and live a life that reflects His love.

‎May God bless you as you seek to know Christ more deeply. 🙏❤️
