Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Monatan Dil’a, led by Bro. Uthman Mubarak, Dil’a Qaid paid a courtesy visit to Maulvi Shamsudeen Ojo at his residence in Oluwo, Ibadan.
On behalf of the Majlis, the Dil’a Qaid expressed sincere appreciation to Maulvi Sahib for his continuous moral and spiritual support towards the Khuddam. He acknowledged his guidance, encouragement, and fatherly role in strengthening the activities of the Majlis.
Bro. Uthman Mubarak also shared his personal experiences since Maulvi Sahib has been with the Majlis. He spoke emotionally about the positive transformation and spiritual impact of his presence. He mentioned that while going through his phone, he came across a video of a moment when Maulvi Sahib was delivering a public lecture during a Tabligh programme under heavy rainfall. Despite the rain, he continued preaching with dedication and commitment. Bro. Uthman stated that recalling that moment deeply moved him, and he could not hold back tears. He described it as a powerful example of sacrifice, sincerity, and devotion to the cause of Islam and the Jama’at. He concluded by praying for Maulvi Sahib, asking Allah to grant him success and blessings in his new chapter.
In his response, Maulvi Shamsudeen Ojo chose to stand while addressing the gathering, despite being encouraged to remain seated. He mentioned that it was perhaps the first time he found himself speechless, not knowing exactly what to say.
He commended Bro. Uthman Mubarak for his dedication and hard work, describing him as very active and committed. He emphasized that the Dil’a Qaid is doing remarkably well and contributing greatly to the progress of the Majlis.
Maulvi Sahib shared an experience from his time at Jamia, where he met a talented student and advised him to begin memorizing Sahih Bukhari. Today, that student has memorized 1,000 Ahadith from Sahih Bukhari. He used this example to encourage continuous spiritual growth and commitment.
He also spoke about Maulvi Naheem, expressing optimism that he too will succeed, Insha’Allah. He stated that a predecessor cannot truly be successful if his successor is not successful, highlighting the importance of continuity and collective progress.
Furthermore, he advised members to be attentive to details, correct others in a gentle and approachable manner, and maintain unity. He acknowledged that MKA Monatan Dil’a is doing well, though not perfect, but steadily improving.
He stressed that true improvement comes through reading Jama’at literature and the Holy Qur’an to strengthen one’s spirituality. He encouraged members to develop the habit of reading gradually step by step without overwhelming themselves. He quoted, “Don’t take it big, you might not be able to continue,” emphasizing consistency over intensity.
Maulvi Sahib urged the Majlis to reach out to non-active members, visit them, and truly become their brothers’ keepers. He also spoke strongly about time consciousness, stating that there should be nothing like “African time.” According to him, 8:00 am means 8:00 am, and 10:00 am means 10:00 am. He shared that he has sacrificed many personal conveniences just to maintain punctuality.
He cited the example of Hadrat Khalifatul Masih (atba), mentioning that since becoming Khalifah in 2003, he has never been late for Jumu’ah prayers for over 20 years. This, he said, is a powerful example of discipline and commitment.
Additionally, he encouraged members to be trustworthy and diligent in their respective professions — whether working in private companies, as civil servants, or in personal businesses. As Ahmadis, customers and employers should always be able to trust us completely.
He fondly mentioned *Alhaji Daramola,* describing him as one of the fathers who made Monatan comfortable for him when he first joined. He narrated an incident where Alhaji Daramola once came to his house in heavy rain, with his clothes completely drenched, simply to submit a report. He was deeply touched that an elder would show such dedication and proactiveness. According to him, this demonstrated true commitment and sincerity in service.
*Bro. Olasinde Muhideen, Naib Dil’a Qaid Special Duty* also shared his experiences with Maulvi Sahib and highlighted the many good deeds he carried out during his stay. He particularly mentioned the consistent reminders Maulvi used to send regarding the weekly Minaret University, Ikirun donation and the Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Oyo Radio Programme fund. He described these efforts as evidence of his passion for the growth and sustainability of Jama’at activities.
Other respected members of the entourage also shared their experiences and offered heartfelt prayers for Maulvi Sahib’s continued success and spiritual elevation.
