Even in Your Weakness

Has it been too difficult for you to stop very old sinful habits no matter how hard you try? Have you given up on yourself that salvation can no longer be extended to you again because of those terrible sins in your life, causing you nightmares?

Beloved,the good news for you today is, many of us out here had been through that same phase in life when we felt unworthy of the salvation that Christ bought for us on the cross by shedding His blood.

We were not perfect or without sins when we became saved too, but the bold steps we took - surrendering our lives to Him and confessing that we had no power of our own to stop sinning actually paid off. As it was recorded in 2 Corinthians 12:9
[9]But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!

Beloved, you too can take these steps today and you will begin to experience a new and transformed life which conforms to God's own pattern. It is magical, do not miss this opportunity. Jesus loves you.

TRAPPED?

Do you know the number of times now you've vowed to stop that sinful habit(s) but what keeps happening to you, you fall into the same sin over and over because you can't help it? My friend, you're trapped.

Let me be frank with you, no amount of will power can make you stop sinning because the condition is beyond human capability. "Oh l'm tired of committing adultery " , "I won't steal again ", "Lies are far from me from today", etc; has any of these worked? Hell NO! i'd been there before and I know that it doesn't work that way.

Now, what really helps or what had helped me overcome this challenge?
1. Present your weakness /frailty before God.
2. Tell God you need His help to overcome this weakness.
3. Leave your weakness before the altar of God's mercy because that's what God wants you to do .
4. Ask for God's help to overcome the weakness.
5. Study the Word of God daily and be deliberate about obeying the instructions and commandments therein.

Jesus Christ says in Matthew 11:28 - 30 "28.Come to Me all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for l am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.

Honour God with Your Life

All you possess right now was given to you by God, not because you earned it but it'd been released through God's grace so that you can basically glorify Him with your possession. God desires that you honour Him with your life and all that you've got and that's why He says in 1Samuel 2:30b ' ...for those who honour Me l will honour, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed '. Humble yourself before God and He'll lift you up. God bless you in the name of Jesus Christ.

PRAY UNTIL YOUR JOY IS FULL: John 16:24 John 16:24 -]Up to this time you have not asked a [single] thing in My Name [as presenting all that I AM]; but now ask and keep on asking and you will receive, so that your joy (gladness, delight) may be full and complete.

Praise God!

Brethren, this Bible verse excites me today that l cannot just keep this moment to myself. Do you know that many of us have been asking for different things from God in ways that belittle God and for this reason, God is yet to answer our prayers?

Honestly, it is only the truth that can set us free. Come to think of it, how would l be granted a free passage to meet and present my only request which l believe will transform my life to the President of my country and all l intend to ask him is a plate of food? Isn't this ridiculous? Will this request sustain me for life? Will the President take me serious? Won't the President think l'm not in my right frame of mind? Isn't this demeaning to a President's office? How much more to God!

Read the verse again - 'Up to this time you have not asked a [single] thing in My Name [as presenting all that I AM] '- We ask many times from God as if He doesn't have power to accomplish every thing, like we're saying- God l know the limit of your power just do this little and leave the rest for me to fix. We downplay the fact that God owns everything and nothing is impossible for Him to do.

We need to ask the Holy Spirit every time we pray to help us pray the right way so that we won't continue to be a hindrance to receiving perfect answers to our prayers for our joy to be full.

CHOICES

To show mankind that He is truly a God Who desires a good father/child relationship with His children, He gave us freedom to choose even from the beginning as expected of a caring dad. Right from the Garden of Eden in Genesis, man was given the power to choose. God created the first man, Adam, and then put him in the Garden of Eden. “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, ‘You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die,’” (Genesis 2:15-17, ESV). This step can only be taken by a proactive and thoughtful parent who understands good parenting techniques which allow guided freedom for every child.

God's love for mankind is inexhaustible and demonstrated through different ways He interacts with us. He is close by at every point when we are pressed to make those life-changing decisions, guiding us through His Spirit to choose the right ones that will glorify Him. He will never impose any decision on us, in order to ensure the freedom He has given, is not compromised. What a perfect God we serve!

Brethren, God cares and He desires so much that you make those decisions that will glorify Him only. So, while making your decisions, to be sure that you are on the right track, double check to be certain whether God's holy name will be praised or not. When the answer is the latter, quickly retrace your steps because the decision can only bring regrets.

No Perfect Assembly of God's Children

It pains so badly anytime l hear even Christians labelling other gatherings of the children of God as impure or imperfect all because they notice some imperfections in the way they live.

Many of us become judgemental unknowingly thereby forgetting the warning ''Thou shall not judge'. How we tend to forget the Scriptures easily?

Even our Lord Jesus Christ made an assessment of the conducts of these 'holier than thou Christians' in Luke 18:9-14. Don't forget that it was the tax collector who went home justified.

Among Jesus' disciples, Judas proved to be the imperfect part of the fold. That was Jesus' assembly.

As a matter of fact, being a believer is not a certification that you are perfect ,but it is an indication that you are a work in progress, and this status will remain the same until you die. Remember you were saved through grace and the same grace will help you gain eternity.

We are all learning to be like Jesus daily. We are being changed daily. The old lifestyle is giving way gradually for a new life in Jesus (Apostle Paul also said he was yet to be made perfect and he was striving towards perfection daily, despite many wonderful things he had done in ministry and his exemplary lifestyle).

So stop labelling other Christians as imperfect because you have no moral right to do so. You are equally as imperfect as others and your sins are being washed away by the same blood of Jesus.

Our sincere worship is to God only who can decide whose worship is acceptable to Him and this decision is absolutely beyond you.

TAKE A SECOND LOOK

Eli was a vibrant man of God but his children were loathsome in God's sight because of their inglorious activities which eventually claimed their lives. Can we excuse Eli completely from his children's nefarious actions? Brethren, don't be complacent about the actions of the people close to you. God relates with us individually, it's very true His covenant covers many generations but He detests iniquities. Take a second look at yourself, don't keep mute whenever it's necessary to correct and don't wait until it's too late to make amends. God bless you.
